Chapter 3447: No Talking
Saria then took out an invitation from her Pocket Dimensional Realm, passing it to Rean. "The elders of my Elf Race would like to meet you."
Rean grabbed the invitation, his expression as confused as ever. "Well, that came out of nowhere."
"Sigh..." Saria knew that and tried to explain. "I’ve just been to the Elf Race during a mission near our territory. I took the chance to visit my parents who I hadn’t seen since I was accepted into the sect. The thing is, I just so happened to demonstrate my abilities during that visit to one of the elders, and he was astonished by my accomplishments."
Rean started to see the full picture. "Let me guess, you used the things I taught you and the things you felt that day during the exam to improve your healing skills. Now, your healing skills are not only good because of your bloodline but also because of what you got from me. Am I getting close?"
Saria narrowed her eyes, her expression dark. "Have you been spying on me?"
"Hahaha!" Rean laughed in response. "Girl, you said it yourself. I’m Rean Lotan’s Direct Disciple, who is a Core Elder. So, please tell me, what would I gain from spying on you?"
"Your techniques? Mine are better."
"Could it be I want you as a woman? Sorry, but I could have pretty much anyone I want if I use my status. My group has beaten a lot of mission accomplishment records in the Mission Hall, so I’m pretty popular."
"Maybe you think I find it funny? I have to disappoint you there, but that would be a waste of time. I would rather spend it cultivating."
Saria wanted to give Rean a beating... but she also understood she asked for it. "I guess I brought it upon myself."
"That you did," Rean nodded. "So?"
"Yes, you are correct," Saria finally let her guard down a little. "They saw the advancement I had with my healing skills. At the measurement test, I reached 71 points, which is very, very high since I’m still in the Space Bending Realm Initial Stage. Above all, they could tell that my technique changed quite a lot. However..." Saria was in the Void Tempering Realm Late Stage when she met Rean 45 years ago, so she improved a bit.
"However, you couldn’t explain it to them since part of your technique relied on what you felt from my own technique, not just what I explained to you. After all, part of your healing skills also rely on your elf bloodline, and bloodlines are a lot about one’s personal understanding of them. They tried to feel your technique to see if it would be useful, but they didn’t get anything out of it," Rean completed her story for her.
"How do you know so much without even being there?" Saria didn’t accuse Rean of spying anymore. Even if it was a spy, could they have pried so deep? Pretty much no one knows about the meeting with her elder in the elf race.
Rean shrugged. "You will understand when you reach your elders’ ages. It isn’t too hard to guess what old foxes like them were thinking, especially since it could directly impact their race’s bloodline innate ability with Light Element."
Rean returned the invitation; no interest could be seen on his face. "Send the invitation back. Tell them that I have no need to share my abilities with them. I already learned everything I needed from your bloodline that day during the entrance exam."
"Are you sure? They are willing to pay a lot of Divine Stone if you allow them to feel your healing skill and teach them directly," Saria obviously couldn’t give up that easily.
Rean turned in her direction for a moment and smiled. Then, he just shook his head and walked in his residence entrance’s direction. "Thanks, but no thanks. If there is one thing I don’t lack, that is Divine Stones. Actually, you should use this chance to develop your skills to one day become their leader. I’m pretty sure you will gain a lot of benefits from that. Farewell."
"Wait!" Suddenly, Saria grabbed Rean’s hand, preventing him from entering his residence.
"Hum?" Rean looked down, feeling Saria’s hand shaking. Something seemed wrong. "What’s the-" He didn’t have time to finish his question, though.
*Bang!*
Immediately, the entrance of the residence was kicked open. A black shadow moved like lightning, grabbing Rean and pulling him inside before the door closed just as fast.
Saria was completely lost. Whatever caught Rean moved way too fast for her to see with her eyes. "Wh-What was that? Was Rick kidnapped just now?"
"Hey!" Inside the residence, Rean complained to the culprit, Roan.
Roan, however, seemed about to explode. "Shut up! Do you think I don’t know you? Some shit probably happened, and you would decide to help her because of some shit reason. We spent 45 years cultivating in this sect without issues, so I expected the Destiny Attraction skill of the system to be acting at any moment. How much do you want to bet that whatever she came asking you to do will probably become some great bullshit?"
"Errr..." Rean couldn’t deny that it was very, very likely to be the case. "Okay, that was indeed possible." He then looked in the residence’s entrance direction.
*Bang!*
*Ouch!*
"Why did you do that?" Rean rubbed the back of his head, feeling wronged. Roan just slapped him there.
"Because you are still thinking about her fucking shaking hands. Do you think I don’t know you? I would rather not, but unfortunately, we have been stuck together all these years," Roan answered. "Do not go out, and she won’t be able to come inside since invading is against the rules. Understood? If you go out, I swear I’ll give you a beating."
"Hmph! You just caught me off guard! Do you think I would lose to you that easily?" Rean obviously wouldn’t just sit there and do nothing after that threat.
"I don’t," Roan shook his head. "It sometimes comes to bite me back, but you do have a similar strength to mine after all the training I gave you, just slightly behind. However, I’m sure I can make you regret if you force me to fight you just so you won’t stick your hand where you shouldn’t. At the very least, I can make you weak enough to the point you can’t help anyone."
"Tch..." Rean didn’t like it, but he was certain Roan would do that. "Fine, I won’t go out. Let’s go back to cultivate."
