What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy?
Chapter 1054 - 1054: Our First Official Subsidiary PartyThe Knight Captain returned and there was good news: we successfully reduced the monsters to a level that a Dungeon breakout was no longer a concern.
In other words, this expedition was a success and we could return back to the city and get paid.
With all the dinos we killed, we would be getting a relatively big amount of money and it seems like we would even have all of our ranks increased to C rank as well.
Emilia would have been elevated to B rank but she rejected the promotion saying that she was happy to be at the same rank as I was and wanted to stick to it and would just accept a monetary reward instead.
I think only we knew that the Nekomata literally only saw the money as the reward that was worth her time to receive but we kept our mouths shut of course.
She was practically drooling over the small mountain of Creas that we received from selling the Mana Crystals and according to her, we wouldn’t even have a problem paying for the Grey Walker to teleport us to Frostiminir Kingdom on two round trips if we wanted to.
So I guess this means that our trip to Frostiminir Kingdom was pretty much confirmed.
But aside from that, there was a more important issue we had to settle first…
“That one! That one looks interesting!” I announced gleefully, pointing at a certain patisserie store by the side of the road.
Sharille was fulfilling her role in treating us to an all we can eat dessert tour through the city right now and I was having the time of my life.
We entered the patisserie and we immediately took our seats in a corner of the store with myself bouncing in my seat from anticipation.
Lisa grinned at Sharille, “I hope you’re ready to empty that wallet of yours. Although if you ask me, it’s totally worth it.”
Sharille raised an eyebrow at her, “I’m not sure what you mean but don’t worry, I’m prepared to spend today, so there’s no need to hold back.”
That’s music to my ears!!
The waitress came over with a menu and I only took a second to look at it before placing it down on the table.
“I want one of everything!” I declared, my mouth already watering at the thought of eating all those sweets.
From where I was seated, I could see Sharille flinch back in surprise.
Honestly, I would feel bad for her but I know for a fact that her party earned a ton of Creas from the expedition as well so my order was pretty much pocket change for her.
The waitress gave me an odd look but didn’t question it and simply scribbled into her notepad before looking at the others to get their orders.
After everyone had given their order, the waitress left to head to the kitchen which prompted me to lean back in my seat and relax with my egg in my arms.
Sharille leaned forward to whisper to me with a suspicious look on her face, “Are you… Really going to eat all of that? By yourself?”
I nodded, “Mmhmm~ Do you think I can’t finish it or something?”
She opened her mouth but closed it before shaking her head, “I won’t question it… But could we discuss about my party’s role as your subsidiary party now?”
“Hmm? Err… Sure. Though I have to be honest and tell you that I have never heard about a subsidiary party before you told me about it so I’m not sure what this relationship entails…”
“I see… In that case, should I explain from the beginning?”
“Ah, I do know that you’re supposed to be like my subordinate or something… And that you would have to contribute part of your rewards or something to my party, right?”
She nodded, “Any Guild request we do from now on would have part of our rewards credited to your party.”
I gave her a look, “And your party is ok with that? What benefits would you even get from this arrangement?”
Her lips curled upwards slightly, “We get your protection for one.”
I frowned, “Wait… What does that entail? Don’t tell me that if you get into conflict with other Guild members we have to step in to defend you?”
“Technically… Yes.”
Emilia then spoke up from her side of the table, “We do have the authority to kick them out if we have sufficient reason though. So a party that goes around constantly causing trouble would be a good enough reason for us to kick them out. Additionally, we can also demand payment from the subsidiary parties for any losses we suffer while dealing with any problems they cause.”
“This… Kind of sounds like either side can take advantage of each other if either side is immoral enough…” I pointed out.
“It is not a perfect system for sure,” Emilia agreed with a wry smile. “But when used as intended, the subsidiary parties do not need to worry about other parties taking advantage of them and also receive the guidance of the leading party. In return, the leader party gets some of their rewards as payment and also a follower group to aid in bigger Guild requests.”
“Uh huh… But their Guild rank is higher than ours, so… Isn’t this weird?” I pointed out.
“We wouldn’t be the first one but it is indeed weird to most people.”
I turned back to Sharille, “And you aren’t planning to go and cause some trouble to make us kick you out immediately, are you?”
“Not at all, Miss Aster. You can rest assured that neither myself nor my party members have intentions of doing something as shameless as that.”
“Then I don’t understand… Why did you willingly submit your entire party to ours?”
She hummed, “Hmm… I suppose you could say that it was a test on my part. If you had lost the duel, then it just proved that your party was not as strong as I thought. If you won, then it meant that your party was definitely stronger and we could learn from you.”
I held up a hand, “Hold on… Does that mean you’re planning to travel with us or something? Because we are planning to find a Grey Walker to teleport us to Frostiminir Kingdom.”
She tilted her head at me, “You are? What are you planning to do there?”
“Well… We’re looking to do some upgrades on our equipment and the Rejmar Kingdom has the best smiths right?”
She sniffed, “If you want the best equipment, you should be diving into Dungeons and obtaining them as Dungeon rewards. That’s how I got my sword after all.”
“Yes but… The rewards are random, aren’t they?”
“That’s why you keep hunting in the Dungeon until you get the reward you want,” She said as a matter of factly.
“Ermm… If we were really just focusing on being Dungeoneers right now then that might be something I’m willing to do… But right now our main goal is to make our way towards Aerialla Academy so that’s not possible for us. Frostiminir Kingdom is just a stop for us like how this place is.”
She gave me an odd look, “You are going to Aerialla Academy? As a student, I’m assuming?”
I nodded.
She pursed her lips, “I see… Unfortunately, I do not plan on moving out of the Kingdom so my party will be unable to follow you. In that case, I apologise but… We might need to dissolve this subsidiary party agreement.”
I waved my hand at her, “It’s alright, I don’t really mind anyway. It’s true that this arrangement wouldn’t benefit you or your party so I understand.”
Right then, the waitress returned and my attention was immediately focused on the plates of sweets that she was placing on the table.
Our talk was thus postponed in favour of eating the sweets and I immediately dove into the plates of sweets that were placed in front of me.
Mmmmm!! There’s so many different types!! There’s cakes, puddings, pastries, pies, ice cream and even fruit tarts!
And this wasn’t everything either since they were still preparing the rest of my orders and this was just the first batch~
Ahhhh!! They’re all so good!! I already knew the sweets would be great when I saw the store!! My intuition is never wrong when it comes to sweets!!
Om nom nom nom~
So goooooood~
Just as I was finishing up the last plate of the first batch, I heard a loud bang on the table which made me jump in surprise.
Turning to the source of the noise, I found Sharille with her fist on the table and looking directly at me with an intense gaze in her eyes.
“Miss Aster! I have changed my mind! Even if we are not able to follow you, please allow my party to remain as a subsidiary party! We will do our best to support you!”
E… Eh? Why the sudden change?
