I stood opposite Sharille, the woman holding her greatsword in one hand with the tip of the blade hovering just an inch above the ground.

As for me, I only had my Light Sword out at the moment since I didn’t feel the need to show all my cards to strangers.

If she’s dominating me with her greatsword, then I might bring out my Shadow Sword.

Also, she assured me that we didn’t need to worry about hurting each other as she was willing to make use of a Grand Healing potion for this duel so as long as it wasn’t an instant death, both of us could be healed.

The fact that she was willing to do that showed how serious she was since a Grand potion is the highest grade potion you could make.

The other Dungeoneers had moved away to form a large circle around us and we had also drawn a small crowd from the Knights that were off duty.

They were clearly happy to have some entertainment after being made to fight monsters for an entire day.

The duel will start when Katsuki calls us to start so we were both waiting for her signal.

“Begin!”

Sharille instantly dashed forward, her greatsword suddenly held parallel to her body when it had been lowered just a moment ago.

She was fast but not faster than I could react of course, so I merely stayed where I was and prepared myself to defend against her.

I watched as she raised her sword even higher and started swinging it down in an overhead slash.

In response, I raised my own sword and swung it towards the descending blade, only for Sharille to pull her blade back before she attempted a stab towards my chest.

She really went for a feint with a greatsword huh?

I quickly rotated my wrist to spin my sword downwards, catching her sword right as it got into range and parrying the larger sword to change its course, letting it pierce through the air to my right.

Right as I was about to deliver a counter attack, she suddenly removed her right hand from her sword handle and I noticed electrical sparks appearing around her fingers.

“[Static Shock]!” She shouted, shoving her palm towards me.

Woah, woah… She had been chanting that spell in preparation for something like this from the start?!

I could have also countered with a spell but I think the timing is too short for me to pretend like I actually chanted it before I cast it.

Thus, I released my left hand from my sword and slapped at her wrist with the back of my hand, pushing her hand aside.

Her hand ended up thrusting right beside my left ear, the spell in her hand exploding in a small shower of sparks in the air.

Just saying, she was slightly shorter than I was so I was quite surprised to see her responding by jumping up at me in an attempt to deliver a headbut.

I quickly threw my head forward so that she ended up smacking her head into my forehead instead of my nose.

In the end, I turned out to be the winner of that confrontation as she fell back while yelling in pain, her forehead already reddening from the impact.

To her credit, she prevented me from chasing after her when she swung her greatsword in front of her, her giant blade slicing through the air just inches from me.

She used the momentum from swinging her greatsword to recover as she held her weapons with both hands again, the woman glaring at me before stepping in to slash at me with her sword from below.

I took a step back to avoid it but I was not expecting her slash to be strong enough to generate a gust of wind that blasted against me, forcing me to slide back while defending myself with my sword held in front of me.

When I looked up again, Sharille had taken another step forward to swing her sword down towards me in an overhead slash.

I immediately raised my sword to block it and I felt an incredible force push down on me, forcing me to prop up my elbow to rest against the flat of the blade just to stop her attack from breaking through my defense.

She must have used her Electromancy to buff herself to be able to force me down that much.

As though she had already prepared for me to be able to defend against that, she lifted her foot and tried to kick at my abdomen mercilessly.

I lifted my right leg and intercepted her kick with the side of my thigh, stopping her attack in its tracks.

I let out a yell and shoved my weight against her, taking advantage of my superior strength to push her back.

She then spun around and lightning wrapped around her blade before she slashed out her sword diagonally upwards to shoot a blade of electricity at me.

This time, I decided to use my magic as I raised my hand to shoot a [Spark Strike], my lightning bolt striking her electrical blade and cancelling both attacks out.

I tried to gain control over the fight by going on the offensive, my foot kicking off the ground as I leapt towards Sharille.

She smirked at me and swung her greatsword towards me from my right in an attempt to cleave me in two.

I buffed myself with [Strength] and spun my sword to parry it at full force, the impact smacking her sword back and away from me.

Her eyes widened as she clearly did not expect me to have that level of strength so I was able to close the distance and deliver an elbow strike into her chest, smashing her stumbling back.

Not giving her time to recover, I dashed after her and slashed my sword towards her waist.

Unexpectedly, she met my attack by slamming her sword handle forward, the pommel of her blade stopping my slash from reaching her.

She then shoved her sword handle to the side, forcing my Light Sword to the side before she coated her greatsword with electricity again.

Once again, she tried to slash at me with a horizontal slash from my right and I quickly raised my arms overhead with my sword pointed downwards, making sure my sword was tilted at a slight angle with the tip of my sword pointing away from me.

The moment her sword struck against my Light Sword, I rotated my wrists to redirect her sword over my head so that it was now on the other side.

With the momentum of her slash, she was unable to stop herself from letting her greatsword be redirected away which opened up her guard.

I swung my sword back to point my sword at her throat, expecting that to be the move to end the duel.

But right as my sword was nearing her throat, a gust of wind smashed into my chest and blew me back, moving me out of range.

Did she really just finish chanting that Aeromancy spell in such a short time?!

Tch… No wonder she has the title of sword saint… Guess I should be a little serious too.

Sharille leapt forward again with her sword raised over her head once more, electricity sparking across the surface of her blade.

I sidestepped her blow and the sword smashed into the ground, a shockwave exploding out from the point of impact.

Under normal circumstances, I would have been blown away by that shockwave but I had thrown up a wall of air with [Air Wall], allowing me to stand my ground.

She tried to follow up her slash by pulling up her sword to slash in my direction but I had closed the distance in that split second and I pressed my hand against her chest.

Too bad her armour was metallic so there was no squishiness when I touched her.

I let my [Static Shock] explode out from my palm and her body immediately froze up as the spell worked its magic in paralysing her.

She tried to fight off the paralysis and to her credit, my spell barely froze her for a second before she managed to free herself from it.

But that second was all I needed to thrust my sword forward and press the tip of my blade against her abdomen.

She paused and looked down, her lips curling downwards into a frown when she saw my blade resting against her stomach.

She sucked in a breath before breathing out, “It’s my loss, Miss Aster. Well fought.”

I also let out the breath that I had been holding and she stepped back before she stabbed her sword into the ground beside her.

I was wondering what she wanted to do until she got down on a knee and placed her right hand over her chest.

“From today onwards, we, the party of Twilight Moons, shall serve loyally under the White Dragon’s Sword Maidens as your subsidiary party.”

Err… Ok, I guess that’s that but… I want my sweets.
