It turned out that Lin Fan was completely wrong about this.

Even if they didn’t have the same foundational knowledge as him, that didn’t mean that Yue Lan and Ming Xin were completely helpless when it came to learning about this UFO.

In fact, it seemed like they were adjusting better than he had when he tried to learn about everything.

Was it because they were a completely blank slate that they were able to connect things much easier than him?

Was it because he had that knowledge from his past life that he formed ideas about these things ahead of time, which were proven wrong in the end?

Perhaps having that foundational knowledge was actually harmful rather than helpful.

So even though Lin Fan tried to help, he was quickly told to be silent by Yue Lan and Ming Xin. He was even told to stand on the side so that he wouldn’t bother them as they were learning about the UFO.

Seeing this, Lin Fan knew that it wasn’t just because they were blank slates that they learned faster than him.

He knew that it was all because they were smarter than him.

Even if his level of cultivation was higher, that didn’t mean that he was more intelligent. This was the kind of thing that was decided not just at birth, but by the upraising that they had.

Lin Fan wasn’t as keen to learn things in both of his lives, so he just wasn’t as smart as them.

Though one thing that Lin Fan did know was…

The way that Yue Lan and Ming Xin looked at the crew as they explained everything, even though they had completely expressionless looks on their faces, Lin Fan could see what they were thinking with the look in their eyes.

This was the kind of look that he had seen quite often from the two of them.

This was the look that they had when they decided how they could use the people or the things in front of them. And it wasn’t just using them, it was exploiting them for everything that they were worth.

As such, Lin Fan could only feel pity for the crew of the UFO.

It seemed that they were destined to suffer a bit in the future.

When they finished explaining the ship and everything that was on it, the crew turned back to look at Yue Lan and Ming Xin with worried looks.

They didn’t know what the two of them were thinking, they only knew that it was the two of them that decided their fate.

At that, the crew members couldn’t help complaining a bit.

First, they had just been told to fly into the night without any directions.

Then when they finally arrived at their destination, they had been told to bring some people up to the ship by Lin Fan.

After that, they were told that these people would be in charge of figuring out what they would do now that they had surrendered.

So that was why they were worried about what Yue Lan and Ming Xin were thinking about.

There was a long silence that lingered in the air before Yue Lan finally broke it by saying, “What kind of fuel does this thing take?”

That was the last question that any of the crew members expected, so they couldn’t help looking a bit caught off guard. They had to gather themselves after hearing this, but they were able to come back to their senses eventually.

One of them stepped forward and went over to one of the walls of the control room.

Tapping a few things in the air, there was a panel that was raised and handles that were revealed.

Without any hesitation, that person grabbed one of the handles to twist and pull. Once they twisted and pulled this handle, the content was revealed to be a canister.

This canister seemed to be half filled with something.

Looking closely, one could see that there were five different handles that were there including the one that this person was already holding. That meant that there should be five canisters in total in this wall.

“This is the fuel that we use.”

After he said this, they all looked closely at the canister, or rather the liquid that was inside of the canister. Lin Fan also released my spiritual sense to have a closer look at this thing.

However, it didn’t seem like it was anything other than some liquid.

There was a strange form of energy that was inside of this liquid, but that was it.

This strange energy was most likely the thing that was powering this ship.

“Is it fossil fuel?” Lin Fan asked all of a sudden.

When the crew members heard this, they once again looked at him with the same strange look as before. They looked at him like they thought that there was something missing in his brain.

Lin Fan was already used to it and he had already guessed that they would look at him like this.

After all, he also knew that this wasn’t fossil fuel.

Fossil fuel was completely different from the clear liquid that was inside of the canister, so there was no way that this would be fossil fuel. At the same time, it wasn’t as if they would be able to use fossil fuel to power something like this.

“We haven’t used fossil fuels for many centuries now. Fossil fuel just wasn’t that effective as a fuel source and there were all those downsides to using it. This is a clean energy source that is ten times more efficient and doesn’t cause any harm.”

As they said this, there was what seemed to be a bit of pride on their faces as if they had invented this clean energy source themselves. Though in reality, they were just proud because it came from where they came from.

Yue Lan didn’t care at all as she asked her next question, “Can you get more of this fuel?”

There was an awkward look that appeared on the faces of the crew before the captain slowly shook his head and said, “No, this fuel comes directly from the resource department and unless we head back, we won’t be able to get more.”

There was a bit of a hint to his words as well, as if he wanted Lin Fan and the others to let them go back.

But it didn’t seem like they cared.

Yue Lan just thought about it for a bit before saying, “What if you used this?”

Right after saying this, she waved her hand and pulled out a spirit stone.

The crew members were surprised to hear this, but they were even more surprised by the spirit stone. Even though they couldn’t feel the spiritual energy coming from it, they could tell that this spirit stone wasn’t normal which made them interested in it.

One of the crew members took out a pair of goggles that they put on.

After putting this pair of goggles on, they looked closely at the spirit stone as if they were examining it.

When they were done, they didn’t say anything as they turned around to discuss something with the rest of the crew. With the way that they were discussing this, it really seemed like they had thought of something.

When they were finally done, they didn’t say anything either as they went over to another side of the room.

Tapping a few more things in the air, there was another panel that opened up to reveal what seemed to be some kind of blender. Though this time, Lin Fan didn’t just assume that it was some kind of blender.

But it turned out that it was.

“Please put it in here.” The one crew member that opened up this hole said this to Yue Lan.

She walked over with a nod and then tossed the spirit stone into the hole.

In no time at all, the blades that were inside of the thing started to turn and they chopped the spirit stone apart in an instant. However, the spirit stone didn’t turn into rock fragments.

Instead, it turned into some kind of slurry that really didn’t seem like what fragments of a spirit stone should turn into. It was almost as if it had been mixed together with some kind of liquid to form cement.

That was the consistency that this thing had after being chopped up like this.

But that wasn’t the end of it.

After the slurry went to the bottom of the blender, it seemed that there was something that was filtering it so that it no longer had that consistency. After being filtered, it had the same consistency as the liquid inside of the canister.

At the same time, they immediately went over to a panel beside this blender and looked carefully at the data that was being displayed.

Once the slurry was done being filtered and the liquid was gathered, they all gave satisfied nods.

Without hesitation, they opened up the canister and filled it up with the liquid formed by the spirit stone.

When they put it back in place, they looked at the panel at the front of the ship and seemed very pleased by what they saw.

It seemed that this spirit stone was able to substitute for the fuel that they used for the ship.

It wasn’t just the crew that were happy about this, Yue Lan and Ming Xin were also happy to see this.

As for Lin Fan, he had a look of pity on his face.

He knew what Yue Lan and Ming Xin were about to do.

So he could only feel sorry for the crew who were about to be exploited.
