There were unkillable creatures in the world.
They might be weaker than Progenitors, but some of them still had the strength of a Colossi.
However, they were immortal creatures who wouldn’t die no matter how many and how hard you try, making them practically invincible in their own right.
And against all odds, one Primordial Progenitor stood against them.
She was an angel that had fallen from Heaven due to her own wishes, for her conscience couldn’t turn a blind eye to the weak and innocent being trampled by the beings who held absolute power in the world.
It could even be said that it was all thanks to her mercy that the human race, as well as the other races, were able to survive the great calamity of extinction, safe from the creatures that knew no rest, no exhaustion, and no fear of death.
She was the unsung hero who allowed all of civilization to grow by wrapping the world in a blanket of snow and ice, imprisoning the creatures who would have otherwise taken over Midgard after the Asgardians ceased to exist.
This fallen angel was mentioned in many parts of history, and she had been given many titles.
The Angel of Mercy.
The Angel of Ice and Hail.
The Angel of Frost.
The Protector of Balance and Order.
And last but not the least, she was called the…
Guardian of Twilight.
For she had always guarded the world against the creatures until her Power and Divinity slowly ceased to exist.
But before her entire being crumbled into countless shards of ice, she gathered all the monsters that threatened the world in her homeland, which no one remembered except for her.
Eiraheim.
Her homeland, which she had transformed into a pocket domain, trapping the creatures within for thousands of years.
After this monumental task, the Fallen Angel finally succumbed as the last traces of her divinity left her.
What remained of this Unsung Hero was her frozen heart, which Nicole had found in the Asta Residence due to the machinations of Fate.
And it had now come full circle.
The monsters she had trapped started to stir once more, threatening to break free from the chains that bound them and escape their prison.
If that were to happen, a horde of immortal and invincible monsters would swarm over Midgard, making the previous invasion of the Progenitors look like child’s play.
“… Baradiel, can we really do this?” Nicole asked as she looked at the countless monsters attempting to break free from their icy prisons, where they had been trapped for thousands of years.
“It’s not a matter of whether we can do it or not,” Baradiel replied. “We have to do this.”
Taking a deep breath, Nicole steeled her resolve and took a fighting stance.
“Let’s hurry then,” Nicole said. “I want to have breakfast with the others.”
Baradiel closed her eyes and channeled her powers inside Nicole’s body.
Four pairs of icy wings sprouted behind Nicole’s back, and the color of her pupils turned crimson red.
Her hair fluttered in the icy breeze as she faced the horde of monsters on her own.
“Let’s go,” Nicole said, taking a step forward before soaring high into the sky.
The Flying Monsters screeched as they headed toward Nicole with fury-filled eyes.
Although the Fallen Angel was currently inside Nicole’s Sea of Consciousness, they were able to tell that their most hated enemy had come back to seal them once more.
Nicole sliced their wings, making some of them fall from the sky, but Baradiel knew that it would only be a matter of time before they regenerated.
But that was fine. All she needed was to buy time.
“From the void where winter’s sleep,
“Rise, O frost, so vast and deep.
Winds of ice, with bitter breath,
Seal my foes in frozen death.”
Nicole chanted and a blizzard descended upon the land, covering the world in a white haze.
The Monsters, who had the element of flames and wind, worked together to unleash a fiery tornado, desperately resisting the world of ice that Nicole was trying to make.
“By the crown of endless white,
Veil the land in endless night.
Rime and hoarfrost, heed my call,
Let the frozen heavens fall!”
Countless ice shards rained upon the heavens, piercing through the countless monsters and pinning them into the ground.
However, not all of them were hit by Nicole’s area of attack, and those who had the strength of Colossi all roared in defiance and unleashed their ranged attacks upon the Fallen Angel, whom they wished to kill no matter what!
Nicole gritted her teeth as explosions erupted around her. She did her best to evade, but it was impossible not to receive damage from the attacks of thousands of monsters, whose eyes had locked on her frail body.
Wounds started to appear in her arms and legs, but she forcefully froze them with ice, keeping her injuries sealed.
Blood seeped at the corner of her lips as she prepared the final chant, which would complete the sealing chant that would imprison her enemies once more.
“Glaciers march and storms take flight,
Drown the world in endless blight.
Let them shatter, let them break,
None shall flee their frozen fate!”
“Frozen Dominion!”
Countless ice spikes sprung up from the ground, and a storm of hail and ice rained down from the skies.
All creatures within the domain were forced to fall down on the ground as Nicole channeled all of her strength to cover them all in a block of ice.
Blood seeped at the corner of her lips as she fought to remain conscious, making sure all the monsters were sealed once more.
A moment later, an angel fell from the heavens and crashed into a world of snow and ice.
She had done this once, at a time when the world was still young, and the early humans were still trying to survive their harsh environment.
Remembering these memories brought a bitter smile on Baradiel’s face as she did her best to make Nicole land safely on the snowy ground, overlooking the monsters she had sealed in countless blocks of ice.
