Death... and me

Chapter 3435: Nothing

Chapter 3435: Nothing

"So the Oclasio that went out of the Divine Snow World didn’t even know he had agreed and even came up with part of the plan. Interesting, really interesting," Rean nodded in appreciation.

"That’s basically it," Lotan didn’t end there. "So, the next part is the good one, the part where his memories were restored."

Oclasio had indeed gone through some kind of brainwashing once he exited the Divine Snow World. All his memories were wiped out, replaced by new ones that made him absolutely loyal to the Supreme Palace and the Werdlem Empire. It was different from the controlling methods Rean found before when he arrived in this Universe.

However, 30 years after he left the Divine Snow World, Oclasio was on a mission for the Supreme Palace when the device in his soul activated. It quickly released a burst of Light Element that stunned Oclasio for a moment. That was necessary since Oclasio would immediately notice that something was wrong with his Soul.

During that small downtime, the soul piece Oclasio had cut out with the Divine Snow Mountain Elders’ help came out, reattaching itself to the same place it had been in the past with the help of the runes stored inside and the Light Element. That was Oclasio’s own soul, and even though some damage was caused in the process, compatibility wasn’t a problem.

All those memories of self and the Divine Snow World plans rushed into his mind, waking Oclasio up. Everything he believed so far crumbled, and anger filled his being. However, he quickly calmed down, knowing that this was exactly what they had planned for.

Oclasio then spent the next years finding a way to contact the Divine Snow Mountain Sect back in the Divine Snow World. How did he do that? Simple, he used exactly the same method that kept his memories safe during the traversal to the Divine Realm. He knew how to make every single part of the Device and just needed someone to go back in there.

"So that’s how it is..." Rean was impressed with the ingenuity of the plan. "The Divine Snow World had visitors from the Divine Realm every now and then, so Oclasio just had to find someone who intended to go inside."

"He did better than that," Lota added. "He got himself a disciple and trained him from scratch. All of that while pretending he was still the same loyal dog of the Supreme Palace. Deep down, however, that disciple was trained to one day enter the Divine Snow World, and that was 53 years ago."

"That disciple of him had a piece of his soul removed after he reached the Void Tempering Realm, which wasn’t hard to do. Oclasio is also an amazing Light Element Affinity expert. That disciple was then sent into the Divine Snow World, and surprisingly, all the memories regarding the outside world were not there for him to speak about. Just like any other visitor from outside, they never say anything regarding the Divine Realm. That’s one more reason why the visitors never know about those who left the Divine Snow World. Even if they knew, such memories were removed before they entered our home."

"Of course, that was until the device in his disciple’s soul activated, and all the important memories flowed within. That disciple then was careful to use the Divine Snow World Network to contact us. That part was quite simple since we had agreed with Oclasio on how to leave a random message in some random corner of the Network that only we knew about its significance."

"We immediately set out and contacted that disciple directly, who was running a trading mission for the forces from outside. Without using any devices to not risk being detected, that disciple explained everything to us exactly as his master ordered him."

Rean pondered a bit. "What if that disciple was lying or manipulating you?"

"He wasn’t," Lotan shook his head. "We used a secret code that even Oclasio didn’t know was a code. It was part of the hidden memories we left with Oclasio’s device. Can you guess what?"

Rean faintly smiled. A code that Oclasio didn’t know to be a code. However, if it wasn’t given at the moment of contact, that would be proof that this disciple was lying or working for the Supreme Palace instead. "A compliment? Maybe something within the lines ’I miss home’ or some shit like that?"

"Aren’t you a very smart guy?" Lotan spoke. "Those weren’t the words used, but your idea was correct. If Oclasio was still under the enemy’s influence, he wouldn’t have a need to add this kind of message. You do not know this, but Oclasio is simply not that kind of person. Anyway, that pretty much confirmed that the disciple was truly Oclasio’s disciple."

"Okay," Rean nodded. "Although I think that’s still not enough, I guess there would never be a way to be 100% sure considering the circumstances."

Lotan continued from there. "Precisely. We got in contact with Oclasio’s disciple, and he told us everything about the memory wipe on the way out. From the looks of it, the entire Divine Snow World is a breeding ground for loyal experts so the Supreme Palace can keep a tight grip on the Universe. After all, such a gigantic place like the Divine Snow World will produce a lot of Divinity Realm experts over time. They must be very important for the Supreme Palace since they represent the Werdlem Empire in this place."

Rean could see things getting together. He never expected to receive so much information, but he understood the reason. Only someone like him, Lotan, and the so-called Sect Master could control those robots on the holographic screens. However, Rean had one last doubt that he couldn’t ignore.

"Alright... That’s good and all... However, aren’t you forgetting a very, very big problem?" Rean asked back. He refused to believe the Divine Snow Mountain Sect wasn’t aware of it.

Sure enough, Lotan knew exactly what that problem was. "The Cultivation Stones... No, outside, they call it Divine Werdlem Stones, I believe. The Supreme Palace can completely block our access to all cultivation energies of the Universe. That alone would spell our doom if we truly go against them."

"It’s good that you know." Rean was indeed thinking about it. "So, what do you intend to do about that?"

To which Lotan answered with a shrug. "Nothing."
