The dragon's harem

Chapter 1141 - 1141: Clash of Chaos

Merlin looked around, her face twisted into a stern frown. The abominations surrounded them from all directions. She can’t take Arad and Zephyr to safety.

With a single flick of her fingers, a large barrier covered Arad and Zephyr. The barrier protected them from both the cold and the potential attacks of the abominations, as long as those attacks weren’t too powerful.

Merlin and Betty stood there, facing the horde of monsters that showed up out of nowhere. They sensed the heart and waited for Arad to weaken; their intentions were clear enough.

“How long could we last?” Merlin asked, her eyes darting around to scan the abominations. All of them were just too powerful. Even the one that Betty seemed to have killed: He had just shown back up among the horde. She couldn’t even guess how he survived.

“Not long.” Suddenly, an oppressive feeling washed over the whole mountain, and the two felt their hearts sink. From the darkness of the shadows around them, Kayden walked out, his six eyes burning with malice and madness.

The abominations took a step back, taken aback by his sudden appearance. And just behind him, a little girl with pink hair walked out, her tiny feet sinking into the snow, but when her eyes landed on the abominations, their fear grew larger and larger. But… she ignored them and walked toward Arad, knelt beside his head, and stared at his shriveled, dead face.

“Arad…” She mumbled, “Rest well.” And then stood with a calm face, but her eyes were burning with a hellish pink flame. Soon, her whole body shifted, growing taller, her skin turned blue, and more arms grew from her sides.

Kayden looked at her and then back at the abominations, “Some are tough.” He could see that among those one hundred abominations, at least ten of them were enough to cause a lot of trouble. What’s more, they can’t just teleport them to a safe place where they can fight.

“I know, they also took measures.” Kali sighed. They can’t fight freely here, the beast kingdom is below them with millions and millions of innocent lives. This clash could destroy the whole world, let alone a single kingdom. Kayden and Kali had to spend most of their power protecting the world and making sure those abominations don’t destroy it.

But there was one massive problem: Kayden and Kali knew only one thing, how to destroy. Their attacks were most likely to cause more damage than the abomination ever could. The two of them thought deeply about what they should do in this situation.

A second later, they weren’t alone. Hati was already hiding beneath the mountain and trying to form a barrier to encase everyone, making it easier for them to fight. And as if trying to ring the bell of war, a large shadow flew down from the heavens and landed on the mountain’s peak, her mere presence freezing the heavy rain into hail.

Gamond gave Arad a single glance, and her eyes burned with rage. Without wasting a second or caring about any mortal life, she opened her jaw and unleashed the biggest, most powerful breath she could ever muster at the horde of abomination.

The whole world’s temperature started to drop rapidly as all hell broke loose. The war itself didn’t last more than a minute, and in it, Merlin saw true madness. The abominations’ strange powers, Kayden’s deadly moves, Kali’s unhinged violence, Gamond’s careless violence, Betty’s blinding speed, and the strange black tentacles that exploded from the ground and started ripping the abominations apart, and eating them.

Merlin was exhausted and battered after putting her all into keeping the Yog’s magic at bay. All she could do now was do her best to keep the barrier protecting Arad and Zephyr standing, but even that was about to shatter from the clash of horrid powers in the sky.

Five seconds after the fight started, Merlin could see Eris, Merida, and Lunara joining the fight. Albeit their attacks could barely be noticed in the raging hell, they were decent enough to distract the horrors and allow Kayden and Kali to kill some with ease.

Each passing second felt like an eternity, and by that time, countless powerhouses of the world were already approaching the land of the disaster. The first responders were all dragons, great wyrms who had been slumbering all around the beast lands. It didn’t matter if they were metallic or chromatic; the common threat of abomination put them all on the same team.

Fifteen seconds into the fight, and the sky was already burning red with blood and fire. It was already impossible for Merlin’s eye to understand what was going on, besides the fact that Eris, Merida, and Lunara had retreated down, severely injured and exhausted. They landed beside Merlin. “How is Arad?” Eris growled, her wounds already healed, but her face looked as pale as the snow.

“Arad needs a safe space to hibernate…Zephyr, I’m not a healer, but she looks unconscious.” Merlin gasped, and her eyes shifted back to the other two. Merida had a large gaping wound across her abdomen, and she could see her organs, but the girl didn’t seem bothered at all. Lunara, on the other hand, had one of her legs missing, and she was already bruised all over and in her released form, no less.

“How is the fight going?”

Eris looked up with a terrified face, “Not well. Kayden and Kali can’t go all out, and Betty is barely keeping up thanks to her speed.” She looked at Merlin, “I faced a monster that seemed to grow stronger the more their targets bled, but I soon realised that it didn’t need the target to bleed. The abomination cut itself and made itself bleed, which made him powerful enough that I couldn’t do anything.”

Lunara looked at her with a pale face, “Me? I tried to kick one and my damned leg exploded. Bastared reflected all the force of my kick back at me.”

“And you?” Lunara looked at Merida and got a surprising response. “That ugly rose woman I faced seemed weak at first, I slashed her to pieces. But she then sent one of those pieces, and it pierced my torso and started growing inside me. I had to cut myself open and throw her out.”

“What manner of power do those things have?” Merlin gasped, and a voice replied from the snow.

“We’re abominations, creatures unbound by your common power and magic.” From the snow, a large creature burst out. It looked like a yeti, but only as tall as a human. It had four arms, eight eyes, two massive black wings, and a chest filled with countless human faces. “I, for example, the more women are around, the stronger I get, the more terrified and hopeless they get, the more power I can draw from eating them.”

But before he could, a hand extended forward, and he froze. The hand was long, thin, and shriveled. The abomination gasped, “You… you’re awake?!” Arad’s lifeless body stood there, his empty eye sockets burned with endless darkness as they glared at the creature.

The abomination tried to back away, but Arad’s fingers were locked like the jaws of a vice.

As the abomination’ pained screams echoed into the sky, the battle halted. Everyone looked down and saw the monstrous creature crying, his body slowly getting consumed by a humanoid mass of darkness.

Soon, no one could even remember that the abomination even existed. The abominations only attacked because they were certain Arad wouldn’t wake up, but now that he did, they were in a really bad situation.

“He is just sleepwalking! Ignore him; anything that can harm us would kill everyone beneath the mountain. He won’t dare do it!” One of the abominations, apparently their strongest, growled. From what Eris could guess, he was either rank 11 or 12, far too powerful for anyone to face without causing a disaster.

“No…outsider. I’m not going to play by your rules.” Suddenly, Arad spoke, his voice as cold as the snow around him. Soon, all of the [Ho-white Nova]’s he had stored inside his stomach burst out, threatening to nuke not just the beast kingdom, but all those around it.
