MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
Chapter 1453 - 1453: Myriad Prodigies: Private Discussions“…We’ll be taking our leave first then, Director.”
Giving Lunarossa a smile of gratitude, Julian and the three other arbiters slowly made their way out of the room, leaving only the director and the two within the room.
After Valyr and Ataraxia accepted her offer of becoming part of the Meltierre Imperial Guards, Lunarossa quickly got to work fulfilling some of the promises she made in her offer, giving both of them the rank of Imperial Baron without hesitation.
Once that was done, the two went ahead and asked her a bit more about the things they’d have to do now that they were a part of her organization.
However, considering that there were still other people within the room, Lunarossa only revealed information that she didn’t mind sharing, which the two of them quickly understood.
After that, the director proceeded to ask the four arbiters if they had any offers to the two of them, seeing as the current situation was the greatest opportunity for them to recruit two incredibly talented individuals into their organization.
Although they didn’t hold that much hope into the two of them accepting their terms, the four went ahead and pitched their offers either way, discussing the benefits they would obtain if they were to join their organization.
In the end, both Valyr and Ataraxia had accepted one of the four arbiters’ invitations to their organizations, with the former accepting Eliathaea’s invitation to the Mercenary Guild.
On the other hand, Ataraxia accepted Liam’s offer of becoming a Lieutenant Colonel for the kingdom’s military, which was actually one rank higher than the original offer the man had in mind.
Seeing as Valyr was already a part of the Blacksmith Guild, Julian had no problem with the fact that the two of them declined his offer. After all, with how much time he spent with the young man, he could contact Valyr at any time.
And by extension, the same went for the young man’s student.
With that being said, the only one that didn’t gain anything from the situation was Erika, with both Valyr and Ataraxia vehemently refusing the offers she had made to the two to the kingdom’s 7th Magic Tower.
In fact, she had improved the conditions to her offer after being faced by their rejection, the benefits already reaching a level where even a talented prodigy would salivate at the thought of it.
Yet, as if they’ve already come to an agreement before then, the two continued to reject Erika’s offer, prompting her to look at the two with a dark gaze as she and the other three left.
Bang!
Watching the large steel door close behind them, Valyr and Ataraxia soon looked back at Lunarossa, their expressions containing a hint of curiosity.
“You’re wondering why I asked you to stay behind, right?” she asked them, a slight teasing smile hanging on the edge of her lips.
Seeing the two nod in response, the director decided not to beat around the bush as her expression became solemn.
“If I told you Mystia asked me to choreograph this meeting, would you believe me?”
“Miss Mystia?” said Valyr in response, the gears in his mind madly turning as he tried to wrap his head around the current situation.
“…Does that mean the invitation to be a part of the Meltierre Imperial Guards was just for show, then?” asked Ataraxia after some time, feeling like it was something Mystia would do.
“Of course not,” answered the director with a shake of her head. “My intention to invite you into the Imperial Guards is genuine. Your talents shouldn’t be confined to a mere kingdom.”
“However, she really did ask me to choreograph this meeting between us before the tournament.”
“Does that mean she also asked you to keep an eye on that person, Director?” asked Valyr in response, conjuring a barrier around them afterwards to make sure nothing from their conversation would leak out.
Whoosh!
Seeing the young man conjure a barrier all of a sudden, Ataraxia went ahead and overlaid his own barrier on top of it, making use of the properties of Lesser Arcana to its fullest to improve the barrier’s soundproofing capabilities.
Yet, just as they thought the conversation would continue after that, the two instead watched Lunarossa overlap her own barrier onto theirs, pretty much guaranteeing that none of their conversation would leak out from this point onward.
“If you’re talking about the current king’s half-sister, then yes,” said Lunarossa to the two after some time, confirming their suspicions. “I was the first one she asked to investigate the matter, actually.”
“Oh?” At those words, the two briefly thought back to the conversation they had with Mystia on the matter, which was over a few months ago.
The director nodded in confirmation. “At first, I thought my authority I would have on the tournament alone would be enough to expose her true identity.”
“However, when I thought about it a bit more, I eventually suggested to Mystia to enlist the help of people who would actually participate in the tournament. After all, Erika’s aim is not the tournament itself, but the people who’d be participating in it.”
“Which is where you two come in.”
After that, the three went ahead and shared all of the information they’ve obtained on Erika with one another, allowing them to gradually fill in the blanks that appeared whenever they investigated her before the tournament.
Of course, the gazes Erika had given both Valyr and Ataraxia left Lunarossa at a loss for words, not expecting that their target would have already made their move before the tournament could even reach its climax.
On the other hand, the information Lunarossa shared with them on Erika’s behavior throughout the tournament made them more solemn, the gears in their minds turning as the two became more confident of the hunch they had.
The hunch… that they knew the organization Erika was a part of.
“…I’ve already sent Mystia all of the information we’ve shared just now,” said Lunarossa to both of them after some time, prompting the two to nod in response.
“If you have anything else you want me to relay to her right now, you could do so.”
“Well…” Deliberating over his thoughts for a bit, Valyr eventually decided to act upon the thought both he and Ataraxia shared. “We’re still not too certain of this, but we might have just deduced the organization Erika’s working for.”
“The organization she’s working for?” The woman’s eyes widened in disbelief at those words.
Though, just she began to feel a bit of excitement and relief over his words, Lunarossa quickly took a calming breath, allowing her to return to her previous solemn expression.
“Although this information would definitely help in the investigation if true, do you have any evidence to back up your claim?”
“I do not.” Valyr admitted outright, causing the latter to slightly frown. “However, I still think knowing of this organization would help us out later on.”
“…Alright then.” Pondering over it for a bit, Lunarossa eventually acquiesced. “Which organization is Erika working for?”
Hearing her question, the young man responded to it with a question of his own.
“Have you heard… of the Fallen Scarlet Sanctum?”
