Death... and me

Chapter 3438: Making Good Use

Chapter 3438: Making Good Use

Down at the base of the mountain, Roan found a few disciples who had come down after the first test was done to continue their guarding duties. There were quite a few of them all around the mountain, even though it was enormous.

One of the disciples noticed Roan while guarding that location. "I didn’t expect one of the new disciples to come here so soon. Did you even check the sect before coming out? There are quite a few good things in the sect for you guys to get familiar with."

Roan shook his head in response. "We can always check them later. We came down here because of the forest. During the exam, we noticed how rich the Earth and Wood Elements in this forest are. Still, we don’t know much about this place. Which location in the forest has the highest concentration of those two Elements?"

Looking at the girl by Kentucky’s side, the disciple noticed she was a Demon Plant. Many Demon Plants try to join the sect exactly because of the forest surrounding it. "I see... In that case, give me your number, and I’ll show you the best location for it."

Roan didn’t mind and passed his number to the disciple. Finally, he received the message, which had a link to the map of the surrounding area of the sect. A red dot displayed on the map showed exactly where Roan’s group had to go. "Thank you."

Roan jumped on Kentucky’s back with Ridia, and their group flew away. With the entrance exam done, the disciples returned to their own cultivation times and explorations. Roan’s trio passed by quite a few of them who explored the forest, fought some of the Demon Beasts, Spirits, or Humanoid Races there, or just used the environment for training.

With Kentucky flying, they arrived at the location given to them not long after, feeling the Earth and Wood Elements in the surroundings increasing several times. Roan couldn’t help but nod in satisfaction. Herbert wasn’t kidding when he said that the best location to find those two elements was also the Divine Snow Mountain Sect.

Looking at Ridia by his side, he noticed her eyes shining as the elements seemed to naturally enter her body. That was to be expected, considering the amount available and the cultivation technique he created for her. They weren’t the only ones there, though. Within their Divine Senses, they could see one or another Demon Plant from different races, all of them in their real form, cultivating.

"Can I..." Ridia looked at Roan with expectation.

Roan nodded slightly. "Yes. Kentucky, find some open area for her to return to her real form."

Kentucky’s eyes immediately showed their advantage, noticing every single detail several tens of kilometers ahead. There weren’t only Demon trees but also small plants from smaller races. Within all of the trees and plants, there were even two with Divine Bloodlines, and the area was enormous. Chances were there were more Divine Trees and Plants that he hadn’t felt the presence of yet. "As expected of the most powerful sect of the Divine Snow World. They truly attract the cream... including the plants."

There seemed to be some hierarchy there. The Divine bloodlines obviously had the biggest areas reserved for themselves, and those with the highest cultivations had the second best. Then, some had to compete for smaller spots.

Of course, not only Demon Plants and Trees used Wood and Earth Elements. There were other races that also cultivated with them, so you could see a few humanoid and spirit races that had one of those two elemental affinities.

"Hum?" It was then that Kentucky found a more open area without many plants or other races. He quickly came down, landing near the center. "How about here? It’s quite bad compared to the best areas here, but there are very few experts around as well. Ridia’s cultivation technique that Roan created can absorb the elements from longer distances, right? I think this is the best cost-benefit location, especially if we don’t want unnecessary trouble."

Roan checked it with his Divine Sense. "Not bad. There is no need to fight for areas with higher concentration since this is already far above what you can find anywhere outside the sect. Ridia, give it a try."

Ridia’s eyes lit up and she jumped from Kentucky’s back. She quickly began to change back to her Parasol Tree form, her roots going deep underground.

There were few other disciples around, but they still noticed Ridia, especially her bloodline. It deeply confused them.

’Why someone with her bloodline would come here?’

’Shouldn’t that tree be fighting for the best areas?’

’She isn’t here to throw us out, is she? She might have a Divine Bloodline, but I won’t just give up since I have a higher cultivation.’

Nothing happened, though. Ridia stayed still, not contacting anyone. She obviously had no intention of asking anything to those who were in this area first. She just concentrated on the cultivation technique and her training.

Slowly but certainly, the speed at which she absorbed the Earth and Wood Elements in the surroundings increased. However, Roan’s cultivation technique was truly special. The elements didn’t simply disappear into Ridia’s body. Instead, they passed through her roots, trunk, branches, and leaves, ultimately coming out and spreading again.

You could say that her cultivation technique worked like a filter, and the elements that came out later were even better than when they got into her body. There just wasn’t as much concentration of them when that happened, so the others around didn’t notice it.

In the end, seeing that neither Ridia nor her two friends caused any trouble, the demon trees, plants, and other disciples eventually forgot they were there and continued their own cultivation and training.

Back in the sect, Rean reached the residential district, where he didn’t have a room for himself. He wasn’t concerned, though. He simply entered the managing building of that area, displaying his ’Direct Disciple’ badge. Since everyone knew he was Rean Lotan’s Direct disciple, he might as well make good use of it.

"Hello, friend," Rean reached the counter. "Could you arrange a residence for me? Not just a room; I need a real big place."
