Chapter 3463: No Respect
The Glacial Overflow Portal was just like the Glacial Overflow itself. No one really knew where it came from or how it appeared here. As far as the information on the Divine Snow World Network goes, this thing had been there for millions of years.
According to the various sources in the network, many powers tried to come and make use of this portal for their own good... just to end up with nothing. The sphere couldn’t be controlled, and the way it worked made the use of formations pretty meaningless. The Glacial Runes deteriorated everything.
Besides, it only showed activity during the Glacial Overflow phenomenon. Besides that, you could approach it, try to touch it, or even pass through it. Other than the fact you could see the sphere, it was as if it wasn’t even there.
Kentucky and Roan obviously gave it a try, and sure enough, they couldn’t do anything. The sphere was enormous, covering several tens of kilometers. Yet, all it did was increase the concentration of Water Element in the surroundings, and it wasn’t anything impressive. As for the Glacial Decay Runes, they seemed to be an after-effect of the sphere’s existence.
Roan then took Celis’s Underworld Detection Device, checking if it would point at the sphere. If there was a Temporal Path there, the device would notice it. Too bad... it didn’t detect anything. "The Decay Runes truly do feel like the energies of the underworld... but there is no temporal path..."
Roan looked at the huge sphere, then took a look at his CD again. This time, he searched for the south side of the Glacial Corridor. The Glacial Overflow ran all the way south, where it disappeared. Sure enough, there was a similar sphere there as well. It’s just that instead of causing the Water Element to accumulate, it absorbed it. The surrounding hundreds of kilometers around that sphere were one of the very few places where Snow never accumulated.
"What do you want to do?" Kentucky asked, not sure if they should continue here now that no temporal path was found. "Should we go back?"
Roan pondered a bit, feeling like he was missing something. But then again, there wasn’t really an urgent need to discover what it was. First of all, if there was really something very good here, the other powers would have found it a long time ago. What were the chances he could find something others didn’t after millions of years? With one last glance at the sphere, Roan decided to leave. "Yes, let’s go back."
Kentucky and Roan, having made it halfway to the Divine Snow Mountain Sect, resumed their way back there. In the end, the entire journey only took seven months, way less than before.
Yet, as soon as they stepped into the sect, Rean received a message. It wasn’t for Lotan, though. It was Ridia’s master, Kalahandra, who was also a Divine Demon Tree. "She left with you and didn’t come back? What is the meaning of this?"
Rean scratched the back of his head. "I don’t know why you are asking me. She is herself, so you should ask her. Why don’t you simply call her number?"
"Do you think I didn’t try?" Kalahandra complained. "She isn’t answering at all."
Rean then remembered that she was probably going through the preparations for the trial. "I see... Well, she is in the Qlonvi Continent. Ask for the Continent’s representative, who is her father."
"A continent representative?" Kalahandra had to admit he didn’t know much about Ridia, so it was his first time hearing about her father. "Very well, I’ll go there and check on her myself. At least now I know where she is." Without wasting any time, Kalahandra left Rean’s residence.
"Is that fine to tell about her?" Kentucky asked.
Rean shrugged in response. "He would find out sooner or later. Besides, he seems to care about his disciples, so it isn’t a bad thing. Anyway, let’s now put our plan into practice."
*Zush!*
Celis appeared in Rean’s residence. "Have you prepared a free pass for me?" Celis wasn’t a member of the sect, so he couldn’t simply move around as he wished.
Rean nodded. "Just one second."
*Knock, knock...*
Not long after, a disciple arrived at Rean’s residence, passing him a token. "Elder Rean Lotan asked to give you this. Just have your friend bound the token, and he will become a new disciple of the sect."
"Thank you," Rean smiled. Joining the sect initially required one to pass the test that happened every decade. However, Rean was Lotan’s direct disciple, and he was also very important to the sect due to the robot. Having Lotan prepare a token for Celis was just too easy. Celis had no issues registering into the sect’s system as a new disciple.
With that, their group left Rean’s residence, and they went all to the forest at the base of the mountain. They quickly moved to the area where Ridia once stood, and Celis took her place... which wasn’t seen with good eyes by the other plants.
"What?! Since she isn’t here, then I will take this place. I’m a Divine Demon Tree, so shut up and don’t bother me," which Celis didn’t give a damn. As a Divine Demon Tree, he did indeed have the ability to choose where he wanted to stay as long as he didn’t get in the way of other Divine Demon Trees and plants.
The twins and Kentucky shrugged, returning to the Dimensional Realm right after. Celis would stay outside to make good use of all the Wood Elements in the surroundings. At the same time, he will take as many Starlight Stones as he needs.
That was the best setup for cultivation they could get at the moment. Unlimited amount of Wood Element for Celis, while Rean, Roan, and Kentucky cultivated in the Dimensional Realm. It wasn’t as good as their initial idea of going to the Underworld, but it shouldn’t be too far off.
*Rumble!*
At that moment, another legend started. Before, it was Ridia’s incredible capability to enrich the environment with more and more Wood and Earth Elements. This time, however, it was Celis’s capability of absorbing it all like a vacuum cleaner. In the same way that Ridia made everyone’s cultivation many times easier the closer they were to her, Celis made everyone’s cultivation almost impossible in the same way. It didn’t take long for the area several tens of kilometers around Celis to be completely emptied. It was simply impossible to fight him for the Elements.
Seeing that everyone had finally left him alone, Celis snorted. "Hmph! That’s a World Swallowing Cedar for you!"
