Yiyi’s motion of wiping Tongtong’s hair stiffened for a moment, without turning around, she continued to dry her wet hair.

Gu Kai walked to the bed, placed Yiyi’s purse on it and reached out, “Give me the towel, I’ll help wipe Tongtong’s hair.”

“Daddy.”

Tongtong squinted while smiling and quickly reached out to grab the towel, Yiyi was amused by Tongtong’s adorable behavior, “Tongtong, stand still, don’t move.”

She let go of the towel and stepped aside, letting Gu Kai take over her task.

“Plug in the hairdryer.”

Gu Kai took the towel, first bent down to sniff Tongtong’s cheek and praised, “Tongtong smells so nice.”

“Giggling, nice smells, Daddy.”

Tongtong received praise and her smile became even more brilliant, stretching out her hand to Gu Kai, inviting him to sniff it.

Gu Kai sniffed her hand with a chuckle and continued to applaud, “Mmm, Tongtong’s hand smells nice too. Has Tongtong been a good girl today?”

“Tongtong good girl.”

Tongtong hurriedly nodded, possibly because she was standing on the bed, which made her unsteady on her feet, and her little body lurched forward.

Gu Kai laughed heartily, stabilizing her, “Why aren’t you wearing pajamas? Wrapped in a bath towel instead.”

“Tongtong didn’t want to wear pajamas; she insisted on me wrapping her in a towel.” Seeing him turn his head to look at her, Bai Yiyi blinked innocently and explained in a soft voice.

She picked up the bag on the bed, opened it, checked everything inside, and then took out her phone to check.

Seeing that the number in her contacts really had been deleted, a surge of anger raced through Bai Yiyi’s heart, and she jerked her head up to glare at Gu Kai.

“Daddy, handsome.”

Tongtong’s childlike voice suddenly interrupted, and Bai Yiyi’s words got stuck in her throat; she clenched her phone tightly and took deep breaths to calm her anger.

Tongtong’s sparkling eyes fixated on Gu Kai, oblivious to her mother beside her deflating like a balloon. Although Gu Kai was looking at Tongtong and tenderly stroking her hair, the corner of his eye caught Bai Yiyi’s irritation.

Seeing she didn’t dare to erupt, a smug smile crept onto his lips.

After calming down a bit, Bai Yiyi pursed her lips and then spoke, “I’m going to sleep in my room now; you put Tongtong to bed.”

Since he was willing to tuck Tongtong in, she didn’t want to see him here anyway.

Gu Kai turned his head leisurely, his piercing gaze sweeping over the phone in her hand, he said indifferently, “I know, some numbers are memorized by heart; deleting them is pointless, and you don’t need to pretend to be angry.”

Bai Yiyi laughed out of exasperation, her smile cold, “Rest assured, I will definitely marry a man who is a hundred times better than you.”

“Fine, I’ll wait.”

Gu Kai raised an eyebrow, adding leisurely, “If you really can’t find anyone, or no one wants you, I can act as a shelter and reluctantly take you in.”

“In your dreams. Even if I never marry in my life, I would never marry you.”

Bai Yiyi ground her teeth in anger, this detestable man, bullying her and yet not showing a single redeeming quality, and to think he had the gall to say she couldn’t find someone better.

Gu Kai narrowed his eyes, his gaze slowly moving from Bai Yiyi’s face and pausing on her lips, his expression deepening, “Just don’t regret it later.”

Bai Yiyi smiled, “Don’t worry, I won’t regret it.”

“Daddy, Mommy.” Tongtong looked up with her little face, puzzled as she watched Bai Yiyi and Gu Kai. Bai Yiyi immediately put on a smile, reached out to touch Tongtong’s little cheek, and said, “Tongtong is a good girl; Mommy is going to take a bath, Daddy will tell you a story later.”

“Tongtong good girl.” Tongtong nodded happily and then looked at Gu Kai, “Daddy, story.”

“Okay, Daddy will dry your hair first, then tell a story.”

“Daddy, Tongtong, sleepy time.”

Tongtong pointed to the bed behind her, looking expectantly at Gu Kai.
