Chapter 3069: Just 25 More Days to Go

For an ordinary person, surviving on this island would be extremely difficult, let alone surviving here for an entire month.

Surveillance cameras with flashing red lights were positioned all around her, recording her every move.

Ning Shu ignored the cameras entirely. All she was thinking about now was getting out of here.

Just 25 more days to go.

She remained skeptical about the promised ten million.

It’d be a miracle if this program didn’t have some kind of trick behind it. Why would they just hand over ten million so easily?

Then again, the entrustor had been extremely desperate. She didn’t know what else to do. That was what had forced her to take this gamble despite everything.

After all, she had no way of affording the exorbitant cost of surgery. Life was just that cruel.

Selling her body wasn’t an option either—it wouldn’t help at all.

Ning Shu focused on her cultivation and barely moved around. She stayed within the same area, and ever since being bitten by a snake, nothing else had happened to her.

Thanks to the fasting pill, she didn’t feel hungry. However, under the watchful eyes of the cameras, she had to at least pretend to eat something—so she grabbed some termites to eat.

These termites were rich in protein and nutrients.

Eating ants was far better than eating bugs. Bugs had an unbearable texture. When she bit into one, its juices would explode in her mouth.

Dear god.

Although if they were deep-fried to a crispy crunch, that would be a different story.

Ning Shu ate the ants purely for show. It would be too suspicious if someone had not eaten for days yet managed to stay alive.

Even if she made it out of here alive, she’d probably end up being dissected for research.

Like the entrustor, she only drank dew collected from leaves in the morning.

At the very least, Ning Shu could control her body well enough to minimize waste elimination so she could conserve as much water in her system as possible.

She refused to reach the point where she’d have to drink her own urine.

So much for an ‘easier’ task.

Just how much of a sadist would someone have to be to come up with a show like this?

Ning Shu kept cultivating. If she really couldn’t survive on this island, she planned to swim back home.

Although she didn’t even know which direction the entrustor’s home was.

She’d probably end up drowning from exhaustion—or getting eaten by some deadly sea creature.

Mom… Why was this world so savage?

Ning Shu sat under a tree, leaning against the trunk. She had used a dagger to carve marks into it to count the days.

She had etched two tally marks, indicating that two days had passed. Adding the five days the entrustor had already endured before Ning Shu came to this task world, that made a total of seven.

Only seven days. Still 23 more to go.

The people running the show must have found her idleness unbearable.

Her walkie-talkie beeped, followed by the cold, commanding voice of a man.

“Contestant Number 15, you are now required to find your teammate.”

Ning Shu: “…”

What teammate?

They wanted her to go running around the island? Staying alive was hard enough as it was. Why should she go seek trouble when she was just fine with staying here?

What if she wandered into a dangerous area?

They were obviously trying to push her into a life-threatening situation to make the show more exciting.

Ning Shu curled her lips mockingly and stayed put against the tree.

The fact that they could communicate through a walkie-talkie meant that, besides the 20 contestants, there were also other people on the island overseeing everything.

The original rule was simple: survive for a month.

Now they suddenly wanted her to find a teammate?

Yeah, right.

Ning Shu completely ignored the command coming from the walkie-talkie.

If there were other people on the island, they were probably well-fed and comfortable. She might as well just loot them instead.
