Chapter 1233: Taking advantage of her

“What did you say?”

Gu Kai’s handsome face turned cold, and his gaze grew even icier.

Bai Yiyi’s heart trembled in fear, “I mean, I never agreed to go out with Zhang Siming.”

“It’s also your responsibility, isn’t it?”

The ringtone of her cellphone echoed; she reached to check it, but Gu Kai leaned over to look and, seeing that the caller was Wen Jin, he snatched her phone and pressed the answer button.

Bai Yiyi opened her mouth as if to say something, then swallowed her words back.

“Ah Jin, Bai Yiyi is with me. I’m going to take her away now.”

“Okay.”

On the other end of the call, Wen Jin didn’t say much, just uttered a single “okay” and hung up.

Gu Kai didn’t return the phone to Bai Yiyi immediately. Instead, he searched her call history for a number and blocked it.

Gu Kai, with a smug raise of his eyebrow and a mocking curve on his lips, proudly said, “It may not be my business, but I have the right to care. You are not allowed to contact Li En from now on, nor to see him. That man is no good.”

“You’re no better; you have no right to talk about others.”

Unable to get her phone back, Bai Yiyi spoke without filter in her anger. She wasn’t defending Li En but hated Gu Kai’s presumptuous attitude.

Yet Gu Kai was irritated by her words. To his ears, Bai Yiyi’s defense of Gu Kai meant she was still hung up on him – a man who stole Ranran’s baby and took his daughter Tongtong away, and Bai Yiyi was actually defending him.

He had been turning his head aside to dodge Bai Yiyi, but upon hearing her words, he suddenly turned his head back.

“Mom, give me some change. I took a taxi home and forgot my purse.”

“Oh.” Bai Yuqin noticed her complexion wasn’t good but didn’t inquire further, opened the drawer in front of her, and took out some change to hand to her.

Bai Yiyi turned and ran out of the living room, paid the taxi fare, and then came back in.

“Yiyi, where’s your purse? Left it at the office? How could you be so careless.”
