Chapter 1304: I’m Sorry Princess
While Archer was busy checking up on the war effort, Sera sat in the room her mother assigned her. She was left alone after Teuila asked their husband to aid her in the ongoing battle between them and the Alliance.
‘I need to get back to my legion, but I want to see how things here changed,’ she thought with a smile just as the door knocked.
”Come in!” Sera exclaimed while standing up just as her mother walked in.
Natika smiled before speaking. ”Aylla. Would you like to deal with that bitch and her father? They’ve been in the dungeons for years.”
When the dragon woman heard this, the atmosphere in the room instantly changed, causing her mother to pale as she muttered. ”Why does it feel like a predator is looking at me?”
Sera giggled when hearing her mother’s words, which made her answer. ”That’s my dragon aura. It flares whenever I don’t control it, like Brooke taught me to.”
”Brooke?” Natika questioned with a curious expression.
”One of Archer’s older wives,” she answered with a smile. ”She looks after all the younger harem members.”
”He likes older women?” her mother asked.
Sera looked at her and nodded before explaining. ”Yes, he has peculiar tastes in women which amuses all of us.”
Afterward, Natika guided Aylla toward the dungeon, the two of them continuing their conversation. Along the way, Natika’s voice softened with regret as she apologized for the past. ”Aylla, I’m so sorry for letting your father and that woman banish you. I wish I’d been as strong as I am now. I just need you to know that.”
The dragon woman looked at her as her tail went stiff before commenting after shaking her head. ”After I deal with the bitch and her father, I want to see Kavi and see what he has to say.”
When the older woman heard this, she started giggling. ”Oh, he has my daughter. You know the man prays to the gods every morning for your return? A completely different man compared to how he was.”
Sera was curious but nodded as the Coyan guards stepped out of the way of a metal door before they saluted them. Natika started walking down the stone stairs as she followed behind.
‘Why are they staring at me?’ she wondered, casting a glance over her shoulder. Her eyes caught one man blatantly ogling her.
She halted mid-step, spun around, and jabbed a finger in his direction. ”If your filthy eyes linger on my ass one more time, I’ll gouge them out and toss you to a pack of Flesh Ghouls as a snack.”
Her mother stiffened, and the guard quickly bowed and stumbled out an apology. ”I’m sorry, princess!”
Sera nodded before continuing down the stairs as Natika commented. ”That was a strange threat. Does Archer have Ghouls on Draconia?”
She started laughing, causing the older woman to look confused, but she shook her head and explained. ”No. There are only harmless monsters on the island. I’m talking about his Domain with so many creatures that his horde could cover Thrylos.”
When Natika heard this, her ruby-red eyes widened in shock, causing her to laugh nervously. ”Lucky I offered to join the empire? Coya couldn’t handle any more monster waves.”
”Yes you are mother,” Sera answered honestly. ”We’ve already taken the southern and western parts of the Duskfire Empire while the Moonriver elves submitted to my husband by joining our side in the war.”
The older woman’s eyes widened for a moment before a knowing smile spread across her face. ”That doesn’t surprise me, to be honest. Empress Colestah is wise beyond her years. She only joined the Alliance because they held food over her people’s heads like a weapon.”
”Archer stepped in to help with that too,” Sera added, her words halting Natika in her tracks. ”He sent them heaps of food and even began restoring their lands so they could grow their crops again.”
Following that, the two of them stepped into the dungeon moments later and her mother led her to a cell at the back where the black-haired woman with dark brown skin sat meditating while sitting on the bed.
She skidded to a halt, a fierce growl rumbling from her throat. The sound snapped the woman’s attention toward her. When her piercing dragon eyes snapped onto the figure, they blazed with fury, and Xochitl’s widened in abject horror.
A cruel smile curled on her lips as she hissed, ”Hello, Xochitl Capac. Remember me, you wretched bitch?”
Before her mother could even reach for the door, Sera shifted in a flash of shimmering scales and wings, transforming into her Fairy Dragon form. She shot into the cell like a streak of vengeance, her presence radiating an oppressive aura.
Xochitl froze, rooted to the spot, her core shaken by the sheer power bearing down on her as she finally spoke in a voice full of shock and horror. ”How are you still alive? We sent you to a whole other continent so far away that you shouldn’t be here.”
When hearing the panic in the woman’s voice, she started giggling just as a man’s booming voice rang out. ”Do not bully my daughter! It’s bad enough we’ve been here for years, but there’s no need to torment us.”
When she heard that voice, her head snapped in its direction, causing the man to yelp in fear as she returned to her dragon form and flew toward him as Nakita quickly spoke. ”What are you planning to do, daughter?”
Sera returned to her humanoid form and answered with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. ”Debating whether to feed him to giant ants or skin him alive before hanging his body from the palace walls.”
Nakita looked horrified when hearing this and muttered. ”So the Alliance was right in that regard.”
Her head snapped to her mother with narrowed eyes, causing the older woman to become nervous and quickly explained. ”They say Archer likes to torture and crucify people all across Thrylos.”
When Sera heard this, her head tilted before revealing. ”Well, he does but only criminals, scum, anyone who hurts us, and corrupt officials. I must say that it works mother, Draconia is like a utopia for the normal people and they worship him for it.”
”What’s so special about it?” her mother asked with a curious expression.
”I’ll take you there once I’m finished here,” Sera replied coolly, her voice laced with menace.
With a flick of her wrist, she summoned her claws, which shocked everyone who saw it, the sharp glint drawing a startled yelp from the older man. She stalked toward him, a wicked gleam twisting her beautiful face.
Gripping his throat with one hand, she began peeling the skin from his cheek. Blood sprayed in a chaotic arc as Duke Huayna Capac’s screams echoed in terror. Sera was enjoying the pain she was inflicting.
‘You ruined the earlier part of my life!’ she internally raged, without feeling sorry for the duke. ‘You deserve this as retribution.’
Five minutes later, she finished flaying one side of the man’s face, who long stopped screaming and let out whimpers, which made her laugh. Sera stood up and stretched while covered in blood.
Sera stormed back to Xochitl’s cell, her eyes narrowing as she glared at the woman who’d once betrayed her. ”I can’t be bothered with torturing you myself,” she warned, her tone icy. ”My husband or sisters can handle the dirty work. Morena, especially, she’s got some twisted tricks for making someone suffer without even killing them.”
As she finished, Sera’s gaze flicked to the older woman, a curious glint sparking in her eyes. ”Or maybe,” she mused, her voice taking on a chilling edge, ”The necromancer sisters could turn you into a weapon for the war?”
Xochitl started trembling in fear, which shocked her Mother who became slightly frightened of her daughter, but when Sera saw the woman scared, it made her smile before taking something out of her space ring.
”If you want to make it up to me, second mother,” she said with an edge and handed her a slave collar. ”Put this on and serve my family. If I deem you no longer hate me, then I’ll remove it so you can live a normal life as a maid or you can suffer for years to come at the hands of an evil pair of sisters.”
When the older saw the collar, she quickly snatched it and put it on while replying as she got on all fours and slammed her head into the ground. ”Please let me serve you Aylla. I will be the most loyal maid you have ever seen, but just don’t kill or torture me, please!” she pleaded in a deseperate tone.
”Wow, this is something I never expected to see,” Nakita commented from outside.
Sera’s head snapped in her direction before retorting. ”Do you have a problem, mother? The palace needs more maids and the slave collar will make sure she won’t do anything to harm me or my family.”
