Chapter 1095: 1095 Limited Time
The King stared reverently at the charm, while the others around him laughed. His species could only use Earth Magic, so they had no way of dealing with a curse, but the spell wasn’t nearly as terrifying to most species.
One of the others, a Demon King covered in scars that didn’t feel like the Demon Realms, gave the Witches a curious look.
“If I can return here after the lingering connection fades, perhaps we could come to an agreement of sorts. Unfortunately, we only have a few minutes left before the connections will close.” He sighed.
Wolfe looked at him, and saw that the scars were created by corrupted mana that his body couldn’t deal with. It was the equivalent of using an allergen on a whip to create wounds that simply wouldn’t heal because the body was busy dealing with the allergic reaction.
With a wave of his hand, Wolfe cleansed the wayward mana from the Demon King’s system, leaving behind the scars, as his magic didn’t affect the actual body of the target.
Then he smiled at the Demon King. “If you can return, or return to the Demon Realms that are familiar with this place, I think that we can find many topics of mutual interest.”
The shadow creature gasped in shock. “How did you do that? Nothing cures those wounds.”
Wolfe shrugged. “This is my world, with my rules. If I want to cleanse the corrupted mana from his body, it doesn’t take any more than a thought. Magi are quite talented in mana manipulation.”
The creature looked skeptical, but after a second’s focus, Wolfe created a ball of mana with the characteristic signature of his home Realm, then encased it in a cube, the same as he did for money here.
He tossed it over with a smile, and the shadow creature stopped it in midair to examine it.
“You made… Shadow Realm Mana in a box? No, that can’t be right. It must just feel like it.”
Then it pulled a bit of mana from the cube, and inky darkness surrounded its body.
“Did I do it correctly?” Wolfe asked.
The creature nodded. “You did. Thank you for this most wonderful gift. To think that it’s refillable. Your species has the strangest spells I have ever encountered.”
King Leandro gave a very girlish giggle. “They use that spell to store a specific pattern of modified mana that they use as currency.
Only he can create it with that specific pattern, so the currency is nearly impossible to counterfeit.
He has much practice making those cubes.”
The portals began to tremble, and the guests made various disgruntled noises.
The tentacle faced King nodded his head and flared his tentacles in what Wolfe took to be the equivalent of a bow. “King Wolfe, it has been a pleasure to watch your Coronation. We do hope to see you again one day and find time to have a long conversation about the unique species of your world. Farewell.”
One after another, the guests left the platform before their portals could destabilize, with the Demons leaving last, as their portals were still stable, as the Demon Realms had regular access to this world.
“Congratulations, King Noxus. We should return home now, but we are looking forward to your accomplishments in the future.” A slender Demon with black feathered wings announced with a wink toward the Witches.
Then he stepped through his portal along with most of the other Demons.
That left just Leandro, and one King with white wings, who Wolfe realized was from the Upper Planes.
“Lord Seraphim, I am glad you could make it.” Wolfe greeted him.
The Seraphim smiled at Wolfe.
“That Empyrean Knot is a work of art. I knew that your Noxus Family had made a record of it, but I never thought that one of you would manage to actually replicate it. Normally, a mortal would not have enough mana to make it possible to accomplish, but your method was truly innovative.” He replied.
Wolfe shrugged. “I had done the rest in advance, and the Noxus Family Library recommended it as a possibility. It might not have been the most conventional, but neither were the rest of the changes that I had made to allow my body to transfer more mana, so it was more of a guess on my part.”
“Still, actually making it work is considered to be akin to a self-made miracle. Have you noticed the changes in your body yet?” The Seraphim asked.
“There have been so many lately that I’m not even sure where to start. But the power from the Coronation is still building in my body as the modified mana cores adjust.
I also tweaked a few of the other cores to help balance the influx of mana from other worlds while I was advancing.
I might have to change those back later, but for now, it seems like it will make casting esoteric spells easier if I start with differently attuned mana.” Wolfe explained.
The Seraphim smiled. “I look forward to the day when you learn how to use Light Magic. You have the capability now, but I can’t teach you, you have to discover it on your own.”
Wolfe chuckled. “I suspect that’s a rule, and not the nature of the spells. But give me time, I will find a way. I saw quite a few new spells today, and unique ways of activating magic. I am going to need time to process that all before I start on another Element.
Besides, I’m still working to understand how my own magic has changed with this advancement. I can feel everything. Every living thing in the world is there in my mana sense, and it’s a bit disorienting.”
The Seraphim laughed as his body turned to light. “Good luck with that. I will be watching from afar to see how you do.”
“I am out as well. There is work to get done at home. Congratulations, King Wolfe. I will be back in a few days to discuss a new business my people would like to open in Forest Grove, and from what I hear, the Continental Representatives want to hold an official meeting as well.”
