GUIDE TO RAISE MY CUTIE HUSBANDS

Chapter 1610 - 1610: Finally separated

“What!?”

The three sisters screamed out loud as they all turned to look at Madam Jiang. Even Second Master Jiang was stunned as he had not expected his wife to do something like this. What was she trying to do? Why did she ask Elder Sister Jiang and Second Sister Jiang to leave as well?

“Wife—”

Second Master Jiang began but he was silenced as soon as Madam Jiang turned to look at him.

“You three are already grown up and have families. How long are you going to rely on your parents? All of you can leave, I will live with your father and my concubines. of course, you all will have to pay a fixed amount of food, money and items of clothing to us as we have raised you for so long as filial piety,” Madam Jiang stated with a cold voice.

“Of course, once you get promoted or earn some decent money the amount you have to pay will also increase.”

“Mother! Are you joking?!” Eldest Sister Jiang cried out loud in shock. Her voice almost cracked as she heard her mother ask her to leave. Though she had saved a lot of money, this was her private savings and she wanted to use this money to buy a grand house.

She wanted to leave after a few more years but if she was to leave now, wouldn’t her entire plan go down the drain? She would have to buy a decent house instead of a grand one!

And what about food and water? How was she supposed to find a house with a well in this situation!?

“Do you think I am joking?” Mother Jiang turned to look at her daughter and stated coolly. “You might be my daughter but don’t forget that even you are not allowed to play me like a fool! What were you thinking by hiding your pay and lying to me by saying that you have given it to your in-laws?”

Mother Jiang was a selfish woman and when she heard Master Deng say that her daughters had been lying about handing a share of their pay to their in-laws, she realised something.

Her eldest and second daughters were just as selfish as her. While Mother Jiang did not see anything wrong with her actions, she did see through the actions of her daughters. They were lazy, selfish and cared only about their own interests.

For the sake of getting what they wanted they even made their old mother eat less food such that they could save an extra penny.

Mother Jiang might have been harsh on others but she had treated her eldest and second daughter well. After all, the two got a job with decent pay through her connections. She had supported them openly while leaving Jiang Mingzhu to fend for herself.

However, Jiang Mingzhu was the only filial one who was willing to support her.

Mother Jiang might be selfish and heartless but she was not foolish. A woman who despite being a seventh rank official could push her mer son into the bed of a marquis could never be a fool.

She understood that her two daughters had become increasingly greedy and self-centred and to make matters worse, their husbands were not anything good either.

She no longer had any hope from these two daughters of hers, which was why she could not turn her back on her third daughter. If she did that then who would support her in her old age?

Since she couldn’t rely on Eldest Sister Jiang and Second Sister Jiang, then she might as well take advantage of this opportunity and make Third Sister Jiang feel a bit touched.

At least enough for Jiang Mingzhu to support her in old age.

With the three sisters separated, at least Mother Jiang would not have to worry about small schemes and she would have enough retirement funds.

Now that she had heard that Jiang Mingzhu was the only one who was honestly handling her salary for the household expenses, Mother Jiang understood that only her third daughter was going to be filial to her.

Her third daughter had been quiet as a child and was too soft which was why she had disliked Jiang Mingzhu.

However, compared to her two daughters who were swayed by the sweet talk of their husbands, her third daughter was better at least she was not making her elders suffer even though she knew that her mother was biased.

Master Deng was also right. At least he listened to his wife and did not do anything too out of the line until someone crossed his first.

As for her second daughter — she was too savvy. She thought that she was smarter than others but the truth was that she was the most foolish one among the three sisters.

Master Sang was also cunning.

With the two of them being so shameless as to hide their pay after she had used all the money and savings that she had to get Second Sister Jiang, Mother Jiang had no expectations from them either.

Right now, she was in good health and could take care of her. Second master Jiang was also an affectionate and respectful husband.

But what about her old age? When she and her husband would get old and sick? As the saying goes there are no filial children next to someone who was seriously ill, Mother Jiang did not dare to trust her daughters.

Who knows how they would behave once she got sick? It was better to save some money instead.

“Mother…” Master Deng was surprised but he was grateful that his mother-in-law had allowed them to separate, even if there was a selfish motive behind it— he did not care!

“Mother, you cannot do this!”

“Mother! How can you be biased toward the third sister?”

“Mother, don’t do this!”

Mother Jiang looked at her two daughters and their husbands before saying, “Go and call the yamen officers. The separation will take place today.”
