“Mentor… What is the Natural Society?”

Watching Bilbo being taken away, Su Lu asked in a low voice.

He had heard about this organization from Xila previously, and it had always been mentioned with seriousness.

It seemed as if it was more complex than it first appeared.

“I thought… it would be a while before you’d run into this organization.”

James sighed, “They’re a group of anti-civilization lunatics… reputedly, there’s a high number of women among their leadership ranks, and even more lunatics… they believe advancements in technology and social development are the root causes of human civilization’s destruction. Thus, they argue that we need to return to nature, return to primitiveness, ideally, harkening back to the Dark Ages and completely extinguishing the flame of civilization…”

“Moreover, they are quite deranged and have orchestrated several shocking events. They will even assassinate renowned scientists, mechanists… to hinder the advancement of technology. They are a wicked organization with a joint bounty by the three nations.”

“I’m sorry… I had initially thought, since you were just the second co-inventor on the project, it wouldn’t affect you. But I didn’t expect… their madness far exceeded my expectations. Or perhaps… they saw the liquid metal technology as evil… this could lead to a series of irrational actions.”

James looked incredibly troubled.

Su Lu’s expression became subtler, “The progress of civilization is the root cause of destruction?”

This ideology might be considered as anti-human and anti-social in other worlds, but in this world, “the Sword of Damocles” that the Star Devourer Clan imposed, where a human civilization that progressed beyond its limits was met with a retaliatory strike, seemed oddly fitting!

‘Could it be… the female prophets of the Natural Society have discovered some information left by ancient civilizations, hence their ideology can’t be completely dismissed as false… and because of this, they managed to gather large support, survived numerous hits, and never went extinct?’

‘They are right, if humans in this world “castrated” themselves and ceased advancing technologically, they probably wouldn’t have to worry about threats from the Star Devourer Clan. But… that thought seems utterly suppressing.’

‘Regardless of their theoretical correctness, anyone who dares to assassinate me, is my enemy!’

Su Lu’s expression turned icy, “But… why would just being the second co-inventor on a technological patent lead to assassination attempts? This is James’ treatment… surely not my own.”

He had a feeling that something unknown had occurred.

Immediately after, Su Lu’s gaze set on his [Fate Manipulator] profession.

The more effort you put into manipulating fate, the more reward you will get from it!

‘So it would seem… I have caught the eye of “fate” itself? All low probability incidents have become highly probable? But as a [Fate Manipulator], I must incessantly challenge fate, be successful, and receive feedback to grow rapidly!’

“Mentor!”

Having thought it through, Su Lu briskly walked towards James, “I would like to apply to use liquid metal to craft my Guyver.”

“Well, safety is certainly a matter of concern right now, don’t worry, I will arrange for protection for your family…”

James lifted his head, “And regarding this incident, why was Bilbo chosen as the tester, some people will be held accountable for this.”

“Indeed!”

At that moment, a shadow as dark as night walked in — it was Sha Lina, clad in Guyver gear.

“Master, younger apprentice,”

She looked at Su Lu, “Morphy… you must get stronger soon, otherwise who knows when you might kick the bucket.”

Su Lu clutched his head, not wanting to exchange words with her.

“Starting with ‘Nether Energy Study’, ‘Spirit World Study’ and so on… I won’t be able to create Ghost Armor just yet, or rather if I did, the Natural Society will definitely go nuts…”

“If liquid metal is the primary component, however, I do have a few decent designs in mind. We could use one of those.”

In the lab, Su Lu began to design his second set of Guyver gear.

“At the very least… it can increase my power by two levels, and normally it can transform into common clothes to enhance my defense…”

He quickly began sketching out a draft and was soon lost in his research.

Meanwhile, Sha Lina arrived at a villa.

Boom!

Her ‘Night Leopard’ Guyver gear arm radiated a dazzling light, an encroaching darkness swept towards the villa.

Sizzle!

The moment darkness descended, the building was plagued by the sound of rotting. Walls aged, plants withered and decayed, and the entire building seemed on the brink of collapse.

“What are you doing?”

A middle-aged man’s voice emanated from within the villa, “Attacking innocent people’s residences, Sha Lina, do you want to stand in court?”

“Innocent people?”

From within the starlit Guyver gear, Sha Lina’s mocking voice echoed, “Would an innocent person know me? Also… I’m with the military, I have the special right to enforce the law, and I suspect you’re a spy for the Natural Society!”

“This is defamation, I know many people, you…”

The middle-aged man’s voice became hysterical.

The next moment, the entire building collapsed.

Boom!

A five-meter-tall mecha crawled out from the ruins, its eyes blazing red, “You’re asking for death!”

“Hehe… would an innocent person secretly stash away a mecha?”

Sha Lina’s expression was icy, “Natural Society… you dare to target my mentor and junior apprentice, are you tired of living.”

She turned into a pitch-black figure, rushing forward abruptly, “Night’s Splendor!”

The realm of darkness instantly expanded, swiftly spreading across the entire street.

Explosion after explosion echoed, but the repercussions seemed unable to penetrate the covering darkness.

Eventually, the massive mecha collapsed on the ground, its chest crushed to expose the middle-aged man within the cockpit, “You… you’ve already…”

His expression was one of horror. He stared at Sha Lina, disbelief mingling with the terror painted on his face.

“Looks like the others in this hideout have already evacuated… did you know? You’ve been abandoned, discarded like trash.”

Sha Lina grabbed the man’s head, hoisting him up, “But… even trash has its uses, I want you to confess everything you know.”

Carrying the middle-aged man, she slowly walked out of the street, the intense darkness gradually dissipating.

Coming straight at her, several investigators clad in black windbreakers emerged, ‘Vulture’ among them.

“Supernova Sha Lina?”

The leading investigator looked at Sha Lina, a headache clearly apparent in his expression, “Why are you here, and why are you utilizing your powers beyond the regulations?”

“Military operations.” Sha Lina retorted without a shred of fear, “Inquire with my superior.”

With that, she left without turning back.

“Leader…”

Vulture, looking at Sha Lina’s retreating figure, said with dark eyes, “That woman… she’s exactly like in the legend, a lunatic.”

“Even though she’s crazy, she’s a lunatic with an immense amount of power…”

The leader, looking at the ruined villa, shook his head, “Get someone to clean up…”
