WITH MY SYSTEM, I CAN EVEN TAME GODS

Chapter 1025 - 1025: Technology beyond understanding (1)

It was only when he saw the notification appear in front of him that Lin Fan stopped swinging his fists.

Without a second thought, he accepted these requests and the Love Gauge Taming skill activated.

After the Love Gauge Taming skill activated, the eyes of the crew members seemingly softened a bit. It was as if there was something that made them lose the hostility that they had held towards Lin Fan.

That allowed Lin Fan to ask, “Who are you and why are you here?”

They looked at each other with hesitant looks at first, but eventually one of them said, “We are the crew of the SS Frontier and we’re here to perform an advanced study on the people of the cultivation continent.”

The way that he answered was like the way that a soldier would speak, so did that mean that he was from the military of the other continent?

But instead of trying to guess, it was of course easier just to ask, “Who sent you?”

Once again, there were looks of hesitation that were on their faces. The place that they looked at were these things that seemed to be sticking out of the roof of this room.

“They’re watching you?” Lin Fan asked when he saw this.

They slowly nodded in agreement.

It was one thing to answer a simple question that Lin Fan could have already guessed the answer to, but to say more than that…Well, if that was recorded, then there was no doubt that they would be in trouble when the time came.

Lin Fan just calmly asked, “How do you turn them off?”

“The bridge, I need access to the bridge to input the emergency shut down code as the captain.” The one that spoke before spoke up again.

As Lin Fan had expected, this person was indeed the captain of this ship.

Lin Fan just narrowed his eyes to look at them before slowly giving a nod.

It wasn’t that he was trusting them, but rather he trusted the Love Gauge Taming skill. He believed that as long as that skill was working, then they wouldn’t take the initiative to betray him.

As long as he had their loyalty through the Love Gauge Taming, then they wouldn’t do anything that would be harmful to him. Even if it seemed like it might hurt him quite a bit to let them do something like this.

“Take me there.” Lin Fan said after a long silence.

The crew members were all caught off guard by this as none of them expected Lin Fan to answer like this. After all, they knew that it was unlikely that Lin Fan would agree to this kind of request.

But Lin Fan had told them to lead the way.

The crew couldn’t help looking at Lin Fan with strange looks as they felt that he had completely changed from the person that had beaten them just now. It almost felt like he had become a completely different person in the span of a few minutes.

Lin Fan could see the way that they were looking at him, so he asked, “Or do you not want to take me there and want to be beaten again?”

All of them trembled when they heard this before quickly shaking their heads.

There was this painful throbbing that came from their faces after hearing Lin Fan ask this, so none of them dared to act up.

Lin Fan didn’t care about the strange way that they acted, he just gave a nod before saying, “Lead me there then.”

With the crew members leading the way, they quickly made it to the main control room. This was another set of large doors, but it had been closed with the retinal scanner since no one was in there.

However, since he had these crew members with him, it was easy for Lin Fan to open the door.

Seeing the control room in front of him, Lin Fan was a bit surprised. It certainly wasn’t what he expected out of a control room, but it definitely had a sci fi feel to it.

There was even a large window in front of him that was showing him everything outside the ship. The scenery in the window was completely different from before, it seemed that they had traveled quite a bit of distance away from the farm house.

Though Lin Fan was sure that they were still close enough to drop the mortals off.

After all, that was how they operated.

If they didn’t drop the people off, then it would have been discovered that they had been kidnapping people and experimenting on them.

Under Lin Fan’s watchful eyes, the captain of this ship moved over to the main console and pressed a few things.

Though Lin Fan didn’t know what he was actually doing, he didn’t say anything as he just watched him. The captain felt a chill run down his spine while Lin Fan was watching him, but it wasn’t as if he was going to play any tricks.

The captain knew that the lives of him and his crew were in Lin Fan’s hands, so it wasn’t as if he would risk them just to play a trick on Lin Fan. In the first place, it wasn’t as if they were completely satisfied with those above them.

If those above them treated them well, they wouldn’t have been sent to a place like this.

Being sent to the Mu Empire was considered a punishment since this was a place that was considered in the middle of nowhere for the cultivation continent.

If it wasn’t for the fact that they were disgruntled in the first place, Lin Fan certainly wouldn’t have been able to break them that easily even by using force. Trained military men wouldn’t be that easy to break under enemy torture, that was something that they had been trained against.

After a few taps, there was a sound that came from above them.

Lin Fan looked up to find that the things that had been in the ceiling had been retracted back into the ceiling.

Once he saw this, Lin Fan asked again, “Who sent you here?”

The captain of the ship no longer seemed as restrained as before as a bitter smile appeared on his face and he asked, “How far do you want to go?”

“Military?” Lin Fan just simply asked and the captain of the ship calmly gave a nod.

“Then give me as much information as possible.”

The captain of the ship gave another nod before starting with his immediate superior.

The captain of this ship was a captain in the army of the technologically advanced continent.

With how advanced their technology was, what actually controlled the entire cultivation continent were the large corporations. They controlled the important technologies, which allowed them to take control of everyone else.

That included the army.

“The Tristans, that’s where the commander above me came from. They are in charge of The Consortium which our part of the army reports to and they were the ones that sent us here.”

With a sigh that had a trace of bitterness in it, the captain continued by saying, “If it wasn’t for the fact that I offended the young master of the Tristan Family, then I wouldn’t have been sent here in the first place. It was only because I offended him that I was sent to his place to begin with.”

Lin Fan raised a brow as he asked, “So you have no loyalty at all?”

“No loyalty?” The captain gave a bitter laugh before continuing, “I definitely don’t have any loyalty to the megacorporations, but I do have loyalty to the people I should take care of.”

Then looking right at Lin Fan, the captain added, “That includes the people here.”

Lin Fan gave a calm nod before sweeping his eyes across the rest of the crew.

They weren’t even looking at him, they were just looking at the captain with touched looks on their faces. It was clear that this crew had been through a lot together that the captain would say this for his crew and they would react in this manner.

But even if that was the case, it wasn’t as if Lin Fan cared about that.

What he cared about was the fact that they had no loyalty to their superiors in the first place. That was definitely something that he could exploit for his own gains.

At the same time, all the talk about the megacorporations from the technologically advanced continent.

“Cyberpunk?”

That was the only thing that came to Lin Fan’s mind when he heard about this.

It really seemed like something that was similar to how the world was in the Cyberpunk franchise in Lin Fan’s past life.

After thinking for a bit, Lin Fan suddenly said, “Then do you want to take asylum here?”

The captain was caught off guard hearing this, but then he slowly shook his head to say, “We can’t do that. We still have families back home and if they find out that we’ve deserted, then there’s no saving them.”

“You can go back and get them, I’ll prepare a place for them.” Lin Fan said without hesitation.

It even seemed a bit strange how enthusiastic Lin Fan was about this that it made the captain and the crew a bit suspicious.

They were right to be suspicious since Lin Fan did have an ulterior motive.

That ulterior motive was the ship itself.

He needed both the ship and the crew that ran the ship.

Taking this UFO for himself, why wouldn’t he do that?
