Death... and me

Chapter 3469: Easy First Hurdle

Chapter 3469: Easy First Hurdle

"It’s those shit again!" Xawery commented, having seen them before. "I don’t know the name, but they are very annoying. The gather their power in front and shot it like lasers. As you can see, it is quite powerful when they concentrate together. We need to get rid of them."

Inside the sect, Abi received Xawery’s message, understanding that they needed to get rid of those beasts. "This is a good chance. Everyone in the Elemental Space Realm and below has to go out and fight the creatures. Kill them all. As for those in the Space-Time Realm, just keep watching and only make a move if you see it is necessary."

Abi wanted everyone to understand that they all would need help during this journey, so she didn’t think twice before sending all the sect members out.

The twins looked above and saw tens of thousands of sect members also flying out of the sect’s barrier. The barrier only stopped those who weren’t related to the sect, which made everyone’s life easier. They also saw Kentucky, Zangeshu, Celis, and Rifindio flying out, wondering if they should do the same. "Do we wait or help them?"

Lotan arrived by their side, his robot right on his back. "You stay. You are Qwerty’s master, so it will not be a good thing if you are killed."

The twins nodded and just watched from there onwards.

Outside, Kentucky’s group stayed close just in case. However, they didn’t join the various groups around and attacked a bunch of enemies on their own. Those beasts looked like stingrays, although they had bodies that reflected the sky and could fly. Each of them had two big antennaes, and their power seemed to flow through there.

*Ziu, ziu, ziu, ziu...*

With the disciples and lower elders coming out, the beasts changed their targets and now attacked the sect members individually instead of focusing all their power on a single point. The skies began a show of blue lasers from the beasts and various other colors of attacks coming from the disciples and elders.

However, turns out that alone, those beasts were quite fragile. Even those in the Transition Realm could easily kill one of those beasts, which quickly gave the sect the upper hand. In a matter of a few minutes, most of the beasts were taken down, and the ground was filled with blue blood from the corpses of the beasts.

Finally, the last one of those beasts was killed, allowing the sect members to return to the sect. No one died in that battle, although some were injured by those lasers quite heavily. Fortunately, this is a sect that has the best healing experts in the Divine Snow World, so fixing them wasn’t a problem.

"That put our guys in quite high spirits," Rean commented from below as he saw the disciples and elders returning.

"Even though the sect exam requirements got a little bit lacking in the past century or so, it was still an exam taken by the best prospects of the Divine Snow World. Not to mention the sect has a full menu of training that can be adapted to each of its members. You will be hard-pressed to find any weak links in our sect’s forces," Lotan commented with pride.

"Master," Qwerty turned to Rean, "What should we do now?"

Rean didn’t answer and looked at Xawery and Lotan instead. "That’s up to them."

Using Qwerty’s idea, Xawery left the sect, flying a few kilometers further ahead. At the same time, she contacted Lotan and the others. ’I’ll be the first one to open the path ahead. Make sure the Formations Masters control the sect properly and follow us.’

Lotan nodded and passed the information to the central area. They brought the top of the Divine Snow Mountain with them, which could be called a mountain in itself due to its size. Deep inside of that mountain, at the very center, an open area existed. That’s where all the formations that allowed the sect to fly were settled.

Silveria was also there, taking charge of the operations. "Focus on Xawery and follow her lead."

One of the Formations Masters looked at the screens and saw how Xawery kept changing direction. "Is this correct? Her flight pattern makes no sense."

"Just try to keep up with her," Silveria insisted. "From the looks of it, the reason one gets lost in this place is because of some kind of illusion. At least, that’s what that robot said. It is a phenomenon special to the Evernight World. It might look like Xawery is flying randomly, but she is, in fact, flying in a straight line."

The Formations Master had a hard time believing it since the sect didn’t show a reaction due to its mass, the same thing the twins thought a while ago. Nonetheless, they didn’t underestimate the weird things that could happen in the world of cultivation, so they didn’t complain and followed Xawery perfectly.

Rean went down to the ground and collected a few of the bodies of those beasts, flying back to the front of the sect. "Well, these are pretty weird indeed. They don’t have cores, and yet they can charge and use so much Divine Energy. Are they Demon Beasts?"

Lotan and the others looked at it with their Divine Senses, confirming what Ran said. They truly didn’t have Demon Cores. "It’s not there aren’t other races that don’t have cores, but they sure are very rare. To think we would find one as soon as we started our journey..."

Rean and Roan didn’t say anything, but they weren’t any different. They, too, didn’t have dantians anymore. Celis and Kentucky didn’t have Demon Cores either. The new cultivation technique made their entire bodies become their dantians and cores instead. Since they could do it, why couldn’t others? No one said the system’s technique characteristics were exclusive to them.

Roan then got down and collected some of the beasts’ blood, throwing it into the Dimensional Realm. He might have some use for it later.
