Chapter 1124: 1124 Event Sidetracked

With no formal plans, most of the dinners were served in the guest suites, including Wolfe’s as he relaxed in the movie theatre with half of the Pentacle members.

They had all gathered to plan their outfits for the evening, and for the ones who weren’t the best at decorative armour spells to get some assistance to create a properly beautiful gown over a simple base.

That naturally meant that Wolfe was involved, as he had the finest grasp of the technique.

But now that the witches were all Saints, they were no slouches either. Some of them had great skills at fashion design, and while Wolfe was great at creating outfits, they had a lot more creativity in their designs than he did.

Making twenty-five different outfits that matched their personalities while all containing something silver, even if it was just a necklace or bracelet, was no small task before a formal event.

Everyone swore that the next time they held one of these they would plan outfits weeks in advance, but this time they had only planned the ones for tomorrow’s actual coronation ceremony, where the leaders would formally swear loyalty to the King.

With all the planning that went into that, they had not realized that tonight’s dance party would turn into the dating event of the year, as well as a much more formal party than they had intended.

“Is there a reason to go with silver as the unifying colour?” Wolfe asked.

“For one, it’s a colour that you wear all the time in your Patriarch Robes. But more importantly, as so many of us have brightly coloured hair or eyes, silver is a colour that doesn’t clash with anyone’s natural features.

It doesn’t matter if their skin is light, dark, onyx black or bone white, silver still works.”

That would be a reference to the bodyguards. Risa was wearing silver armour over black pants and blouse, while Millie and Chloe had chosen silver chain mail dresses over a black silk backing to complement their bone white skin and wings.

Wrath Demons always wore some sort of armour to formal events, and they had done a wonderful job of it today. Especially the twins, whose long white hair had black ribbons through it to help it stand out against the pale silver of the metal chain links.

Of course, if the chain wasn’t enchanted, it would be lousy armour. But the actual protection wasn’t the point of their fashion sense.

Wolfe could only imagine the chaos if someone had suggested Noxus Family green with Cassie’s Violet eyes, or Mary’s bubblegum pink hair.

Nimue and Khalifa were both wearing predominantly green with silver accents, and that looked excellent on them, but they were a half dryad and an Elf. Green was their colour.

“Should we go early to greet the guests, or later to make an entrance?” Mia asked as she finished adding extra frills to Mary’s outfit for the night.

Ella chuckled and smirked at her fellow witch. “That depends, is the new Saintess looking for a husband? Or were you planning to share mine?”

Mia blushed and stuck her tongue out at the petite tomboy, whose blue hair was freshly trimmed into what the Fae called a Faerie cut, as Pixies didn’t wear their hair that way.

“You know, we’d all rather share yours. I understand now why the Covens kept the men out of politics. Two dozen spouses of the leaders all jockeying for influence is way more hassle than I’m willing to deal with.

Besides, now that you two have the heirs to the Family coming, there is no reason that the rest of us can’t have a share of the mana draw sexy time, right?”

Her words were bold, but her face was flushed bright red all the way to her ears, which made Wolfe and most of the other Witches laugh.

Lucy, the lone ginger haired human among the Pentacle members, laughed as she looked up from her book.

“I think that this is what they call ’baby fever’. Just wait until they’re born, you won’t get a moment’s peace. I personally can’t wait to find out what sort of skills you have that have inspired such loyalty from an entire city full of Witches.”

Risa raised an eyebrow at her. “You too? I thought you were the quiet bookworm sort?”

Lucy turned her book around, revealing that under the nondescript cover, it was a rather steamy romance novel she was reading.

“The primary selling point that convinced me to go along with my father’s demand to try for the Pentacles was the rumours that a Magi has perfect control over their bodily functions and never-ending stamina.” She informed the Wrathbringer with a casual smile.

Cassie gave Wolfe an unimpressed look. “If I didn’t know better, I would think that you had spread these rumours yourself, just to build your harem.”

Lucy smirked, and Drazzit snorted in amusement.

“And just how many of you lovely and innocent witches have taken direct injection power supplements from the Patriarch? It’s all of you, isn’t it? You don’t even hesitate to change clothes in front of him anymore.” The Dark Elf teased.

The witches all looked around at each other, then at Wolfe with suspicion.

Priya gave Wolfe an accusatory look. “And how many others have been in your bed?

No, scratch that. Half of them weren’t in your bed, but somewhere else.

In fact, maybe they’re right, and it really is his fault that everyone thinks the Magi King is going to get everyone’s daughter pregnant.”

“The bed is sacred. Only the most special may enter my bed. My wives, Pentacle members, cuddly Succubi.” Wolfe listed.

“And your pet cat.” Nimue added helpfully.

“Stephanie is a Pentacle member.” Wolfe reminded her.

“Right, I totally forgot that the person and the cat are the same being in different forms.” The little half dryad replied, before giving herself a dramatic forehead slap.

“Alright, we need to go before they think we’re part of the dating parade. I’m thinking we should go for a family vibe. Stephanie and Nimue, come up here with Cassie and Ella.”
