Chapter 691: Chapter 691: Some People Are Too Annoying

(Chapter Five)

After hanging up the phone, Luo Ziling had calmed down from his anger, even feeling slightly excited.

If Wang Zhenjun gave him another surprise and found out who was scheming behind the scenes, some troubling matters might just be resolved.

“All right, it’s going to be fine now,” Luo Ziling sat down next to Yang Qingyin and touched her shoulder, “Did it spoil your mood?”

“Of course,” Yang Qingyin leaned into Luo Ziling’s embrace, “and I was scared too. Some people are just so annoying.”

“Who do you think would do such a disgusting thing?”

“It’s most likely someone from the Ling Family, or Chen Jiahai. It’s not very likely to be someone from the Yang Family,” Yang Qingyin said earnestly, “But who it really is, I think we’ll only know after an investigation. Guesses are just guesses, and the actual outcome might be surprising.”

“Okay, let them handle the investigation. There shouldn’t be any disruptions tonight; let’s bathe and go to bed.” Luo Ziling said, giving Yang Qingyin another kiss, “You go shower first, and later I’ll give you a massage, ensuring you sleep comfortably tonight.”

“Mm,” Yang Qingyin agreed obediently, got up, took her pajamas, and went to the bathroom to shower.

While Yang Qingyin was taking a shower in the bathroom, Luo Ziling sat on the couch, deep in thought.

He still felt irked, a discomfort born from the frequent sneaky attacks and disgusting schemes of others.

After pondering for a bit, Luo Ziling called Yang Xiaodong to ask what he was up to.

Yang Xiaodong said that Wang Zhenjun was busy with something and he was temporarily free.

Luo Ziling listed a few names to Yang Xiaodong, instructing him to keep an eye on these people’s movements when he was free, and if he felt like it, to play with them a bit.

Hearing Luo Ziling’s request, Yang Xiaodong immediately understood the situation and readily agreed. He also told Luo Ziling that he would have Wang Zhenjun thoroughly investigate these people, monitor their call records, and that they might make some unexpected discoveries.

If they found that any of these individuals were suspected of causing trouble, he would go and toy with them tonight since he had nothing else planned.

As Luo Ziling was about to turn on the TV and watch a program, his phone rang. He saw it was an unknown number and after some thought, he answered the call. As soon as the call connected, a somewhat cold female voice came through, “If you’re free tomorrow morning, bring your two friends and come see me. I’m Phoenix!”

Upon hearing the initial sentences, Luo Ziling was confused, but when the speaker introduced herself as Phoenix, he suddenly realized who it was.

“Haha, it’s quite a surprise to receive a call from Miss Phoenix. I have classes tomorrow morning, but if you wish us to come, I’ll have to take leave,” Luo Ziling said, already deciding to take the day off since it was Friday anyway, treating it like an early start to the weekend, “Also, where should we meet you?”

“At the sanatorium where the commander is staying. I have other matters to discuss with you. Tomorrow at 8:30 AM, I’ll wait for you there,” Phoenix’s voice remained as flat as before, without any fluctuations.

“Okay, tomorrow at 8:30 AM, I’ll bring them over.”

“Good!” Phoenix agreed and then hung up the call directly.

“So rude, not even a goodbye,” Luo Ziling muttered as he tossed the phone aside and murmured to himself.

But he was still eager to meet Phoenix, having too many things to discuss with her.

He wanted Phoenix’s help in getting an identification document for his unofficial doctor role, to inquire about what Lin Lan was really up to and where she had gone, and to ask Phoenix about the complications between Dragon Rise and Snow Fox. These were matters of great interest to Luo Ziling, and he felt certain that this woman must know, although he didn’t know if she’d be willing to give him the answers.

After taking Phoenix’s call, Luo Ziling called Yang Xiaodong again, keeping the conversation brief: “Tomorrow morning at eight o’clock, come with me to meet someone from Dragon Rise.”

“Understood,” Yang Xiaodong replied, sounding a bit excited, and he further told Luo Ziling that he and Wang Zhenjun were busy, but regardless of whether or not they had good news, they would report back to him tomorrow.

By the time Luo Ziling finished the call, Yang Qingyin had already finished showering and was blow-drying her hair in the bathroom, with the door open.

After blow-drying her hair for a while, Yang Qingyin walked out, smiling at Luo Ziling, “Aren’t you going to take a shower?”

“No need for a bath, I’ve just had a quick wash at my mom’s place,” Luo Ziling shook his head, then with a smile offered to Yang Qingyin, “How about I blow-dry your hair for you?”

“Okay,” Yang Qingyin didn’t refuse and handed the hairdryer to Luo Ziling.

As he dried her hair, gently running his fingers through her locks, Luo Ziling’s heart swelled with a strange feeling.

Whether it was due to the shower or the stirrings in her own heart making her shy, Yang Qingyin’s cheeks were flushed deep red, as if they could bleed.

“I’m feeling sleepy and want to go to bed,” Yang Qingyin said with her head lowered after her hair was dry, “You have to give me a massage, and later, hold me while sleeping, but don’t let your thoughts wander.”

As she spoke, her face turned even redder.
