System's POV
Chapter 1063 - 1063: An Enemy That One Mustn’t Provoke [Part 2]From the moment that she bound Zia, Ristella had paid close attention to her reaction.
She even purposely tightened the chains, deliberately inflicting great pain on the young lady whose life and death were in her hands.
But from the beginning until now, Zia’s face showed no reaction—no pain, no fear, no nothing. Only indifference.
Ristella could also sense the bodily functions of anyone wrapped by her chains, including their heartbeat.
This meant that, if Zia had been merely acting to look calm on the surface, she’d be able to tell if the teenager actually felt nervous inside.
However, the young lady’s heart was beating normally, and despite the pain she was feeling, she wasn’t showing any reaction, both inside and out, which puzzled Ristella.
“You must be thinking that I won’t really kill you, huh?” Ristella asked, ignoring the two succubus princesses who were trying to free Zia from her chains using their bare hands.
“Aunt, what are you doing?!” Princess Xynalia shouted in anger. “Release Zia now!”
“Aunt, don’t do this,” Princess Laventia said. “Please calm down and think things over!”
Both succubus princesses wanted to free the young lady, but for different reasons.
Princess Xynalia didn’t want Zion to get hurt in any way due to her complicated feelings for him.
Princess Laventia, on the other hand, was actually deathly afraid that Zion would miraculously escape the binding and seek revenge on their family later.
“Calm down, the two of you,” Zia said to calm the two princesses. “You don’t have to worry. I can kill your Aunt before she even has the chance to kill me. In fact, I can wipe out this entire city if I wish. Have you forgotten what I did to the Jinns when I first came to this city?”
The countless beams of light that descended from the sky might have happened weeks ago, but it was a very memorable event no witness could possibly forget.
Zia’s voice sounded eerily calm, as if all the pain she was feeling right now was nothing compared to what she had been through all her life.
Ristella, who was about to inflict more pain on Zia to call her bluff, suddenly felt a chill run down her spine as two powerful beings locked down on her existence, ready to erase her before she could even blink.
The succubus had been in the presence of a Majin King and a Majin Queen in the past.
She only heard about Celestial and Fiends, but this was still a realm that she had yet to witness with her own eyes.
However, she was certain that the two powerful beings, who had locked her in place, were far more powerful and far more dangerous than any Celestial or Fiend in existence.
“What’s wrong?” Zia asked in a teasing tone. “Would you like to try dying once?”
Ristella actually felt that she was only moments away from death, and what little willpower was left in her was used to dispel the chains that bound Zia’s body.
“I was just testing you,” Ristella said. “And you passed the test.”
She didn’t lie.
She really didn’t plan on killing Zia and merely wanted to show her niece that she shouldn’t be overly afraid of the young lady since the other party was just a mortal who could easily die once captured by the enemy.
Princess Xynalia hurriedly made Zia drink some high-grade potions to cure the red marks that were now visible in her body due to how tight the chains were.
“Aunt, you’ve gone too far this time,” Princess Laventia glared at her Aunt, whose face had turned a bit pale due to the frightening experience that she experienced first hand.
Once she regained her composure, she gave Zia a long and hard look.
“Who are you?” Ristella asked. “Just who are you?”
“Right now, I am Zia,” Zia replied. “That’s all you need to know. So, what do you think? Are you going to join my side, or are you going to join the other side?”
“Can I have time to think about it?” Ristella inquired.
“Sure.” Zia nodded as the two sisters continued to pour healing potions on her, not caring if her dress became wet.
The restrictions on her body prevented healing magic from working properly, and potions didn’t really do much to him unless they were of the divine grade.
Fortunately, her succubus form had a regeneration ability. Still, it was not working fast enough to remove all traces of the chains that bound her tightly.
“Why are your injuries healing very slowly?” Princess Xynalia asked, thinking that the high-grade potion she used was defective.
“It’s alright,” Thirteen said. “If someone asked, I’ll just say that I just did some bondage play on myself.”
Zia then eyed Ristella, who had now regained a bit of color in her face.
“I know that you really have no intention of killing me,” Zia said. “You only did that to make your nieces understand that I am not someone that they should fear, right?”
“Yes,” Ristella answered. “I’m sorry that I went too far.”
“It’s fine,” Zia replied. “Just remember I won’t be lenient a second time, okay?”
“I’ll keep that in mind.” Ristella did her best to keep her voice from breaking.
There were some people she didn’t dare to offend, and one more had just been added to that list.
“I think it will be best if you don’t go to the party in your state,” Princess Xynalia looked at the bruises that now covered the young lady’s delicate skin.
She was still very angry with her aunt for subjecting Zia to great pain just to get her point across to them.
“”No.””
Zia and Ristella replied at the same time.
“I need to attend the party at all costs,” Zia stated.
“She needs to be there,” Ristella commented.
The two glanced at each other before nodding at the same time.
Both understood how important this banquet was, and not going was not an option.
“Just get me a black dress that can cover most of my body,” Zia said. “Also, get me one of those evening gloves that can cover most of my arms. That should do the trick—at least for now. Make sure it’s black in color.”
The three succubus then worked together to make Zia look presentable.
They managed to cover most of her injuries, which were slowly regenerating from under her clothes.
After doing whatever they could, the three succubus then headed toward the residence of the Dragonkin Prince, who were now having a comfortable chat with the Artemians, who had come as their guests of honor.
