Death... and me

Chapter 3406: No Intention to Answer

Chapter 3406: No Intention to Answer

The Divine Snow Mountain was located right at the center of that continent. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the continent’s borders were demarcated by taking that same mountain as a landmark. Well, it happened countless years ago, so no one knew anymore.

The Divine Snow Forest, which sat at the base of the Divine Snow Mountain, extended for hundreds of thousands of kilometers. Yet, that was still inside the territory of the Divine Snow Mountain Sect. Nonetheless, the mountain was so enormous that it was still possible to see it from outside the forest. The sect, as big as it was, only occupied a tiny portion of that mountain at the very top. That was still hundreds of kilometers around the mountaintop, though.

At that moment, Rean found himself on the East side of the Divine Snow Forest, in a city called Olife. That was only one of the cities that surrounded that forest, and, of course, they were all governed by the subordinates of the sect.

The Sect test would start all around the Divine Snow Forest. It didn’t really matter which city you selected for that as the forest’s size was meticulously kept. That meant all the cities around it were at the same distance from the sect in the center of the forest. As for the test itself, it changed every time, so Rean didn’t know yet.

*Zush!*

Kentucky appeared by Rean’s side, who was just outside the city and looking in the forest’s direction. Or, to be more specific, Rean was looking at the Divine Snow Mountain inside it. "Now, that’s a big mountain, don’t you think? From what is said in the Divine Snow Network and the official website, the Sect is exactly 250000 kilometers away from this city. Yet, we can still barely see the mountain in the distance.

"I’m more interested in the Earth and Wood Elements in the forest itself," Kentucky commented, using his Divine Sense to feel the forest further inside. "Herbert wasn’t kidding. Even from here, I can few a high concentration of those elements. If we fail to enter the sect, we can still have Ridia cultivate near this forest. It shouldn’t be too bad."

"Well, that’s true," Rean agreed with him. "But getting inside would be even better."

"Can’t we just sneak in now?" Kentucky couldn’t help to ask.

Rean shook his head, though. "I already checked with Sister Orb; this entire forest is protected by a High-Level Divine Formation. Even worse, it is made in various layers. She would need to hack into various different formations just to allow us to get inside undetected, and that would take years. High-Level Divine Formations are much harder on the system than Low and Medium level ones."

[That’s not all,] Sister Orb commented after hearing those two. [The forest is also surrounded by environmental formations. That means the Divine Snow Mountain Sect has very fine control over the flow of elements, laws, and cultivation energies. They truly have no intention of letting any outsider take advantage of their resources.]

"Well, we can simply hide in the Dimensional Realm and cultivate from there," Kentucky said after pondering a bit.

"You didn’t understand at all," which was an idea Rean quickly dismissed. "Did you forget? The system works by absorbing laws, elements, and energies over a very big area. That’s why our Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm always has a higher concentration of those things. If we get inside, the system will continue to work like that, and we will be caught. We need to be members so the formations inside won’t care about what we do in there."

"I see..." It was the first time Kentucky thought the system’s absorption ability was more of a burden than an advantage. Usually, that absorption happens by taking a bit of all over a very big area, so those who are inside that same area won’t notice the difference. It is truly just a tiny bit of the overall range, no more than 0.1% or so. It seems to be very little, but it becomes a lot exactly because it is concentrated inside the Dimensional Realm right after. It’s just that with those formations in place, even this tiny bit would be easily caught.

[And that’s not considering they might have other methods of detection,] Sister Orb added.

Kentucky didn’t insist on that topic anymore. "Guess we can only take the test then."

Rean nodded and turned around to reenter the city. "Let’s go. We will go to the registration office."

At the same time, Rean contacted Roan and the others in the Dimensional Realm. ’It will be good if you also take the test. Otherwise, we will have to say that you are our subordinates or something like that. It would be annoying as well since you wouldn’t be able to move freely.’

Roan opened his eyes, accepting Rean’s suggestion. ’Very well.’

*Zush, zush, zush, zush!*

Roan, Rifindio, Ridia, and Zangeshu all appeared by Rean and Kentucky’s side as they made their way to the office. After so long, Ridia already could speak normally and was learning more and more under Kentucky and Roan’s guidance. Only her cultivation hasn’t changed much since the main focus up to this point was to create a cultivation technique for her.

As expected, there was a huge queue in there, but it wasn’t stuck. The registrations were being made at a lightning pace, with tens of thousands of terminals prepared for that exact task.

The twins’ group entered the same queue, waiting patiently for their time. Finally, around two hours later, it was their time, and they approached one of the terminals together. There, a disciple of the sect waited for them. "Why are you six here? The other five, step back and wait until I finish registering him," the guy said while looking at Rean.

No one complained, and they waited. Rean then passed his new ID, which was still the same Rick Sanchez from before. "Alright, Rick, you are done. You can check the requirements on the website by imputing your ID there. Next!"

Rean couldn’t help but ask. "Why take such a painful approach like these queues? Couldn’t the registration be made through the official website instead?"

The disciple glanced at Rean and snorted. "Hmph! And who are you to question the sect’s methods? Just fuck off and let me work."

Rean bitterly smiled and stepped aside. Roan, on the other hand... ’I quite like that guy.’
