Chapter 3509: Revolution Project
Kentucky couldn’t help but ask. "It’s good that you guys decided what to do, but aren’t there many more things to talk about? I’m still curious. What is this Evernight World? Who were the creators? Why did they leave? Things like that."
CAU03 also had another doubt he wanted to be answered first, turning in the SANS-G Units’ direction. "I don’t mind answering the bird’s questions, but I wish to know, just what are all of you? SANS-G Units? Where did you come from? If you talk about age, I’m definitely one of the oldest robots in SANS City... No, I guess we can go back to simply call it Zoshia City. Anyway, even I have never seen or heard anything related to the blueprints of your Units. A Unit that can use the cores and dantians of living beings? How did that even happen?"
SANS-G02, who hasn’t talked up to this point, took the responsibility to answer that question. "To be honest, the one who really knew everything was SANS-G01. Well, he went kaboom earlier, so I guess he won’t be able to answer anymore. However, I believe there should be something left in the Zoshia Enterprise System. Let me take a look."
SANS-G02 connected to the system. Since Qwerty was no more, it should be possible to connect to it, and SANS-G02 knew how. Yet, he was surprised to see it as soon as he connected. "Hey, everyone, try to connect to the Zoshia Enterprise System."
CAU and SANS alike heard that and tried to connect. Sure enough, they all succeeded. "What?! Does the Zoshia Enterprise System now accept multiple connections?"
CAU03 navigated through the system, and he could see the other robots from both sides there. "Seems like Qwerty went far and beyond after he changed the system. He made it so a single robot wouldn’t be able to manipulate its controls anymore."
The SANS and CAU Units agreed with him. They all had access to everything. They all could control the manufacturing facilities, the city’s security system, the contents of the database, etc...
The new system worked in a way where you would always need at least ten units to operate a part of the system. And with Qwerty’s new code, all units are unified, even if some don’t wish to be part of it. That was a good way to make sure no single unit could drive the system in a way that only benefited its type.
Not too long after, SANS-G02 found what he was looking for. The entire database was wide open, and all the information could be seen by any robot, regardless of authority. "Here, the mentions and blueprints about the SANS-G Units."
-The G project was an attempt to integrate both living and dead into a single Unit. The project was ultimately a failure, but it opened a path to some variations. Using an existing Combat Unit, it was possible to extract a living being’s Core/Dantian and use it in the Combat Unit. Depending on how well the extraction was made, that new G Unit should be able to use several of the abilities the living being used in the past.-
-This project has been archived and is out of limits for all citizens of the Zoshia World. G Units that receive such Cores and Dantians turned out to be highly unstable, and the risk of explosion was too high to ignore. Attempts to revive this project will be seen as a criminal act and dealt with accordingly.-
Let’s not forget that CAU and SANS were nomenclatures the two sides of the robots chose for themselves. Initially, they were just robots, and there was no such thing as SANS and CAU units. They only had a single letter to determine the type of robot they were, like the E Unit for Exploration or the P Unit for Production.
Naturally, SANS-G02 made it so the twins and the elders could see that too.
"Does that mean the SANS-G Units in this room could explode at any moment?" Abi looked at them, trying to feel if there was anything that indicated they could explode.
SANS-G02 checked itself internally, but he couldn’t see any indications that he could lose control of the Demon Core there. "As far as I can see, there doesn’t seem to be that risk at the moment."
SANS-G03 up to 07 agreed with 02. "The same goes for us. If anything, we find it relatively easy to use the power of these Cores and Dantians."
"It’s the sentience," Rean explained, and Zangeshu added. "Living Beings use the soul to control our Demon Cores and Dantians. At least, most races do that. When that project appeared, the robots had no such thing. However, now you have sentience, which is very much like a real soul, capable of feeling and thinking like any other living being. Simply put, it made your control over the volatile energies of your Cores and Dantians many times easier."
Abi sighed in relief, together with the SANS-G Units. Even though there was no guarantee that Zangeshu and Rean were right, it did seem to be the case. The files attached to the SANS-G project showed what to expect from a unit that was losing control, and neither of the SANS-G Units there had any of the signs. Of course, the SANS-G Units and the other robots and living beings would keep an eye on them from now on to make sure it was all okay.
"Hmph, what a joke..." Suddenly, Roan commented, attracting everyone’s attention.
"Is something wrong?" As expected, someone asked back.
Roan pointed at the screen, which mentioned that any attempts to bring the G Units project back to life were against the rules, a criminal act. "Can’t you see it? Those with Loyalty-Ensuring Codes would never be able to break this rule and create SANS-G Units. And yet, lo and behold, the SANS Units did create SANS-G Units. What does that mean? It means that the robot controlling everything in the city, the one on command, the one who was always connected to the Zoshia System, the one who said what the SANS Units wanted and how they should act... was a CAU Unit."
All the CAU and SANS Units froze for a moment. That was right! Only a CAU Unit would be able to go against the rule that the G project shouldn’t be touched! At that moment, the SANS Units all over the city understood. They were nothing but puppets in the hands of a CAU Unit, which they had always tried to eliminate!
"But who?!" SANS-G02 immediately asked. "Wait! SANS-G01!"
"What do you know about him?" Zangeshu asked, curious.
"What we know is that he was always the only SANS Unit connected to the Zoshia Enterprise System after the separation between SANS and CAU Units," SANS-G06 explained. "It could only be him. This is looking more and more ridiculous..."
Roan nodded. "Why do you think SANS-G01 didn’t go out to fight with you all. He was protecting himself. He wasn’t a SANS-G Unit, though. He didn’t have the code, which means he was acting by himself and in his own interest. Too bad he never expected Qwerty to fry his processor and Rick to cause his core to explode. I very much wanted to hear just what he was planning with all of this."
"And I think I have the answer for that," CAU431, who was also looking into the system, found a file in there. He immediately put it on screen for the twins and the others to see.
-To Rick and Morty. The Revolution Project.-
Anyone could tell. That was a file left behind by Qwerty.
