Chapter 3433: Robots

Suddenly, the images on the holographic screens changed and showed a world of darkness where barely any light reached.

’Hum? The underworld?’ Rean wondered for a moment before quickly refusing that possibility. ’No, it is different...’

Lotan quickly began to explain. "That is called the Evernight World. This is located at the northwest side of the Divine Snow World... beyond the border that separates us from the rest of the Divine Realm."

"Oh..." Rean pondered a bit. "Does that mean there is a world of darkness to go through if you want to leave the Divine Snow World?"

"Not exactly," Lotan shook his head.

Turns out that the Evernight World only occupies a small percentage of the area separating the Divine Snow World from the Divine Realm. As for the rest, it was mostly just a normal land where the constant snow slowly disappeared as one got further and further away from the Divine Snow World. There were a few other exceptions, just like the Evernight World, but Lotan didn’t go into detail about those places.

There was a problem, though. Not considering the exceptions, all the areas that separated the Divine Snow World from the rest of the Divine Realm were strictly monitored by the Supreme Palace, and that’s where the problem lay.

"What do you mean? Are you intending to leave the Divine Snow World?" Rean asked, confused.

"That’s exactly what our sect intends to do," Lotan confirmed.

Rean narrowed his eyes. Why was this guy telling him everything? "This sounds fishy..."

"It does," Lotan didn’t deny that. "You are probably thinking: Why go through all that trouble? Just wait for the day when you breakthrough into the Divinity Realm, and then you will be sent out."

"That’s indeed what I was thinking about," Rean confirmed.

However, that was another problem in itself. "It is possible, but we aren’t sure if it is secure. Also... you can only go alone. You can’t bring anyone with you."

Rean could already see where it was going, but Lotan continued to explain anyway.

The Divine Snow Mountain Sect had some main concerns. The first one was this requirement to reach the Divinity Realm. If one of them did it, they could only go alone out of this place. What happened to them on the way out? No one knows.

The second one was the idea of having to give up the biggest sect of the entire Divine Snow World. Wouldn’t it be better if the entire sect could move? That way, they could build their presence outside pretty fast, so the Divine Snow Mountain Sect always wished to move entirely.

The problem came from the Supreme Palace. The Sect reached the Inquisition Hall that exists in the Divine Snow World to question them about it. Too bad that the answer was the same. The only way out remained. You had to reach the Divinity Realm and could only go out alone. Trying to hide someone in their Pocket Dimensional Realms was meaningless as the Supreme Palace seemed to have methods of finding others in there.

Another concern was what to expect. Why can’t they never enter into contact with their sect members once they exit? What happened to them? Were they truly just allowed to leave? Or could it be they all died instead? They didn’t know. Even when some visitors from the Divine Realm were questioned, they seemed to not know anything regarding this process. After all, they came through other methods and could leave whenever necessary.

Last but not least... just what was the Divine Snow World about? The higher-ups of the Divine Snow Mountain Sect had always thought about this. Why keep this Isolated world where no one could stay beyond the Divine Realm? Up to this day, no answer has been provided.

"However, things changed 53 years ago," Lotan explained.

Rean raised his hand, stopping Lotan. "Alright, let’s put a pause here. Why are you telling me all of this? Have you considered the possibility of me going out and warning the Inquisition Hall about this? What if I’m a spy or something? I’m afraid that the more you speak, the harder it will be for me to get away from all this mess."

"That isn’t a big deal," Lotan spoke, bringing out another one of those Soul Binding Contracts. This was a special version fabricated by the Divine Snow Mountain Sect itself, so they were absolutely sure of its efficacy. "As long as you sign it, your memories of this conversation will be sealed. Not even in the Inquisition Hall will be able to get anything from you with this contract in place."

Rean narrowed his eyes but nodded in the end. He had no fear of those contracts anyway. "Fine, the contract resolves the spy issue. But it doesn’t resolve the part where I might not want to be part of any of this."

"Do you intend to stay in this place forever?" Lotan asked back. "You said it yourself. You wanted to see the world, didn’t you? What better way to do that than to go to the real world, the real Divine Realm?"

Rean went silent for a moment. Well, that was true. He did intend to leave the Divine Snow Realm at some point with the others. It’s just that they found the Glacial Corridor, and Roan thought there was possibly a passage into the Underworld in that place. If that was the case, they would leave this place through the Glacial Corridor instead. Let’s not forget that they intended to go find the Light Trees in the Underworld to cultivate there once they get Celis back. The only issue was that they weren’t certain an entrance to the underworld really existed there.

"Fine, I’m listening," Rean considered the possibility that perhaps the Divine Snow Mountain Sect was the only secure way out. "Now, how about you tell me why am I so important? What exactly do you need me for?"

The images of the Evernight World on the holographic screens changed again, this time showing a hidden place in the sect. There, Rean could see a few strange humanoid robots, all of them turned off. "Those guys are where you come in. They are special, and they only work with those with ridiculous control over Light Element. They are our passes out of the Divine Snow World. Also, I must explain what the answer that appeared 53 years ago was about."
