“Did you find the name of this ghoul?” Wu Junfen asked as she carefully looked at her granddaughter. For some reason, Yu Dong looked like she was going to be sick.
Yu Dong parted her lips and replied, “It is the previous — my predecessor.”
Though Yu Dong felt sorry towards the old Yu Dong, she knew that there was nothing that could be done. The old Yu Dong was gone and she was not coming back as the dead could never be brought back.
Since that was the case — then what was the point in holding back?
Wu Junfen looked at Yu Dong who seemed to be getting sicker by the second and said to her in a low voice, “It is not your fault.”
The old Yu Dong made her decision and she suffered from the consequences of her actions. There was nothing that Yu Dong or she could have done.
In fact, it was the good fortune of Shen Li and the others that they met with Yu Dong. If not they would have lost their only support.
What would have happened to three widowed mers? And Fang Chi? That mer would have also died in the hands of Mu Yuxi.
Sun Jie and Xiao Hua’s lives were also changed by Yu Dong.
“Always keep your head up,” Wu Junfen told her. “You only changed the lives of others for the better and not worse. So there is no need for you to feel guilty over anything.”
Yu Dong nodded.
Just then the ghoul found them, it snickered in an eerie way before saying to Yu Dong, “G—Give it …back.”
Yu Dong raised her head and looked at the ghoul. She narrowed her eyes and stood up on her feet, exchanging a look with Wu Junfen she said to the ghoul, “I am not giving anything back. This life is my own, I created it while you ruined yours on your own.”
Her words agitated the ghoul who took a swipe at her, Yu Dong dived to her left and took out a long sabre sword. She swung it at the ghoul, even though she knew that it would do nothing to it.
“I was the one who earned money for the businesses that I own. I saved the life of my husbands when you left them in despair. I gave them hope to survive!” Yu Dong continued speaking as she dodged the attacks of the ghoul. “If you wanted to live a life of comfort and honour then you should have worked hard then let others take advantage of you.”
“Who here owes who?”
The ghoul raised her hands and clenched her long claw-like fingers before smashing her hands down on the ground. Two craters filled with heavy yin energy appeared in the ground.
When the ghoul saw that Yu Dong had escaped she was so angry that she let out a roar and charged at her again but before she could take another step towards Yu Dong, a gold chain came sweeping.
It tied itself around the ghoul causing it to stumble and fall.
The ghoul turned and looked at Wu Junfen who was holding the end of the golden chain and glaring down at her. “Begone. You have no right to live in this world. Yu Dong, your time has passed. Now return to where you belong.”
“No…no…” the ghoul muttered. “No! I just — I just wanted to live.”
Yu Dong looked at the ghoul who seemed to be crying. Big drops of blood slipped and fell on the ground as the ghoul said, “I j—just wanted a loving family. Pl..please… happy …. I just want to be h..happy.”
“I did—didn’t kil..kill anyone.”
“I …I am no..not bad.”
Yu Dong looked at the ghoul before raising her head and looking at her grandmother. “Can you let her reincarnate?” She asked.
The least she could do was to give this predecessor of hers a chance to live a life filled with happiness.
“Dong Dong…” Wu Junfen was annoyed by the kindness that Yu Dong was showing to the woman who had turned into an evil entity.
“Granny please,” Yu Dong pleaded, causing Wu Junfen to glare at her. She was upset that Yu Dong was using that puppy face on her for someone like this woman!
That girl knew that she could not say no to her and was thus using it.
For a while Wu Junfen continued to glare at Yu Dong before sighing as she said, “I can give her a chance but even so she would have to suffer and pay for the sins that she had committed.”
“As long as she could get what she wanted,” Yu Dong looked at the ghoul before saying, “Live a good life. No matter what, remember to be kind.”
The ghoul looked at Yu Dong before disappearing into shreds of golden orbs.
Yu Dong looked up at the orbs that were floating in the sky and sighed.
“Live well.”

“She is here!” A giddy Jiao Bo looked at the golden orb that was floating in front of him. Inside the orb was a baby sleeping peacefully.
Jiao Bo turned and looked at Luo Tingfeng who was just as excited and happy as he looked at their child.
“It seems like the heavens were kind enough to give us a child, Bo Bo,” Luo Tingfeng placed his hand on the head of his husband before looking at the child lovingly. “What name did you come up with for our daughter?”
It was already decided by them that if the child was a boy the name chosen by Luo Tingfeng would be used and if it was a girl, Jiao Bo would be the one who would give her a name.
Jiao Bo looked at the child in the orb before taking a step closer to it. He raised his hand and then touched the golden orb before saying, “Luo Huian. Her name shall be Luo Huian.”
