Chapter 3515: Leaving Behind
’There were a few more things we could have asked them, you know?’ Rean told Roan through their connection.
Roan was aware of it, and there were a few more topics that could have been touched. For example, they could have investigated more about Qwerty. From the moment Qwerty woke up, he already had sentience and feelings. He just didn’t have memories. That meant Qwerty was alive for a long period of time before the point he gained his sentience code. Where was it? How did he appear in the borders of the Divine Snow World? How come no one found him and the other robots there before? It was weird that only the Divine Snow Mountain Sect got them.
Another point was the Zoshia Enterprise System. The Celestial Soul System mistook it for the Werdlem Empire System, and almost failed to help the twins because of that. Why was the Zoshia Enterprise System similar to the Werdlem Empire System? From what they heard, the Evernight World didn’t have anything to do with the Werdlem Empire at first, so what was that coincidence?
However, Roan wasn’t willing to delve that deeper. ’The further down we go this path, the more shit we will uncover. At that point, we might get entangled with more than we can handle. Don’t forget, we only took part in that fight to help the sect members as a means of payment for the help they gave us instead. Knowing more isn’t necessarily a good thing. Besides, Qwerty is gone, and nothing we do can bring him back.’
Rean nodded and didn’t say anything else. Together with Silveria, Rean helped bury the women they found in the underground facility. Silveria paid her respects, and so did the few disciples and elders that came with them.
Once that was done, many of the sect members returned to the sect outside the city, especially formations masters. There were also robots who followed them as they wanted to check the sect’s databases. Abi intended to make the sect flight capable again in case they had to head out.
A few days passed, and the city slowly got back into the rails. Of course, as mentioned before, there were SANS Units who had the loyalty-ensuring code and thought it was the right thing. The loyalty-ensuring code was gone, and Qwerty’s new code, which made it impossible for fights to happen between robots, took place. These robots who didn’t like this new directive were not forced to do anything. They were given the chance to stay in the city or leave it if they wanted. In the end, they all stayed. After all, they had never been out anyway, and the SANS-G Units promised that they would try to make a city worth living for everyone.
On the fifth day, Rean was inside a workshop of the robots, and various materials and parts for the robots could be seen around. Zangeshu was also there, helping Rean rebuild Qwerty’s body.
Using their access to the database, which was now available to everyone, the blueprints regarding the HAF100 Units were found. They were blocked before, and even Ronk, also known as SANS-G01, couldn’t access them. Now, they were free to peruse.
Thanks to them, Zangeshu and Rean were able to manufacture the parts and materials necessary to rebuild Qwerty’s body, even though Qwerty wasn’t there anymore. It just felt right for them to do that.
Rean then added a new core inside Qwerty V2.0... Yes, that’s what Rean called it, and Zangeshu didn’t bother changing it. The body’s materials quickly closed on their own, and the kid-like, long-haired robot was once again ready.
Thanks to the access to the blueprints, Rean and the others understood why he needed both Rean’s Light Element and Roan’s Dark Element. Because the HAF100 Unit was an all-round robot, it needed both forces to operate to the best of its abilities. That’s why others couldn’t activate it before.
Rean then connected to Roan, and he filled Qwerty’s body with those two elements on top of the Divine Energy necessary to initialize the robots’ functions.
*Zin, zunnnn, beep, zip...*
The sounds of the body reactivating came out, slightly different from what it was when the twins activated Qwerty back them. Probably because of the new parts, or because it was the first time they were being used.
The lights on the spherical head began to run again, and a projection of two round lights that were positioned where the eyes should be appeared. The robot took a few steps forward, stopping in front of Rean. "Please add a name to this Unit."
The voice was very robotic, no emotions whatsoever could be felt there.
Rean pondered a bit and faintly smiled. "Robocop!"
Back then, when Rean selected that name, Qwerty refused to accept it. He simply said he didn’t like that name, and so Rean had to think about something else. If, for some miracle, Qwerty was still there...
"Robocop has been added," said the Qwerty v2.0.
"Wait, wait, wait!" Rean immediately stopped the robot. At the same time, he sighed a little. He knew Qwerty was gone, and yet, he simply couldn’t help but give that last try. Seeing that the robot was unresponsive and simply accepted the Robocop name, Rean had to accept Qwerty was truly gone. "I’ve changed my mind. Your name is Qwerty."
"Accepted. This Unit will now answer by the name of Qwerty," said the robot. "This unit is ready to follow its master’s orders."
Rean patted the HAF100’s head, smiling at it. "I’m not your master. I’m just a friend. I just rebuilt your body. What do you want to do? I’m leaving this place tomorrow, and I added all the information about this place to your memory. You can decide whether to come with us or to stay here with the other robots."
The robot went silent for a moment. "This unit doesn’t have any preferences. This unit has been built to complete the tasks of its masters. According to the programming of this unit, the being who activated it is its master, so it must follow your orders."
’Just leave it here,’ Roan’s voice echoed in Rean’s mind. ’If the anomaly was the reason for the robots to gain sentience, then leave this robot. Perhaps one day, his sentience code will appear.’
Rean could only nod, agreeing with Roan. "Then my order is for you to choose whatever is better for yourself." Rean patted the robot’s head once again, turning around and walking out of the facility with Zangeshu. "If you can’t find an answer, then help the other robots or whatever. One day, you might reach a conclusion."
Finally, Rean and Zangeshu left, leaving a silent robot behind.
