“You…You..you…” This was the first time Kong Li had spoken to him like this, in the past even if she was to make a fuss, she would not say such sharp words. It made Master Xiao both angry and speechless.
“What ‘you’? If you want to raise aunties then raise then use your own money and ration! Why should we suffer with you? You have your savings but you don’t use them! But you take our savings and give it to aunties!” Kong Li roared at her daddy, years of suffering finally exploded and she couldn’t stay quiet anymore.
“They are your family! Not mine! Not my sister’s! Why should we starve for them? Will you feel better if we don’t exist!? Then I will leave this house for you!
I will leave, will you be satisfied then!?” Kong Li turned on her feet and ran out of the courtyard.
“Li Li!” Kong Pili shouted as she chased after Kong Li, neither of the two sisters looked at their daddy who was panting with rage.
Master Xiao’s chest heaved up and down. His face was bright red as if someone had smacked him right across it. His sister was right!
That, Guo Zian had filled all kinds of rebellious thoughts in the minds of his daughters. Look at them, just look at them! How they spoke to him.
Just because he handed away a jar of sauce! They were acting as if he had given away gold and pearls to his sisters.
His wife earned decent money and his sisters did not, so what was wrong with sharing some good things with them? How could he sit still when his sisters were eating coarse bread and he was eating meat?

“Fine leave! Who wants to keep such unfilial daughters like you?” Master Xiao shouted angrily. Anyway, he did not think that those two would run out for long, they would come back by the evening at most.
“Humph. Who are you trying to scare? I am your daddy, I have seen and done these things when I was five and four, do you think I don’t know what you are doing?”
“Little beasts!”
After speaking, he went inside the kitchen and finished his remaining buns, he was not going to ruin his appetite for those beasts!
In fact, he was not going to even make dinner for them unless they kowtow and apologise to their aunties. Even if his sisters were not here, what if those girls learned to speak such harsh words in front of his sisters?
Would they not be heartbroken? No. He could not see his sisters upset. He had to nip the bud of rebellion before it bloomed!
Master Xiao was relaxed because he thought that his daughters would return but he had no idea that his foolish actions had made Kong Li and Kong Pili long dissatisfied.
The jar of sauce was the last straw that broke the camel’s back. This time around even the two sisters were ready to make trouble for him.
At the other side of the inn, Yu Mai was playing with his teddy bear. He was sitting next to the window and looking outside wistfully when he saw the two Kong sisters running out of the house.
Seeing them run out of the inn, Yu Mai was stunned. He blinked his eyes and turned to look at Yu Dong who was now reading a small book.
“Sister, can I go and play with my friends?” He asked.
“Your friends?” Yu Dong turned and looked at her brother. “Where did these friends come from?”
“They are Auntie Kong’s daughter. Sister Li and Sister
Pili,” replied Yu Mai.
Li and Pili? Yu Dong frowned. Indeed the daughters of Madam Kong were called Kong Li and Kong Pili.
She thought about it and nodded. “Very well, you can go and play with them but make sure that you stay with your friends, don’t go anywhere else without them, alright?”
“Okay!” Yu Mai replied as he jumped from his chair and ran out of the room as well as the inn. Poor Yu Dong had no idea that her brother had snuck out of the inn as she thought that there was no way kids around the age of Kong Pili and Kong Li would leave the inn.
Only if she knew, she would have never allowed Yu Mai to leave the room.
Three hours soon passed by and Yu Dong, who did not see Yu Mai return, frowned. She stood up from the chair and walked out of the room. With her hands placed on the railing of the corridor, she peered down at the first floor.
She did not see him playing with the two Kong sisters.
“Where did he go?” She mused when she did not see Yu Mai. Slightly worried, she made her way down the stairs and ran into Madam Kong.
“Madam Yu, you are already here? There is still time for dinner though. But if you are hungry then I can arrange for some snacks,” stated Madam Kong with a smile on her face.
“I am not hungry, Madam Kong,” said Yu Dong as she looked around the inn one more time. “My brother is playing with your eldest and second daughter. Can you call them?”
“It has been more than three hours now,” Yu Dong did not want to jump to conclusions but she was getting this sudden bad feeling that she couldn’t help but want to see her brother at once.
Madam Kong was surprised when she heard Yu Dong say that Yu Mai was playing with her daughters but at the same time, she was slightly happy. If those two started getting along then she might have a filial and pretty son-in-law.
“I will go and call them, they must be in their room,” Madam Kong did not think too much. She turned on her feet and then walked to the back of the inn before heading to the courtyard where her daughters lived.
