The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse
Chapter 804 - 804: Rebirth of the Yin-Yang Sisters (6)From the start of the tribulation, Linx and Jinx went from one trial to the next, testing every aspect of their nature.
It showed how yin and yang worked and how to overcome the limitations that could prevent them from growing stronger.
At every turn, they faced an obstacle that had to be overcome. They went from a mind test to a soul test, and while they might have said it was simple, the truth was that it was anything but easy.
First, they had to avoid being overwhelmed, or their minds would break down during the mental attack.
But when it was a soul attack, they had to prevent their souls from being overwhelmed. It was a harrowing battle of nature and aspects.
The fifth form of the tribulation was designed to test their souls, focusing on every doubt.
Every lie. Every act of hesitation. Every time Linx or Jinx hesitated, failed to protect, or acted selfishly. Even moments they had forgotten were written clearly.
This was recorded in a blank book held by the figure that appeared in the fifth tribulation. The more it was filled, the heavier the burden became—until they couldn’t carry it anymore.
That would be when everything would end for them.
Thankfully, the two sisters knew how to share each other’s burdens, so while one couldn’t carry everything, if they became one, they could help each other.
That worked, allowing them to pass the fifth form of the tribulation.
However, the moment they passed the fifth, the sixth appeared, and while Klaus expected something simple, the heavens had different ideas.
If the fourth tested their minds and the fifth tested their souls, then the sixth tested their fate. It targeted their bond, and the weapon it used was trust.
The outcome of the sixth tribulation would depend on how strong their bonds were. In fact, the main purpose of the sixth tribulation was to shatter those bonds.
And to make it literal, the sixth tribulation arrived with a sudden shatter of the heavens.
A jagged line split the sky from one end to the other, and through that opening, a silver mist poured down. The world turned pale. Color drained from the air. The trees below shimmered as if fading from memory.
Even Linx and Jinx’s clothes began to blur. The same effect spread far and wide, covering even Klaus and the onlookers who weren’t part of the tribulation.
Of course, while this was just the true nature of the sixth tribulation, Queen Lunara, who was seated and comprehending the laws, felt something click within her.
This immediately caused her to enter a state of enlightenment, bringing a smile to Pickle Berry’s face. However, she said nothing, considering the sixth tribulation was still manifesting its true form.
The air lost weight. Sound vanished again.
Time itself slowed or appeared to slow down.
And from the crack, a single figure emerged. This was the true form of the sixth tribulation.
A figure appeared, and she looked like Linx.
Same face. Same sword. Same eyes.
Then another figure followed.
It was Jinx.
But colder. Sharper. Her daggers dripped with shadow.
These weren’t illusions. They were reflections. It was created from them but with a touch of divine energy.
Without much delay, the new arrivals attacked the two sisters, forcing Linx and Jinx into action.
The sixth tribulation was meant to test their bond. It wanted to see how united they were, how much they trusted each other, and whether they could leave their backs to one another.
It was a fierce clash that lasted ten long minutes. Linx and Jinx could only endure the brutal attacks from their reflections.
However, thanks to the bond they shared, they managed to come up with what had to be done—and that was simply a promise.
The concept of yin and yang goes hand in hand.
This meant that the moment they broke the connection they shared, they would never be connected again. So, their promise was never to break this sacred connection.
Of course, while it was merely a promise, they had to mean it—and for them, that wasn’t too hard.
When Ant Queen Remy made them, they were the only two who came out different. Their existence was special because, while thousands of ants were born, they emerged unlike any other.
This showed that they were special from the very beginning, and the bond they shared since day one helped them pass the sixth tribulation.
Their promise, the bond they share, and everything about them helped them pass the 6th trial.
However, while they would have loved to celebrate, the arrival of the seventh—and final—tribulation made their faces pale. That was also when Klaus knew he had to make a move.
The seventh tribulation descended, and high in the sky, a massive scythe made of lightning appeared, slowly cutting toward the two ladies who were locked in place.
“The Destiny-Severing Scythe,” Pickle Berry said, narrowing her eyes at it. “Though this is just a replica, it’s still a scythe that severs destiny itself.
But that shouldn’t be possible. It has never appeared in a yin-yang tribulation. In fact, it shouldn’t appear in a tribulation within an unawakened world.”
“That’s the thing, Pickle Berry—the heavens never learn.” Klaus wore a mocking smile as he stared at the sky.
He then turned to Asha, who was panicking, seeing that Linx and Jinx were frozen in place, unable even to defend themselves.
“Don’t panic. I already told you, with me here, the heavens don’t stand a chance.” Klaus took out the cauldron and handed it to Asha.
“I’ll lend you my ultimate weapon for today. You already know what needs to be done.”
The heavens had made one mistake, and that was allowing the tribulation to happen inside Asha’s domain, where, just by thought, she could alter anything.
Now, with the cauldron in her possession, she simply willed it, and it appeared around Linx and Jinx, completely shielding them from the scythe.
The heavens roared, but since they had already broken the rules, they no longer had the right to act. So the scythe fell—and the cauldron blocked it, making the two sisters sigh in their hearts as they felt the final burden lift from their chests.
At that moment, they rose into the sky as a yin-yang diagram appeared beneath them, forming a black and white cocoon around their bodies.
Linx was wrapped in a white cocoon, and Jinx in a black one.
The tribulation was over.
The rebirth ceremony had begun.
