Death... and me

Chapter 3403: Decaying Energy

Chapter 3403: Decaying Energy

"I took the liberty to attach a VS device to your cores so you can use it like you did before. I just had to make a few modifications, but nothing serious. You should be able to use them as you have been doing before losing your bodies," Rean concluded.

Gram, Duleti, and Farlo quickly tried to use them, and although it was a little different, they eventually managed to get that virtual picture in their souls.

'Yes, it does work,' Gram commented. 'I do have access to everything I had before. At least that much is possible...'

Duleti was quite surprised. 'You are truly good with these things, aren't you? I never heard about VS devices being used through puppets.'

Rean smiled. "Thank you for the compliment, but it was a job performed by both me and my disciple here. He also deserves his praises."

Zangeshu glanced at Rean for a moment before returning his attention to the puppets. He was still doing some last fine adjustments. "No need. I have no interest in your compliments."

"He's just shy..." Rean said as he laughed.

'So...' Farlo spoke. 'What now?'

Rean turned around, preparing to leave. "The nearest city should be Juntiy. It's a little far from the city we intended to go with the Warm Boats, but they have their own teleport formations. I'll leave the three of you there before I leave."

'Hey, don't forget to leave your number so we can contact you,' Gram quickly remembered.

However, Rean refused. "No can do. I have my reasons to not pass my number around. However, there is a way for you to contact me."

From there, Rean explained to them how to use the network to post a message that everyone could see at any time. He mentioned that he would take a look there once in a while. All Gram and the others had to do was to leave a message with a code that only they would know. And, to make things better, Rean agreed on a different code for each of them. None of them knew the other's code either. Safety is never too much.

"Marvin." Kentucky suddenly arrived. He had left for a moment after he returned with Roan to resolve some important issues... Well, who are we fooling? He left to eat, that's all. "I'm ready here. How are those three?"

"They are fine, Casper," Rean nodded. "Let's go out. My discipline here is more than enough to help them familiarize themselves with the puppets. Take the remaining time of our travel to get used to moving, flying, and things like that."

*Zush, zush!*

Then, Rean and Kentucky disappeared, leaving only Zangeshu with the puppets.

'Hey...' Duleti sent a Divine Sense Message to Zangeshu. 'What can you tell us about your master? You guys seem to have so many abilities...'

Zangeshu glared at her. "I'm not in the mood for those kinds of play. If you don't have anything useful to say or ask, then don't waste my time."

Duleti would smile bitterly if she knew how to control the puppet well. Trying to acquire information from Zaneshu? That was just ridiculous.

Outside, Rean and Kentucky appeared underneath the roots of a giant three, coming out and flying back to the sky. "Phew... It is good to see the clear sky again," Rean commented before landing on Kentucky's back.

"Right? I also felt the same after the blue clouds dissipated," Kentucky spoke, flapping his wings and flying away. "But... is it really okay to simply let them go, Rean?"

"It's fine," Rean nodded. "They know nothing about us. Sure, they saw quite a lot of our abilities, but can they guess anything out of that? We always change our appearances and identities, after all. Besides, even if we can be connected to our previous identities, that will take some time. By then, we will be long gone from this place."

"Oh... then that's fine." Kentucky didn't ask about Gram's group anymore. Looking behind, it was still possible to see a little bit of the blue clouds far in the distance as Kentucky continued to fly away. "Just what do you think the Glacial Overflow really was?"

Rean also turned his head, sighing. "I wish I knew. That Demon Beast was definitely in the Divinity Realm. Yet, everyone always said there weren't supposed to be Divinity Realm experts in the Divine Snow World. But, there was one thing that got my attention."

"Which is?"

"It looked more like migration," Rean continued. "We did hear that there were also some special demon beasts, spirits, etc, that appear in the Glacial Overflow, remember? Those Seals are obviously some of them... perhaps the strongest of them actually."

"Well, Roan and I did pass by a few more demon beasts and spirits," Kentucky commented. "It's just that they couldn't see past the Divine Sense and Light Bending Skill, so they didn't cause Roan and me problems. They, too, were moving south. However, that is strange. The Glacial Overflow always moves from north to south, never the other way around. Or, at least, that's what we heard. If they were all migrating south, when do they go back north?"

Rean pondered a bit. "That's a good question... Perhaps they don't?"

'In fact, that might be useful information,' Roan's voice echoed in Rean and Kentucky's mind. 'The Glacial Decay Runes we experienced did indeed have a powerful decaying property or energy if you will. Does that remind you of something?'

"Decaying Energy? That's more like your area, no?" Rean asked back. "It is something that Dark Element users exceed about. Even you can use it with your Dark Element, although you are much better off with the Dark Element's corrosive and destructive properties instead.'

'That's correct,' Roan confirmed Rean's words. 'Decaying Energy does have some Dark Element involvement in it, but using corrosive or destructive property is better, so I don't use it. However, those Glacial Decay Runes truly had a lot of this Decaying Property that we find in abundance in a certain place...'

Kentucky caught the gist. 'Are you saying the Glacial Overflow is connected to the Underworld?'

Indeed. If there was a place where Decaying Energy was abundant, that was definitely the underworld.
