Chapter 3470: Noise

The sect didn’t move as fast as a cultivator like Xawery could, but it definitely wasn’t slow. The speed was something similar to what a Saint Realm cultivator could fly. Considering its size, it was definitely impressive. Since the sect never accepted disciples below the Elemental Transformation, there was no risk of a cultivator going out and being outrun by the sect.

But then again, just how big are the regions of a place like the Divine Realm? That was why the Sect already expected to spend many, many years on this journey. That was also one of the reasons the entire sect was brought along. With it, there were enough resources to last a thousand years of constant consumption if necessary, not to mention it was a base for their rest. The sect was truly betting everything in this journey.

During the next two days, nothing else happened. The only change was in the landscape. As they got further away from the Divine Snow World, the ice around them disappeared. It was replaced by the vegetation, which was adapted to live in this lightless place. Perhaps it was due to that that there were barely any trees at all.

The sky then began to get darker as the sect approached the clouds in the distance. Soon, the little bit of light that this place got from the stars in the sky was completely covered, causing the surroundings to be pitch black.

The sect soon became a beacon of light in the middle of that darkness, and the sect used various powerful holophotes to illuminate the path ahead where Xawery was flying with her robot. Yet, they didn’t continue to follow Xawery for long. That’s because she turned around, returning to the sect.

She carried her robot with her Divine Energy, the robot seemingly completely lifeless. Fortunately for her, the sect was close enough to her Divine Sense to see it, so she wasn’t fooled by the phenomenon of this place.

Xawery landed on the ground by Lotan and Abi’s side. Like Xawery’s R1, Lotan and Abi’s R3 and R2 were also inactive. "Seems like the robots can’t operate in these conditions..." Lotan commented.

However, the twins and Qwerty were with them, and Qwerty seemed pretty fine. "Qwerty, are you going to shut down like them?"

"No, master." Qwerty checked himself. "This unit doesn’t seem to have a need for the sky to be open for it to operate."

"So Qwerty said..." Rean spoke, turning to Lotan and the others. "It needed not only Light Element but also Dark Element to work, so that’s most likely the reason it hasn’t been affected by the disappearance of the sky."

Abi nodded, and she quickly called another Core Elder to the front of the sect. It was Hudiander again, who didn’t seem very happy to be there. "Why did you call me? You know I’m busy with the sect."

"That can wait. Our normal robots aren’t working with the weather like this, so we will have to rely on the twins’ robot. We can’t let them go ahead alone with their cultivation, so please stay by their side as they show the path for us."

"Sigh..." Hudiander couldn’t go against the sect master’s orders. "Fine. I guess I am indeed the best choice for this case." Lotan, Xawery, and Abi had a robot each, but neither of them worked. That said, it was meaningless to have them ahead. Hundiander was the second-best choice.

And so the twins took flight with Hudiander and Qwerty, flying a few kilometers ahead. "Qwerty, keep flying in the opposite direction to the Divine Snow World. Can you tell which direction it is?"

"Yes, master," Qwerty answered. "This unit is capable of selecting specific directions in the Evernight World. Should I fly at the same speed as the previous expert?"

"Yes, please do so," Rean and Roan nodded.

Soon, the sect resumed its journey, even though they couldn’t see anything ahead past their Divine Senses’ range. They flew for another three days in that darkness, and no one other than Qwerty seemed to be able to tell where they were going.

Surprisingly, the beasts that attacked them before were the only risk they confronted so far. If anything, the travel after that has been quite boring. Until...

’Hum?’ Rean and Roan heard some noise direct in their minds. ’Sister Orb, did you say something?’

[Me? I didn’t say anything, why?]

[### ######### ######## ##### ######## ######### #######...]

Yet, the noise continued. ’Didn’t you hear that just now?’

[Sorry, I truly can’t hear anything. Is the system giving you some quest or something?]

Rean quickly used their connection, which passed by Sister Orb, and allowed her to hear the same thing as they did. It was a weird thing since Sister Orb always heard when the system talked. For her to not hear this time was just strange.

[Wow... Is the system truly contacting you like that? Why can’t I hear anything?]

’If we knew that answer, we wouldn’t be asking you...’ the twins spoke back, disappointed.

[Sorry, I truly can’t hear it, but keep this channel open and let me hear what you are hearing. Perhaps I can understand something.]

The twins nodded and focused more on their surroundings. At the same time, they asked Qwerty. "Qwerty, can you feel anything out of the norm?"

Yet, to their surprise, Qwerty was nonresponsive. It continued to fly forward, but no words came out of it.

Hudiander obviously noticed that. "What is happening?"

The twins shook their heads. "We don’t know. We just felt like something changed, so we asked Qwerty. Unfortunately, Qwerty isn’t answering us."

Hudiander narrowed his eyes and contacted the other in the sect. Soon, they reached a decision. They were to stop Qwerty and bring it back to the sect. There was no point following Qwerty if it couldn’t hear their orders.

Hudiander enveloped Qwerty with his Divine Energy, pulling him back with the twins’ help. Yet...

*Kabrum!*

*Bang!*

Out of nowhere, several bolts of lightning came from the skies, aiming at the twins and Hudiander. They were all prepared, of course. The lightning struck their Divine Energy barrier, and with some effort, they made it dissipate.

It’s just that when they did it, they also left Qwerty go. Qwerty continued to fly forward after that as if nothing had happened. Naturally, the twins and Hudiander quickly caught up to him while focusing on their surroundings.

"Were we attacked just now?" Hudiander asked.

"Seems like the case," Roan thought the same. "Do we try to stop Qwerty again?"

"Yes," Hudiander answered, having already contacted the others behind with his Divine Sense. "We need to be sure that it was us who caused the attack to come."

Being even more careful this time, the twins and Hudiander once again tried to stop Qwerty.

*Kabrum, kabrum, kabrum...*

Many more bolts of lightning quickly followed, striking them without mercy. Just one wasn’t a problem, but that many was different. They had to focus on their defenses, driving the lightning bolts away with some difficulty. "No doubt. We are only attacked if we try to stop Qwerty."

*Zush, zush, zush...*

Abi, Lotan, and a few other elders quickly arrived as Hudiander explained to them what happened. The sect obviously followed close behind. "What now? Should we give up or continue to follow Qwerty?"

Abi already had the answer to that. "We continue following. Our other robots are still not working in this darkness, so Qwerty is the only thing we can use as a guide... even if we don’t know where it is going."
