Chapter 3431: Let’s Hope It Will Work
"Me?" Rean couldn’t say he was surprised, not after his display of healing potential. The disciple mentioned that Saria’s healing measurement would definitely catch some elders’ eyes, so how could his own not? "Is it because of my healing measurement?"
"That’s correct," the elder nodded, introducing himself right after. "I’m Rean Lotan, a Core Elder of the Divine Snow Mountain Sect."
"R-Rean?" Rean was surprised to find out this elder had the same name as him. But then again, Herbert mentioned that this sect did have a famous elder with the same name as him. ’So this is the Rean he talked about...’
"Is something wrong with my name?" Rean Lotan asked.
"Ahem..." Rean obviously shook his head. After all, his alias this time was Rick Sanchez, not Rean. "I just happen to have heard there was an elder in the sect with that name, so I didn’t expect to find you so that easily. Nice to meet you, elder Rean. My name is Rick Sanchez, and this here is my brother, Morty."
Roan nodded slightly at the elder. Still, to make things simple, Roan contacted Rean. ’I don’t want meaningless confusion, so I will refer to this guy as Lotan from now on.’
’Seems feasible,’ Rean agreed with him. That was the elder’s surname anyway. "So, elder Lotan, what do you want from me?"
Lotan quickly explained. "I need a direct disciple with a high talent for healing abilities. You might not know this, but I’m the head of the Healing Hall. There, we focus on healing abilities of all types and elements, so I think that’s a great place for you. Above all, that is the safest place to be part of when the time comes."
"The time comes?" No one understood. "What time?"
Lotan noticed he spoke a little too much, shaking his head. "Forget about that. You will understand in the future."
Still, Rean didn’t seem very interested in being anyone’s disciple. After all, he was most likely better than Lotan. "I’m pleased by the offer, but I think I will rely on myself for now. Perhaps one day, I will pay a visit to the healing hall."
Lotan was taken aback. A Core Elder wanted to take a new disciple as their own direct disciple. He came here already expecting Rean to cry tears of joy once he heard his words. Yet, Rean seemed completely uninterested in that position.
However, he couldn’t give up now. And the reason was simply, he didn’t have any other direct disciple, nor time to look for one. Rean was the best one he found in a very, very long time as well. "Ahem... sorry, but this was not an offer. All Core Elders have the right to select their own direct disciples, regardless if they want it or not. You can refuse, but that also means being excluded from the sect."
"Ehhh..." Rean’s expression showed total annoyance. "Are you sure you aren’t coming up with this new rule now?"
Lotan got angry in response. "Are you saying that I came here to lie to a new disciple?" Well, he was lying, and Rean and Roan noticed it pretty easily. It’s just that they couldn’t truly force the issue. How could such a rule exist if no one ever refuses such an arrangement? Rean was pretty much a first.
Rean sighed in response, while Roan didn’t move a single muscle to help. "Sorry, elder. I misspoke. I just hope it doesn’t take much of my time."
"That we will see. Now, come with me. There is a lot we need to prepare," Lotan said, enveloping Rean in his Spatial Powers and disappearing from everyone’s sight.
The rest of the group didn’t know what to do about that, so Kentucky could only ask. "Roan, is that okay?"
Yet, when he looked to the side, Roan was already flying down the mountain with Ridia, who seemed to be crying? "Not my problem, don’t give a shit. I’ll bring Ridia down and start her cultivation and training."
"Kenny, help me!" Ridia didn’t want to go at all. She wanted to explore instead. She asked for Kentucky’s help, who sighed and followed. He wouldn’t be able to change Roan’s mind, but he could help with her training. She was mostly his responsibility, after all. Roan probably just wanted to make sure his cultivation technique would work fine in this environment.
In the end, Rifindo found himself alone in the middle of the field. All the other disciples and his companions left. Rean was taken by the elder, Zangeshu went to the formations hall, Roan, Kentucky, and Ridia went cultivate in the forest... "Sigh... I might as well go see what the Demon Beasts Hall looks like." Just like that, Rifindio left too.

Deeper into the sect, a man worked with several other experts as they interacted with various giant screens. Several different maps, routes, and other types of information were displayed there.
The door of that room suddenly opened, and Silveria walked inside. There, she found Bario, the man who came to check on her during the Sect Entrance Exam. He seemed to be working with the others to come up with a plan. "Bario, the entrance exam is done with."
Bario looked at her for a moment before returning his attention to the screens. "Good. How many made it through?"
"A little over nine thousand," she answered.
Bario pondered a bit and nodded. "That should be enough."
Silveria then sent a message to the various elders in that room. She couldn’t do it from outside as this place was completely isolated. "I sent you all a good resume of the best talents. If you feel like it, go after the disciples that catch your eyes later."
The other elders nodded but didn’t pay attention to that now.
Following that, Silveria got close to the screens. "Through the Evernight World? Really? That route would take hundreds of years to pass through."
One of the elders, a guy called Hudiander, continued from there. "Do you think we don’t know that? Unfortunately, that is one of the only places where the Inquisition Hall and the Supreme Palace can’t oversee. If this excursion to the outside is to succeed, it has to be the Evernight World. There are other options, but those are even more dangerous."
Silveria looked at the information in that room. "Still..."
Bario stopped her, though. "There is no need to say anything else. The Sect Master gave his permission already."
Silveria didn’t quite like the decision, but she respected the Sect Master. "Very well. Let’s hope it will work."
