(Fourth Update)
Just as Luo Ziling and Yang Qingyin were engrossed in their tender affections, they were startled by a sudden commotion.
Luo Ziling bounced off Yang Qingyin’s body with lightning speed, while Yang Qingyin immediately rolled over and sat up.
The knocking continued, the door shook with the force, and the shouting didn’t stop; it grew more rough and aggressive.
Luo Ziling furrowed his brows and walked over, his first thought being that the Yang family had come to catch them in the act, which weighed heavily on his mind.
Peering through the peephole, he saw several uniformed officers, which deepened his confusion, but he eventually opened the door. Luo Ziling cracked the door open, braced it with his shoulder, and asked gruffly, “What do you want?”
“We received a report that there’s prostitution and drug use in this room,” the uniformed man in the lead demanded authoritatively, “Open the door right now and submit to our inspection.”
Luo Ziling, recognizing that the loud man was just a temporary worker, ignored his command and held the door with his shoulder, “Please show your identification.” As a citizen, he knew it was his right to request identification during an inspection, and he was clear about this.
The group of uniformed men didn’t expect Luo Ziling to make such a demand and were annoyed. The auxiliary policeman tried to push him, and two others attempted to force the door open. However, the man who tried to push Luo Ziling was restrained, and the two others didn’t succeed in breaking the door. Luo Ziling was much stronger than they were, and the door he was bracing only swayed a little without opening completely.
“Please show your identification, or I’m calling the police. I suspect you’re impostors causing trouble,” Luo Ziling stood his ground fearlessly, retorting with firmness, “Don’t try to challenge my limits.”
Someone must have discovered their whereabouts tonight and reported them to the police just to annoy them.
Luo Ziling would not let them in, as he didn’t want Yang Qingyin to be frightened.

Taken aback by Luo Ziling’s assertiveness, the uniformed men grew angry. However, finally, a real policeman stepped forward, showed Luo Ziling his identification, and explained the reason for their visit – they indeed received a report of prostitution and drug use in the room. After showing his ID and explaining the reason, the officer authoritatively said, “Comrade, I hope you’ll cooperate with our inspection.”
“First, take a look at my IDs,” replied Luo Ziling, pulling out his identity card and gun permit, and unfolded them for the officer to see.
He regretted not having gotten his Dragon Rise credentials sorted out sooner.
Li Haiyang had expressed his hope for Luo Ziling to become an unofficial doctor for Dragon Rise, and Luo Ziling had agreed, but he had not dealt with it properly and didn’t ask Li Haiyang or Phoenix for any IDs.
Now he realized how useful a credential representing Dragon Rise could be; it would certainly intimidate some people.
Faced with today’s situation, if he had shown a Dragon Rise ID, would anyone dare to give them trouble anymore?
Without the Dragon Rise ID, Luo Ziling could only take out the gun permit he got through Dragon Rise, hoping it would convey his extraordinary status and prevent further harassment.
The leading uniformed man did not expect Luo Ziling to present a gun permit and was taken aback.
He took Luo Ziling’s gun permit, scrutinized it carefully, and used his colleague’s police device to scan the security code to verify its authenticity. The result startled him, and he quickly returned the gun permit to Luo Ziling.
But his suspicions weren’t alleviated; he still insisted Luo Ziling comply with their inspection. “Comrade, it’s easy to prove you’re not involved in any prostitution or drug activities. Just let us verify your identities, and if you can state each other’s names, the matter can be resolved,” he said.
At that moment, the uniformed man’s phone rang. Upon seeing the caller ID, he immediately picked up the call, momentarily ignoring Luo Ziling. After a few words, the man’s expression changed dramatically. He agreed several times, assured the caller, and then hung up.
“Sorry for the disturbance,” the man came back and immediately apologized to Luo Ziling, “It seems there’s been a mistake.”
After apologizing to Luo Ziling, the man quickly ordered the others to leave the scene.
Soon, the room’s entrance returned to calm as the group dispersed.
Luo Ziling muttered in annoyance, then closed the door.
He walked back into the room to find Yang Qingyin sitting on the sofa, her cellphone tossed aside.
“Hey, you made the call, didn’t you? Otherwise they wouldn’t have left right after taking a phone call,” Luo Ziling quickly understood that it must have been Yang Qingyin who made a call from the room, resulting in the situation’s resolution.
“I just had Xiaoli look into the matter. It’s disgusting that someone would play us like this,” Yang Qingyin’s face was grim, “Someone found out we checked into this hotel together and wanted to embarrass us, to make us lose face.”
“Should no one have known our whereabouts,” Luo Ziling voiced his doubts, then hesitated before adding, “Could it be that my ID number has been flagged, and as soon as we registered at the hotel, they were alerted?”
“That must be it. No other explanation fits the coincidence. We weren’t followed from school, were we? If not, then surveillance must be through my flagged ID number,” Yang Qingyin affirmed Luo Ziling’s guess, “Or, can you figure out a way to hide your ID information, or maybe tweak it? Perhaps change the ID number?”
“I’ll see if I can change it,” Luo Ziling nodded, accepting Yang Qingyin’s suggestion, “And I want to know who is trying to mess with us.”
Luo Ziling said this as he pulled out his cellphone and called Wang Zhenjun to describe what had just happened.
Wang Zhenjun agreed that someone must have locked onto Luo Ziling’s ID information, and whenever it was used to check into a hotel or for other purposes, the people monitoring him would be alerted.
Feeling quite alarmed by Wang Zhenjun’s response, Luo Ziling immediately asked if it was possible to trace who was behind tonight’s incident and if his ID information could be protected to prevent further surveillance.
After some thought, Wang Zhenjun replied, “Comrade young master, your first request might be difficult to fulfill, but the second one is quite simple. I will shield your ID information right away. While I’m at it, I’ll check who’s monitoring your info. If I find out, I might be able to help with your first request.”
“Good, get on it as soon as you can!” Luo Ziling was suddenly excited, realizing that Wang Zhenjun might be much more capable than he had thought.
