Chapter 3487: It’s Time

CAU03 had already asked the rest of the robots in the main field to disperse and think about what they heard today. Then, he turned to Roan. "What did you mean? You said it yourself. Attacking the city was meaningless. We would only get more worn out or completely break. Attacking the city in this state will only increase our problems."

Roan was obviously aware of that. "Yes, you are correct. However, we have to do it. If we stop the attacks, the SANS City will consolidate its forces even further. We must distract them and make them think that we still intend to bring Qwerty into the Zoshia Enterprise by force."

CAU03, 9981, and the rest in that room didn’t think much of Roan’s words at first. However, as he continued to speak, their holographic expressions changed. "Would he truly manage to do that?"

Roan didn’t have an answer. "We will find out later. For now, attacks are what we need to do. I’ll take command of the next assault."

"Hmph!" CAU03 snorted. "Just because we decided to let you try your hand, it doesn’t mean we trust you to that extent. Do you think I will put my CAU Units under your command that easily?"

"Then let’s do it like this," Roan wasn’t concerned. "Give me ten minutes of power, ten minutes to command your forces. If you don’t like what you see in those ten minutes, you can simply command them as you see fit. Or you can even cut my power and tell everyone to ignore me before that if things turn for the worse."

CAU03 and the others looked at each other. An attack usually took hours as they had tens of thousands of Units going at each other or trying to avoid them while stealing resources. What could Roan possibly accomplish in ten minutes? In the end, the CAU Unit leaders decided to give Roan that chance as there didn’t seem to be many risks invovled. "Very well. However! If we see anything funny going on, you are out!"

Roan nodded with his cold expression. "That is all I need."

Five days later, the first attack after the CAU robots found out the truth happened. Morale was low, and quite a few even refused to come this time around. They thought they would be just suiciding. Fortunately, CAU03 still held a big presence within the CAU Units, even though he was also one of those who weren’t aware of the truth before. He convinced a big enough group to come and try to acquire some resources one more time.

Celis, Kentucky, and Roan were also present... and hiding. Thanks to the Celestial Soul System, they were immune to that power that could cut them out of the cultivation energies.

The Robots didn’t have Divine Senses, so they couldn’t hear a Divine Sense messages either. Everything had to be done through their unit’s communication system, which was isolated from the SANS City one. The attack was supposed to start days ago, but Rean had to spend some time to make a device where Roan could communicate with all CAU Units.

Seeing that everyone was in place, Roan finally gave his order. -CAU88P05, you may start. Don’t forget to follow the plan.-

Immediately, a group detached from the attacking force, aiming for the SANS City shield again.

Before they got there, however, even more SANS Units and their various vehicles and weapons came out of the protection, intercepting them.

-CAU30201E, you are the next.-

Another group detached, and they moved to another point. Just like before, the SANS Units came out, intercepting them.

Roan passed the same order to another seven groups, and they were all intercepted.

Seeing that, CAU03 already wanted to strip Roan of his commanding authority. At least when he is in charge, he manages to open a hole in the city barrier quite fast. It’s just that it would come with some casualties. The way things were going, they would only have casualties and wouldn’t even manage to enter the city to try to steal resources.

Roan could guess what CAU03 was thinking, but he couldn’t care less. ’Celis, Kentucky, you two go now, join the CAU55TW8’s group. Stay within the group of CAU Units.’

The two quickly followed Roan’s orders, joining another group of CAU Units. This group was quite weird, though. It moved in a protective manner, covering Celis and Kentucky in the center. To make it harder, Kentucky used the Light Bending Skill to make them invisible to optical sights. It wasn’t that useful once they got to the city range since there were many other detection methods, but it was something. Besides, it didn’t matter even if they were detected.

Seeing that all the group got into place, Roan faintly smiled and passed the order. -CAU55TW8, charge!-

Without asking anything, CAU55TW8 ordered his CAU Units to charge to the barrier, and Celis and Kentucky followed in their midst. Yet, something CAU55TW8 didn’t expect took place at that very moment. Out of nowhere, the various SANS Unit groups, the same ones that were intercepting the CAU Unit groups Roan sent earlier, divided half of their forces. All those SANS Units were now charging at CAU55TW8!

CAU03 was taken aback. "Quicky, ask CAU55TW8 to come back! He will be destroyed by that many SANS units!"

"Destroyed?" Roan glanced at him. "You must be dreaming. They couldn’t be safer."

Roan then looked at his back, where one last group of CAU Units waited for him. -It’s time.-
