Chapter 3491: Checking for Survivors

During the past months, Roan hadn’t been attacking the city only to acquire materials. He had another objective in mind, and that was to take a good look at how the SANS Units moved when they invaded. Thanks to that, he already had a good plan in mind, so he gathered the entire CAU Units army on the southwest side of the city.

CAU03 was also there with him, looking closely so there wouldn’t be fuck ups. "If this doesn’t work, we truly might lose a lot of our companions here today."

Roan was aware of that. "I know. But we have to take the risk. Any longer than this, and we won’t be able to attack the city anymore. At that point, you might as well just give up and leave the Evernight World altogether. Perhaps you can find another way outside to get yourselves repaired somewhere else."

CAU03 didn’t want that. This was their home, where the creators gave birth to them. He just wanted all robots to have a free choice of what to do. "I’m counting on you."

Finally, Roan took out the device he used to communicate with the CAU Units, giving his orders. -Advance!-

The army was divided into just four groups this time. The main force at the center, and two supporting wings at the sides. The fourth group stayed behind, as they would be used for another thing.

As one could expect, the SANS Units came out to intercept the groups, but Roan made things simple. Celis was already there in the center, and as soon as the robots appeared, he activated his Energy Draining Domain.

On the left side, Rifindio took part in the attack. On the right, it was Kentucky and his Kawa Blade Domain. Roan put those three as the leaders of the CAU Unit armies they were in to make it easier to communicate with them. With those three there, the CAU Units quickly gained the advantage. That was to be expected since the SANS city didn’t bring many of their units out. It was a side effect of Roan’s previous attacks, in which he always caused too many losses when the SANS Units sent too many out of the city.

Seeing that, Roan snorted. -Celis, have half of your units detach and attack the city’s barrier.-

The center army of CAU Units immediately followed Celis’s and Roan’s orders, coming out and attacking the barrier. Fortunately, Celis was still in there, and his Domain could cover all the way to the front. That meant the SANS Units that tried to stop them would still have to enter Celis’s Domain.

-Kentucky, Rifindio, push forward to the barrier as well.- Roan continued to pass his orders, and two wings advanced with the help of Kentucky and Rifindio.

As the battle heated up, Roan turned back. ’It’s you now. Go there and see if there is anyone.’

Rean was the last member of their group who hadn’t moved yet. Rean was actually pretty useless on this battlefield. His Domain was all about nullifying enemy Domains, and his skills were more focused on enhancing and healing his allies. Unfortunately, his enhancement and healing skills were useless in robots. In the end, the only thing that remained for Rean was his actual combat power, which was very close to the Space-Time Realm now that he reached the Space-Bending Realm. ’On it!’

Rean led the last army of CAU Units to the right. To be more precise, he went to the Divine Snow Mountain Sect. That was the main reason Rean insisted on staying behind, to try and save whoever might be still alive in the sect. Roan’s first attack was not only a means to enter the city, but it was also a distraction so Rean and his CAU Units could reach the sect.

The sect protection formation had run out of power a long time ago. It’s not that there weren’t Divine Stones anymore, but that everyone inside the city’s range was locked in place by the city’s weird power. That left no on who could fuel the formation, and so it fell.

Entering the sect with his CAU Units, Rean ordered them to look everywhere to see if they could find anyone alive. There were rotten corpses at every corner, something the twins had already expected since the SANS Units were going for the kill back then.

However, Rean didn’t give up and reached a hidden formation inside one of the main buildings at the top. The entire sect had other formations that worked with just the natural Divine Energy in the surroundings, and that included the concealing formations.

Let’s not forget that back then, the Sect had an isolated area where no signals, divine sense, or any other method of communication worked. That was exactly the place where Rean and Roan first met Qwerty when Rean Lotan brought them inside. ’I can only hope the robots couldn’t detect the guys inside there...’ Rean sighed as he passed by even more corpses.

Finally, he arrived at the teleport formation... and it was broken! However, Rean wasn’t sad to see that. If anything, that gave him hope. ’The robots use a completely different technology from the formations the sect uses.’ As he thought that, he took a few materials from the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm and started to repair that formation. ’That said, it is very likely the robots had no idea how the teleport formations worked, nor would they look into it since it was of no use for themselves.’

Finally, two minutes later, that teleport formation was fixed. It was a quite simple one since it teleported a very short distance inside of the sect itself. Rean looked at the CAU Units behind him, giving them an order. "Watch this place. If you see the SANS Units coming, don’t wait for me. Just go back to Morty, and he will know how to use you."

"Understood!" The CAU Units nodded and stayed there.

Then, Rean fueled a little bit of Divine Energy into the formation, and a flash of silver light followed before he disappeared!
