Yuan’s Ascension

Chapter 1113: The Nine Megaverses Spacetime (2)

Chapter 1113: The Nine Megaverses Spacetime (2)

“The River of Universes is the cradle of mortal and sempiternal lifeforms. The vast cosmic sea is the paradise of eternal powerhouses, the battlefield of those pursuing the supreme level,” Saint Zuo Zai said solemnly.

A glimmer of longing flashed through Wu Yuan’s eyes.

The River of Universes was expansive, holding immense power, but under the rules of heaven and earth’s operation, the level of danger within the River of Universes was limited, and so were the opportunities. The cosmic sea held endless possibilities.

Eternal powerhouses born in the River of Universes are just the tip of the glacier that is the cosmic sea. Wu Yuan thought to himself. Those countless naturally-born eternal lifeforms are the true natives of the cosmic sea… Let’s see how far I, Wu Yuan, can go as a sempiternal lifeform.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Wu Yuan and Saint Zuo Zai flew directly into that torn spacetime passageway, swiftly disappearing.

This expanse of spacetime also returned to calm.

Inside the passageway, all was dark. The spacetime fluctuations were chaotic, filled with countless profundities.

Two figures advanced rapidly.

This? Wu Yuan was shocked as he sensed these strands of spacetime fluctuations passing by. These fluctuations contained astonishing power; ordinary Sovereigns would likely be completely annihilated by them.

I can’t comprehend them at all? Wu Yuan was inwardly alarmed.

“Overlord Ming Jian, this is the Saint Realm passageway. The spacetime rules of the cosmic sea originate from the Primordial Rules and are completely different from those within the River of Universes,” Saint Zuo Zai seemed to read Wu Yuan’s mind. “To be precise, before fully comprehending a Great Dao, all Daos and Laws are merely foundational.

“Once one fully comprehends a Great Dao and creates an eternal ultimate technique, it will be an entirely different world.”

Wu Yuan listened intently.

The two sped through space at incredible velocities.

Suddenly, a vague ripple passed by. Wu Yuan felt his mind tremble slightly, as if he had exited a familiar, protected environment. It was like an infant leaving its mother’s womb, entering a new realm of existence. All sense of karma, destiny, and divinations of past and future seemed to grow hazy.

Spacetime. Wu Yuan could sense that spacetime had become utterly different.

This was the spacetime of the cosmic sea. In an instant, Wu Yuan understood that he had truly left the River of Universes behind and entered the cosmic sea.

“Entering the cosmic sea for the first time causes your perception to undergo earth-shattering changes. It takes time to adapt,” Saint Zuo Zai smiled. “Though we are traveling through a Saint Realm passage, we can still sense the world outside. Try perceiving the River of Universes.”

Wu Yuan immediately attempted to do so.

It was blurry.

“It doesn’t exist?” Wu Yuan turned back, looking with bewilderment in that direction. In his hazy perception, there seemed to be only the endless flow of Xiantian qi streams. Where was the River of Universes?

No! It wasn’t that the River of Universes didn’t exist.

“It’s in another spacetime dimension?” Wu Yuan instantly grasped this. That vast region seemed to hold extraordinary power and hide great secrets. But he simply couldn’t perceive it clearly.

“Spacetime is essentially divided into three dimensions,” Saint Zuo Zai’s voice was low and solemn.

“The first dimension is where the River of Universes lies. What you call the Material Spatial Layer, Fragmentary Spatial Layer, Spacetime Intersection Layer, and so on, are all part of the River of Universes dimension. This is the shallowest dimension, called the River of Universes dimension.

“The second dimension is the cosmic sea dimension, also known as the eternal dimension. This dimension is the birthplace of countless marvels and profundities of the infinite cosmic sea.

“Crossing between the River of Universes dimension and cosmic sea dimension is difficult. It’s relatively easier to enter the cosmic sea dimension from the River of Universes dimension, but nearly impossible the other way round,” Saint Zuo Zai explained.

Wu Yuan listened silently.

He had only read about many of these secrets in intelligence reports, but experiencing them firsthand naturally allowed him to understand these concepts far more clearly.

There are no traces of my destiny and spacetime threads in the cosmic sea dimension. Wu Yuan mused.

The so-called cosmic sea dimension was in fact ‘above the River’, truly eternal and indestructible. On the other hand, the River of Universes dimension went through cycle after cycle of samsara.

Wu Yuan himself had not yet transcended to eternity; thus while his physical body could visit the cosmic sea dimension, his fundamental nature as a lifeform was utterly incompatible with this entire cosmic sea. In a sense, he was ‘smuggling’ in.

“What about the third dimension?” Wu Yuan asked.

