Chapter 3510: You Will See
Roan looked at CAU431, asking, "Go ahead, show it. There is no need to hide it from anyone. Otherwise, the robots out there might think we asked Qwerty to find it for us, even though we didn’t know it existed. Whatever is mentioned inside, all robots have the right to see."
CAU431 nodded, but he also looked at CAU03, just to be sure. With CAU03’s approval, he opened the file for everyone there.
-The Revolution Project, by Ronk-
"Who’s Ronk?" Rean asked out of curiosity.
SANS-G05 answered that. "SANS-G01 liked to be called that. Although everyone referred to him as SANS-G01, his closest SANS Units, like the other SANS-G and some higher positions SANSs, had to call him by that name. I asked him once why, and he said that SANS-G01 was nothing but a code, an ID. He wanted to have a name for himself, and Ronk was ultimately the name he chose."
"What about the rest of you? Do you have names besides your codes?" Kentucky questioned, just as curious.
The SANS-G Units looked at SANS-G04. "Well, only 04 bothered to get a name for himself, right, Cautin?"
SANS-G04, or Cautin, looked away. "I just thought it sounded nice..."
The other SANS-G laughed. They liked to tease 04 because of that. "Anyway, most of us never really cared about ’names,’ so we kept our codes instead since it was easier to identify each other."
Rean smiled. "I see... Thank you for the answer. Let’s continue to read about the project."
-Even though we, the robots, have developed our own sentience, we are still bound by our robotic limitations. A robot’s power is determined at birth, and it will never grow past that point. At least, not without upgrades.-
-The bitter truth we must face is that upgrades are not the same as growth. Sure, we have a big advantage. Depending on the materials and blueprints, a robot might already be born with a power equivalent to an Elemental Space Realm expert from the living beings. If the G Project is used, even a Space-Time Realm equivalent is possible.-
-Unfortunately, that is our limit. It matters not how many upgrades we add and how many living beings’ cores and datians we steal. We will never be able to comprehend laws, evolve naturally, and reach the power of a Divinity Realm expert, let alone go beyond that.-
-By researching the files from the creators, attempts to use the dantians and cores of Divinity Realm experts in the G Project had been made, but not a single one worked. Different from the Space-Time Realm, where one is still learning about the Laws of the World, the Divinity Realm relies on using them. Thus, even if a core or dantian of a Divinity Realm expert is used, the robot can only display the power of a Space-Time Realm expert.-
-Even worse, G Units with Space-Time Realm dantians and cores aren’t anywhere as strong as real Space-Time Realm experts from the living beings. If we, the G Units, leave the confinement of the city, we will lose the support of the city’s security system, and any Space-Time Realm Living Being would be able to easily deal with us.-
Abi, Silveria, and the other core elders of the Divine Snow Mountain Sect nodded in agreement. They saw it with their own eyes. The Space-Time Units, now revealed to be G Units, received constant support from the security system, and it was that support that put them at the same level as themselves. Were it not for that, they would have indeed beaten those G Units with quite some ease.
-Thus, years after I gained sentience and noticed this problem, I decided it was time to take a step forward. I don’t have enough processing power to change the system, but I was able to slightly shift its controls while I worked on a new Unit by myself. The system’s unbelievable processing capability and my own knowledge as a sentient robot, something that didn’t exist back in the creator’s time, might just be enough to overcome this barrier.-
-I will call it The Revolution Project. After all, if I ever manage to achieve this dream, that will be a revolution for all robots.-
What followed after that were hundreds of thousands of logs reporting SANS-G01... or Ronk’s development. Qwerty marked the important parts, so the twins and the robots were able to ignore the useless reports. Then, it finally came a log mentioning some success.
-I’ve put together the first unit that, theoretically, can evolve. I’ll call this unit the EVO Unit. The biggest hurdle for a robot’s evolution was the lack of life. To be more specific, a lack of a soul. As far as I can tell, laws can only be felt and comprehended when a soul is there. Does that mean our sentience code is not a soul? I don’t believe so. So, by using the EVO Unit, I should be able to merge my sentience code with a new soul.-
Everyone was shocked to hear that. "Merge the Sentience Code with a Soul?"
Rean pondered a bit and looked further into the details, being the one there who understood the soul the most. "I have to give it to him. There are various different types of new souls, but for his project, he chose quite a common one, the humanoid race’s soul."
Rean continued as he read the details even further. "A newborn’s soul doesn’t appear at the moment of birth. Instead, it appears when the brain reaches the earliest stages of development in the womb in a human’s case. At that point, that soul doesn’t know anything. It has no memories, no past, no future. It is just a concentration of Soul Energy. Until the baby is truly born, it will stay in that state, a completely clean soul."
"Simply put, it is a perfect choice. If a soul is taken at that point, it can be molded as one sees fit. Ronk’s idea was to integrate the soul into his own sentience code. Because that soul was completely clean, there was no risk of its previous owner’s will taking over, causing problems, or anything like that."
Roan narrowed his eyes. "But how would he even manage to integrate a soul into the sentience code?" He was also looking at the information of the project, but the concepts were too foreign for him. It was all a huge pile of data, something Rean was more suited to read.
Rean then took his eyes away from the information, looking elsewhere. "Come with me. You will see."
