Level 1 Core Formation…

Queen Jascia’s cultivation base continued to rise steadily, already moving past the peak of the Root Sovereign stage. The mutation formed between her standard core and the Poison core was far more impressive than one would expect.

Within half an hour, she advanced to the 9th level of the Core Formation stage and began refining her core. Unfortunately, after refining her core four times, the process came to an end.

However, she had already become someone to be feared.

Her aura had stabilized, and right now, aside from the sharpness of sword intent she used to possess, she now had potent poison qi in her aura—one that, if she wanted, could poison anyone with just her presence.

But as a swordsman, Kent knew that with the poison qi in her intent, she could become much more dangerous on the battlefield. Using it to lace her sword, she would suffocate those around her, making it much more hazardous.

‘And just like that, she had become new.’ Kent was happy for the queen, who was now recuperating.

That lasted for two hours before she opened her eyes, meeting the gaze of a teary daughter and an emotional king who never thought he would see his wife’s smile ever again.

“Mom—”

Princess Elowen struggled to find words, but she was too overcome with emotion to speak.

Vexthra and Lovina stood beside the bed, smiling, while Kent stood far back watching them. After a while, the queen finally found her voice and spoke, looking at Princess Lovina and Vexthra.

“Thank you.”

“Dont worry about it, Queen Jascia…” Princess Lovina answered…

Because she hadn’t spoken for a while, he tone was rough, but after a while her sweet voice came back to her. That one she had a thousand years ago.

“Stop crying, Elowen, I am fine…More than fine,” She spoke, brushing her hand through Princess Elowwn’s hair. Of course, the poor princess could only cry her eyes out, making the queen turn to her husband.

She smiled, “Brat…Looks like you are doing well…Your aura even changed…what happened?”

The king smiled, shaking his head as a tear fell from his eyes.

Hearing his wife return to her previous self made her very emotional. Never once did she call him by his real name. From the day they met to when she took the dagger for him, she had always called him ‘brat’.

If she were to call him by his real name, he would have realised she wasn’t fully well and requested Lovina to take another look at her, just to be sure. But the signature name ignited the flames of his emotion, drawing out hidden emotions.

“Almost dying on me changed a few things…Now I can hold my own in combat if that is what you want to hear,” King Thalirion replied with a smile.

“I guess we will see in a few days…For now, I have to find that bastard and kill him.”

And finally, the queen is back.

While most queens hide in their throne room, manipulating events, she likes to be on the battlefield, slaughtering monsters and enemies alike.

So, hearing her plans for the next few days didn’t come as a surprise to King Thalirion. However, his smile was that of a guilty one as he turned and looked at Kent, who was also smiling.

“I am sorry, Queem Jascia, the blade whisperer is dead,” Kent responded from the back, causing the queen to take a deep sigh.

“Did he suffer?” She asked

“Not quite, but if there is any consolation, I have plans to visit the underworld in the future, perhaps I will add more to his suffering then.”

The queen smiled while the king shuddered.

“Thank you.”

“Anytime”

Just like that, two evil beings agreed, causing the king to imagine what awaited Kenji when Kent truly finds him in the underworld. Of course, he doesn’t want to talk about it, but he wondered what his wife would have done if Kenji were still alive.

‘I guess Kent saved me a whole lot of nightmares. Knowing her, she would have relished the torture to the point I would have had to beg her to end it. This is a good outcome, though an evil one.’

After a few more pleasantries were exchanged, the King called Kent out and handed him a token, “This is your token to enter the competition tomorrow.

Had I not announced there would be five slots, I would have given you one, considering the competition might waste your time.”

“Dont worry about it. I am just 21 years old, things like this should be what I should invest my time in.” Kent smiled, taking the token.

The king nodded.

“I will be going back to the palace. I have a few things to discuss with the Elders…and no, you don’t have to be there…go spend time with your family”

The king nodded and went back inside. A second later, Vexthra and Lovina walked out and joined Kent as they moved back to the palace.

“Good Job, Lovina, you did well,” Kent praised Lovina, who smiled.

“So, when are you moving to the second floor?” Kent asked Vexthra.

“The moment we return. We’ve already found all we could on the first floor, so we will move to the second and clear it as quickly as possible. Unity is the priority now, so we want to help her to the best of our abilities.”

“That is good. When the eight new Undead join in 11 days, the speed of searching will hasten. But I will be coming around when I have nothing to do.”

“Dont worry about us, Kent. Just focus on your things. You’ve been here for less than a day, but you’ve already made a significant impact. I wonder what would become of you after a week,” Vexthra said with a chuckle.

“No need to be jealous, Vex, you are a goddess…” Kent teased, and Vexthra pinched his nose

Lovina laughed.

When they got back to the Palace, the elders quickly bombarded them with questions. They were eager to know whether the queen was well.

“The queen is cured. She needs to rest for a few hours, and she will be back on her feet.”
