Chapter 1067: 1067 Departure

After everyone had eaten, Wolfe could feel the mixture of annoyance and longing pass over the Royals as they began to get to their feet.

“As much as we have enjoyed our time here, and believe me, we have, I do need to return home.” Princess Thalami sighed.

King Drider nodded. “I don’t suppose that you offer a delivery service for these wonderful breakfasts?”

Wolfe shook his head and smiled. “No, but we do offer takeout, so if you would like to create a portal link in your home, we can allow it to bypass planetary security and come straight here. With that in place, you can come to get what you like, or send a servant to grab it for you.

It has worked out well with the Fallen Empire, and they now have a number of tradesmen stationed here full-time and merchants come every month for the festival to acquire our local currency and trade their wares for the local specialties.”

Princess Thalami looked skeptical, while King Drider gave a pleased smile.

“Well, if you’re offering free movement between here and the Dark Fae Realms, I won’t decline.” He agreed.

“Not quite free. It comes with the caveat that they arrive with good intentions and follow the rules while they are here. If not, they will be either rejected or sent to our time looped trials, where we can watch them challenge the Ferals for our entertainment.”

King Drider chuckled. “Whose brilliant idea was that? I saw a few screens showing combat against Feral Demons and Fae, but didn’t realize it was a live feed.”

“Your counterpart among the Demons, and one very old Elf.” Wolfe replied.

King Drider laughed. “Oh, those two. It’s a shame that they didn’t call me to come help, it could have been so wonderful with a third King.”

Wolfe chuckled, while Drazzit burst into laughter.

“You might not believe it, but they got one of those beings above King Rank from the highest planes to join them in creating the trials. There are rewards created by a Holy Trial spell, I’ve seen the evidence myself.” The Dark Elven Princess informed him with a bloodthirsty grin.

King Drider nodded. “Now it makes sense, I saw a disturbance, and I couldn’t find the context, thanks to interference from above and below. If it was the pair of them fighting over who gets to claim this place, it is completely understandable that my visions would be blocked.

Tell me, did you upset the beings of the Lowest Planes, or did you please the ones from the Highest?”

Wolfe did his best to look innocent, while Cassie and Ella pretended that this question had nothing to do with them.

“That’s answer enough for me. Both, we’re going with both.” Drider announced.

King Memo sighed as a spell began to glow on his shirt.

“It seems that I must cut our moment of levity short, as I am needed back at the castle. Unscheduled days off are fun, but they cause chaos with the advisors, as if I’m never going to return to answer their questions.” He sighed.

Princess Thalami shrugged. “It’s better than doing all their work yourself. As annoying as advisors are, they do take a lot of the work out of the maintenance of a territory. You just need to execute or exchange a few now and then, so they don’t get complacent and corrupt.”

“Where do we add permanent portals? Is there a dedicated room?” King Drider asked.

“There is a portal and ritual room above the restaurant in the spire. We can add a portal for you there, so your approved people can come and go as needed. We also keep hosts on duty to welcome them to the city, in case they have urgent messages or don’t know where they are going, so it is much more convenient than just having them end up somewhere random in the city or forest.”

The Demon Royals laughed. “Somehow, just dropping them in the forest and waiting to see how long it takes them to get here sounds like more fun. Not very time efficient, but more fun.”

Princess Thalami frowned. “Won’t that cause issues with the locals? I can sense Dark Fae in the forest.”

“Probably, but they can’t eat sentient beings. You can ask the Bog Witch the next time she shows up how happy she is about that. She throws a fit every time someone gets lost and ends up in her territory. But she still brings them to us for the reward.” Wolfe joked.

“Really?”

“No, only when she’s hungry. The rest of the time, she just enjoys getting them even more lost and then ditching them.”

The Dark Fae all laughed. That sounded more like the Bog Witches that they knew.

Wolfe led the procession up to the top of the tower the conventional way, using the lift so they could tell their staff how to get around the city.

“Alright, we have a nice spot here on the south side that can be used for the Dark Fae Realms. The Light Fae Kingdom has an inscription over there, while there are two for the Demon Kingdoms. One leads to King Leandro’s airport, and the other leads to the Magic King’s palace.” Wolfe explained.

“Why do they get two?” Princess Thalami asked.

“Traffic volumes mostly. The Magic Kingdom sends many students and professors here, and the Incubus Kingdom is a tourist hub. So, once we introduced our new air travel methods to them, it was only natural to create a portal at the airport, so visitors from all over the Kingdoms, as well as from our world would all arrive at the same spot for their vacation.” Wolfe explained.

The Elven Princess rolled her eyes as she realized why the Incubus Kingdom would be popular for tourism, with their hedonistic nature, but couldn’t deny that it did make sense.

“Saint Noxus, we will see you soon. For your Crowning, if not sooner.” King Drider announced as he was about to leave.

He turned to step through the portal, but Drazzit stopped him.

“Before you go, I need to remind you of basic courtesy here. I know that most of your staff typically goes naked to show that they are unarmed, but you either need to send them clothed or directly to Saint Noxus’ quarters if they are arriving nude.” She whispered.

Cassie and Ella both burst into a fit of giggles. “I think you misunderstood something in our decorum lessons somehow. But you’re not really wrong. We do keep a stock of clothing for nearly all body types in the suites, so they can arrive there nude and find clothing to wear for their visit.”
