Villain Ch 1044. Gerry is Cooking

Allen scoffed, the bitterness in his tone unmistakable. “Well, her personality hasn’t really changed, though. She’s still as manipulative as ever. The only difference now is that my eyes are wide open. I can see right through her.”

Mark’s frown deepened, his brow furrowing in thought. He had clearly believed Sophia’s side of the story before hearing Allen’s, and now, the cracks in her narrative were becoming harder to ignore. “I see… So she’s been trying to control the narrative, huh? Act like the victim this whole time?” Mark rubbed the back of his neck, his expression conflicted. “I didn’t expect that from her.”

Gerry let out a short laugh. “Yeah, well, she’s good at playing that part. The innocent, sweet girl who just had her heart broken. She’s been doing it for a while.”

Mark shook his head, looking genuinely surprised. “I mean, I know she’s been trying to hang around some rich guy lately. It’s obvious, you can tell by how she acts—too friendly around some of the male gym members, always dropping hints about expensive restaurants and trips. But, you know, based on her sweet face and those cute outfits, you wouldn’t peg her as that type.

She doesn’t look like she’s manipulative or out to get something. Then suddenly, when she gets the chance, she’s telling everyone how she’s the victim.”

Allen leaned back on the bench. “Yeah, that’s the thing about her. She’s always had this innocent facade. It works, too, because people don’t expect someone who looks like her to be so calculated. It’s like she knows exactly how to play into what people want to believe about her.”

Mark nodded, his expression thoughtful. “I could see that now. She does have this sweet, almost innocent way about her. I guess I never questioned it.” He paused for a moment before adding, “But now that everything’s clear, I’m not curious anymore. At least I understand what happened between you two.”

Gerry decided to stir the pot. He placed his hand on Mark’s shoulder, leaning in with a smirk that could only mean trouble. “You know, if you can help us. Please spread the word about this,” he said, his tone dripping with casual charm. “I’m not trying to start drama or anything, but people deserve to know the truth. Imagine if someone was out there trashing your name.

You’d want someone to clean it up, right?”

Allen had to hold back a cringe. The way Gerry was leaning in, the charm practically oozing from him—it was clear to Allen what was going on. ‘Is he… seducing Mark?’ Allen thought, barely suppressing an eye roll. Gerry knew exactly what he was doing. Allen and Gerry knew Mark wasn’t straight, and it was obvious that Gerry was using his charm intentionally.

The whole situation made Allen uncomfortable, but Gerry didn’t seem to care.

Mark cleared his throat, a faint blush creeping up his cheeks, which was rare for someone as composed as him. He shifted awkwardly, gently moving Gerry’s hand off his shoulder. “I’ll see what I can do,” Mark said, his voice a little more flustered than usual. “But no promises. You know how busy my schedule gets.”

Gerry grinned, clearly satisfied with the effect he’d had. “Thanks, Mark. I owe you a coffee for that.”

Mark chuckled softly but still looked a little uncomfortable. “Yeah, just don’t do that again, alright? I’ve got a boyfriend.” His tone was more amused than annoyed, but there was a clear boundary in his words.

Gerry raised his hands in mock surrender, his grin never fading. “Roger that. No more flirting. You’re safe from my charms.”

Allen couldn’t help but laugh at that, shaking his head at the absurdity of the whole situation. It was classic Gerry—charming, overconfident, and completely shameless. But at least it seemed to be working, and if anyone could help spread the truth about Sophia, it would be Mark. His reputation in the gym was solid, and people trusted him.

Gerry pointed at Allen playfully, a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. “Hey, don’t laugh at me, man. I’m doing this for you! You better treat me to two coffees after this, because I deserve it.”

Allen tried to hold back his laughter, his shoulders shaking slightly as he raised his hands in mock surrender. “Alright, alright. I won’t laugh anymore. You will earn your coffee.”

Mark shook his head, chuckling softly at the two of them. “You two are something else,” he said, still a little amused by Gerry’s antics. “Anyway, I’ve got to get back to work. I’ll see what I can do about… well, you know.”

“Thanks, Mark,” Allen said, his tone more sincere now. “I appreciate it.”

Mark nodded, giving them both a quick wave before heading back toward the gym floor, leaving Allen and Gerry standing by the bench.

As soon as Mark was out of earshot, Allen let out a small sigh. The tension that had been hanging over him since the conversation with Mark finally eased up. “That could’ve gone worse,” he muttered, glancing at Gerry. “But seriously, man, what was with the charm offensive back there? You were practically seducing him.”

Gerry flashed a grin, clearly unbothered. “Hey, whatever works, right? Besides, you know Mark’s got a soft spot for me. A little harmless flirting never hurt anyone.”

Allen shook his head, laughing despite himself. “I swear, you’ve got no shame.”

“Nope,” Gerry replied proudly, popping the ‘p.’ “And it works every time. Now let’s hit the showers before Sophia magically appears and tries to corner you again.”

The two of them made their way to the locker room, the sounds of the gym fading behind them as they pushed open the door. Inside, the locker room was quiet, a few stray gym-goers coming and going, but it was mostly empty. After the morning’s drama, all he wanted was to shower, change, and get out of there.

He tossed his bag onto the bench and started stripping off his sweat-soaked clothes.
