Chapter 3444: Go ahead
"What are you waiting for?" Lotan’s voice echoed from behind Rean, who had simply stopped after touching the robot.
"Ah..." Rean quickly snapped out of his trance, looking at Lotan. "Sorry, sorry... I was trying to check its internal structure. It’s not possible, though."
Lotan nodded. "Oh, right. Yes, we also couldn’t see anything with our Divine Sense. This robot repels everything. We only had a chance to check what was inside after dismantling the other robots. Too bad that they can’t be put together anymore after that."
Rean would talk to Roan afterward. For now, he focused on his Light Element, sending as much of it inside as possible. His Light Element entered the robot, disappearing in an instant. Rean couldn’t see how the robot used it.
However, after a few minutes of absorbing his Light Element, nothing happened. "Is this normal?"
Lotan sighed, feeling a little disappointed. "Yes. We tried other disciples and elders before with a high level of Light Element, but they got the same response. I had high hopes you would be able to awaken this one. We would have four of them in that case."
Rean pondered a bit. He felt like this wasn’t all. "Give me a minute." Right after, Rean began to send his Light Element inside again.
Lotan didn’t mind since the attempts didn’t seem to damage the robot, so he only waited.
Without Lotan and the others noticing, Rean sneaked a little bit of Roan’s Dark Element inside, and just like his Light Element, it was also absorbed.
*Plin...*
For a short moment, a feeble light appeared where you would find the eyes of the robot, just for it to disappear again.
"Wait! What did you do?" Lotan naturally noticed that.
Rean had a reason to send Roan’s Dark Element inside. When he was giving it his Light Element, he felt like the Robot was also trying to absorb something else. That said, he focused on the elements around him. Sure enough, he felt that what the robot tried to absorb was the Dark Element. It’s just that the concentration wasn’t high enough.
"This robot is not the same as the other three, is it?" Rean didn’t answer Lotan’s question. Instead, he made one of his own.
"This..." Lotan almost ran out of words. However, he quickly recovered and nodded. "Yes, this one seemed different from the other three. It is slightly bigger, just a few centimeters. As to what else it is different, we don’t know. We do believe one of the reasons we haven’t managed to awaken it yet is due to this difference."
Rean nodded and turned his attention back to the robot. "Okay. What I did was actually quite simple." Rean then told Lotan of his method. Of course, he didn’t talk about Roan. Instead, he simply said he controlled some Yin Energy to gather a little bit of Dark Element. Rean even tried it again, just for the same feeble light to appear in the eyes’ location.
"I see..." Lotan was surprised to hear that. They had worked on this robot for so long, but they always assumed it would only accept Light Element. Without wasting any time, Lotan turned to one of the guards behind. "Call Martinius. Tell him to come here immediately."
Rean had no idea who Martinius was, but he didn’t ask either. He had an idea about what Lotan intended to do, so he simply distanced himself from the robot.
Lotan faintly smiled, happy to see how Rean could read his thoughts. The two then waited for a few minutes, and the so-called Martinius appeared.
"Lotan, what was it? I was busy. If my concoction fails, I’ll have you pay the price of the herbs," Martinius complained.
Lotan ignored that and pointed at the robot before explaining what they found about it. "Martinius, you are also in the Space-Time Realm, so it will be much better if you can control the robot. Can you give it a try?"
Now aware of the situation, Martinius put his concoction on the back of his mind. He approached the robot and gathered his Light Element. His Light Element was very pure, and his cultivation definitely allowed him to gather a lot at once. It’s just that his Light Element Purity wasn’t as good as Rean’s or Lotan’s.
Following that, Martinius then used the surrounding Yin Energy to help him gather the Dark Element. As a Light Element Affinity expert, Martinius obviously wasn’t very good with it. Nonetheless, Lotan was hoping Martinius could gather and control just enough to awaken the robot.
Martinius did his best, and Rean nodded slightly at that sight. Martinius truly could use a respectable amount of Dark Element. However, he couldn’t do what Rean and Roan could, which was to use both elements to support each other. He kept them separated so they wouldn’t go chaotic, potentially causing a backlash to his cultivation.
A few minutes passed, and Martinius definitely used a lot more Dark Element than Rean did, let alone Light Element. Yet, despite his best efforts, that feeble light didn’t appear in the robot’s eyes. It even made him wonder if Lotan was telling the truth. "Are you sure it happened?"
Lotan narrowed his eyes. "Rick, give it a try yourself."
Rean proceeded as Lotan requested. This time, however, he pretended to control a little bit of the Dark Element in the surroundings, sneaking some of Roan’s Dark Element inside. Sure enough, the feeble light appeared again, albeit just slightly. "Seems to work with me."
Martinius was an elder with access to the place, so his Divine Sense wasn’t blocked here. He was able to tell the difference between him and Rean. "His Light Element is just like yours, Lotan. It’s pure to a fault. Considering the other robots could only be activated by you and the Sect Master, I can say for certain that the purity is highly related to it."
Lotan wasn’t 100%, though. "Not only me and the sect master, remember? Xawery also managed to wake one of the robots, and her Light Element is pretty much at the same level as yours."
Martinius felt thankful for the compliment, but he knew that wasn’t true. "We have our differences, and you know that. She is still closer to you than she is to me when it comes to Light Element, even if she isn’t at your level. Maybe she just barely reached the necessary requirement to activate her own robot. Besides, her robot is different than this one."
Lotan sighed, giving up the idea of looking for an expert with higher level of Light Element Control. Martinius might not be as good as Abi, Xawery, and Lotan himself, but he was definitely one of the best in the sect. In a ranking system, Martinius would easily take the fourth spot, quite far ahead of the fifth. If his Light Element wasn’t good enough, there was no need to call the others ranked below.
"Rick," Lotan went back to the original plan. "Try to wake it up. If you need anything to help you accumulate more Dark Element at once, let me know."
Rean nodded, contacting Roan. ’Can I try your Dark Element?’
’Go ahead,’ Roan didn’t mind. He, too, wanted to know more about the Robot.
