“Why would I?” Shen Li glanced at her with a raise of his brow. “Did you think that I would feel regretful that she is gone? If anything I am relieved that she is finally gone. At least now we will live a decent life without any worries.”

Ye Liu also nodded beside him before saying, “That’s right. Though we married her — we only take you as our wife.”

“Indeed,” Chen Mi chimed from the side. “If not for you — who knows…” he trailed off and placed his hand on Yu Jin’s head.

The little mer raised his head and looked at his daddy before whining in disgust.

“Ah! You little tease,” Chen Mi was amused as he pinched the cheeks of his son. “You are really grown up now eh? You dare disdain your old daddy now?”

“Ah!”

Laughter filled the dining room and Yu Dong’s mood improved as well. That’s right, so what if she met them later on? These mers adored and loved her.
