Nine Star Hegemon Body Art

Chapter 5702: I’m Very Angry

A figure with black robes and shoulder-length black hair stood there. An enormous, sinister saber rested on his shoulder, and the saber’s dark aura mirrored the expression on his face—handsome, yet terrifyingly grim. Chilling killing intent radiated from them.

When Long Chen appeared, the battlefield fell deathly silent. He stood atop the Yellow Spring Blood Crocodile’s head, his presence alone enough to freeze the monstrous beast in place. It shuddered violently, as if it could not withstand the terror he exuded.

“You dared to bully my brothers. I… am very angry.”

Long Chen slowly lowered Evilmoon, its tip hovering just above the Yellow Spring Blood Crocodile's skull.

Seeing this, Li Changgeng shot toward Long Chen like a bolt of lightning.

Long Chen simply raised his left hand, and a massive golden rune, bearing the character “Defend,” emerged and repelled Li Changgeng.

The Yellow Spring Blood Crocodile shuddered intensely as it tried to break free, but it seemed to have lost control over its body.

Evilmoon’s light flared.

A colossal saber-image erupted forth, cleaving straight through the Yellow Spring Blood Crocodile’s skull. Its body stiffened, then collapsed lifelessly.

The moment the beast perished, the net that bound Wilde lost its power. With a single burst of strength, he tore free.

When Wilde saw Long Chen, he shouted excitedly and ran over like a child.

"Good brother, I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you well. Here, take this snack for now. Watch as big brother Long avenges you,” Long Chen said, his voice carrying an unusual gentleness as he handed Wilde the Yellow Spring Blood Crocodile’s corpse.

Wilde excitedly grabbed it. The beast’s flesh was the most delicious and energy-rich food he had ever encountered.

Bai Xiaole quickly activated his spatial abilities, pulling Wilde back to their ranks. Even the Ten Thousand Dragon Nest quietly distanced itself, unwilling to get caught in the storm about to unfold.

Meanwhile, Long Chen found himself surrounded by countless experts.

“Long Chen, you are strong, but you can’t defeat all of us on your own—especially while protecting your subordinates. I have a proposal. Hand over the Emperor Blood Crystal, and I’ll help you cut down your opponent before leaving. How about it?" the fat woman suggested, her voice dripping with cunning.

Long Chen raised his hand. Lightning crackled, and the corpses littering the battlefield vanished in an instant.

However, the fat woman didn’t say a word in response to that. Instead, she was looking at Yue Changfeng.

The “opponent” she referred to—Yue Changfeng—stiffened. A dark expression crossed his face as he realized he was being treated as nothing more than a bargaining chip. That was the greatest insult he had ever heard.

However, before he could curse the fatass, Long Chen replied, “That fellow is nothing more than some small fry. His life and death are as insignificant as a fleeting thought. You can’t use him as a chip.”

"You!" Yue Changfeng roared, his veins bulging with indignation. After all, he was a fellow thirteen-vein expert!

In the distance, a woman clad in golden armor gazed at Long Chen, tears streaming down her face.

“It’s over. It’s all over... Why is he so stupid…” Lu Qingshuang whispered, clenching her fists so tightly that her nails pierced her palms. Guilt, helplessness, and regret flooded her heart.

If only she had been stronger. If only she had been wiser. If only she had kept the Dark Golden Battle Armor instead of handing it to Yue Changfeng… If she had done so, perhaps she would have been the one to condense thirteen veins. Perhaps… she could have saved all her slain comrades, changing their fate.

But in this world, there were no “ifs.”

As she met Long Chen’s cold, murderous gaze, she could already see the inevitable conclusion.

Beyond the battlefield, within the encampment of the four divine clans, Jiang Yue’e and Feng Fei silently observed Long Chen.

Jiang Yue’e sighed. “Perhaps we should have intervened earlier, then we might have earned a favor from him.”

Feng Fei shook her head. She said, “There’s a difference between appearing to help and actually helping. The Dragonblood Legion hadn’t yet reached the point of no return, so there was no need for us to interfere. If we joined too early, our motives would be all too obvious. That would only make Long Chen wary of us. If you want to get close to Long Chen, you have to do it sincerely—without pretense.”

Long Tianrui was also present in the camp of the divine clans. She quietly watched the battlefield, her eyes shimmering with anticipation. She harbored an almost blind confidence in Long Chen.

Of the four divine clans, only Long Zaiye had entered the battlefield. However, he represented only himself, not the Long clan.

After all, Long Chen could also count as a member of the Long clan. Though Long Zaiye had his own followers, they weren’t fools. They wouldn’t recklessly throw themselves into a conflict without knowing who held the upper hand. Choosing the wrong side in this battle could have disastrous consequences.

Furthermore, this was a personal grievance between Long Zaiye and Long Chen, and it wasn’t proper for outsiders to interfere. Thus, Long Zaiye’s followers were happy to just watch.

“Although Long Chen has come out and used some kind of secret art to kill that terrifying Yellow Spring Blood Crocodile, his opponents are too strong. I’m guessing that both sides will end up taking casualties and flee in the end,” remarked Jiang Yue’e.

Seeing Feng Fei looking at her oddly, Jiang Yue’e asked, “What? Do you have a different analysis?”

“What is your analysis based on?”

Jiang Yue’e answered, “When Long Chen attacked, he immediately eliminated Li Changgeng’s Yellow Spring Blood Crocodile. That means he recognized the greatest threat to himself. That alone suggests he isn’t absolutely confident in victory. Look at his opponents—Fantian De, Li Changgeng, Netherdragon Tianfeng, Long Zaiye, the sea demon woman, and Yue Changfeng—six supreme monsters. Even if the Dragonblood Legion can fight back, their enemies have countless followers. Just look at the sea demon army. Despite suffering heavy casualties, their numbers remain overwhelming. Once they charge, Long Chen won’t be able to hold out. That’s why I believe both sides will retreat after a brief clash. What’s wrong with that assessment? And what’s with that look?”

Seeing Feng Fei’s expression, Jiang Yue’e was a bit displeased.

Feng Fei shook her head. “Big sister, my dear sister, your talent lies in cultivation. You shouldn’t waste time with tactics and strategy. Your entire analysis is wrong.”

“How so?” asked Jiang Yue’e stubbornly.

Feng Fei solemnly replied, “Long Chen has never been one to weigh pros and cons. His brothers were humiliated. His women were injured. If he lets these people walk away today, then I, Feng Fei, will write my name backward.”

Jiang Yue’e raised an eyebrow. “Really?”

“Look, Long Chen is moving!” urged Feng Fei.

At that moment, surrounded by countless enemies, Long Chen slowly raised his left hand. His fingers curled—his middle finger and thumb pressing together.

Two clumps of flame appeared at his fingertips, and a scorching heat instantly spread throughout the entire battlefield.

“Those are…!”

Jiang Yue’e gasped, covering her mouth in shock.