“The third dimension is the Primordium dimension. Legend has it that this dimension has completely transcended spacetime. Time and space lose all meaning there. Only the Primordium remains, where all past, present and future converge into a single point, containing the ultimate profundities.” Saint Zuo Zai spoke solemnly, his eyes revealing a hint of longing.

The Primordium dimension? Wu Yuan was taken aback. This information had never been mentioned in any intelligence reports.

“Haha, Overlord Ming Jian, no need to dwell on it. I’ve only heard rumors of the Primordium dimension. It’s said that even Dao Zenithel Eternals can only vaguely sense it, unable to actually enter,” Saint Zuo Zai laughed wistfully. “It’s far too distant from us. No need to think too much about it.”

Wu Yuan nodded slightly.

Even Dao Zenithel Eternals couldn’t enter? Did that mean only the legendary fifth-step Eternals could? Wu Yuan could only speculate.

Boom! A hazy spacetime ripple swept across the vast cosmic sea, enveloping Wu Yuan and Saint Zuo Zai within.

“This Saint Realm passage feels rather crudely constructed,” Wu Yuan couldn’t help but remark.

He could vaguely sense the external world. Countless bizarre celestial bodies could be seen in the distant void, along with surging Xiantian spiritual qi. This was the cosmic sea.

“Saint Realm passages are naturally crude, far inferior to natural passageways created by the rules of heaven and earth’s operation,” Saint Zuo Zai smiled at Wu Yuan’s words. “Whether it be the spacetime passages of the Saint Realms established by True Saints or Eternal Realms of Dao Zenithels, they are all quite crude. With sufficient strength, one could even intercept those traveling through the passage.”

“Intercept?” Wu Yuan was shocked.

But then he understood. Traversing the cosmic sea was like flying through the air. Even if one took the so-called Saint Realm passages and Eternal Realm passages, one was still essentially flying through space. They were all methods of traveling through the cosmic sea dimension. Theoretically, one could be intercepted. It was just extremely difficult to do so.

“This Saint Realm passage is established by projecting the Saint Realm into the universe, creating a connection between the two,” Saint Zuo Zai explained.

The years passed.

The cosmic sea was vast and boundless, filled with uncountable bizarre celestial bodies and innumerable dangers. But with the protection of the Saint Realm passage, Wu Yuan and Saint Zuo Zai seemed to exist in another spacetime dimension and encountered no dangers.

All the while, Wu Yuan perceived the external world, growing increasingly familiar with the environment of the cosmic sea.

Hmm? Wu Yuan’s eyes narrowed. He vaguely sensed an immense spacetime disturbance not far away. It was a concentration of vast, blazing hot power.

“A world? A universe?” Wu Yuan had a vague sense that countless beings inhabited that region.

“That’s a Saint Realm. It should be the Xiao Yao Saint Realm of the Immortal Court, established by True Saint Xiao Yao,” Saint Zuo Zai said solemnly. “A Saint Realm’s power is boundless. With a True Saint residing within, its power can rival a Dao Zenithel. That’s also a True Saint’s home base.”

The Xiao Yao Saint Realm? Wu Yuan silently committed this to memory.

“The infinite cosmic sea is broadly divided into two regions: the Heartland and the Outer Region,” Saint Zuo Zai continued.

“The Heartland is relatively small in scope. It’s the area influenced by the River of Universes’ essence, and where the power of the Primordial Rules is extremely prominent. The vast majority of Dao Zenithels and True Saints are unwilling to enter this region unless they are eternal powerhouses born from the River of Universes within the last nine samsara cycles of heaven and earth.

“Those who have exceeded that age, and naturally-born eternal lifeforms, will all be suppressed in the Heartland region,” Saint Zuo Zai explained. “So they’re reluctant to come to the Heartland region unless necessary.”

Wu Yuan nodded slightly.

Among the thirty-six universes, there were only several hundred Saintdoms, with several hundred True Saints behind them. But this was just a small fraction of the total number of True Saints. The vast majority of True Saints couldn’t stay in the Heartland region for long, so they were unable to project their Saint Realms into the River of Universes, much less establish Saint Realms in the Heartland region.

In simpler terms, the True Saints who could open Saintdoms within the River of Universes were all relatively young.

“Young True Saints who have just opened Saint Realms all reside in the core region of the Heartland. As time passes, their Saint Realms will gradually move further out, until they leave the Heartland region,” Saint Zuo Zai said softly. “Meanwhile, within the River of Universes, the samsara cycles of heaven and earth occur again and again.

“In each samsara cycle of heaven and earth, many new Eternals are born. Some achieve eternity through their own efforts within the River of Universes, giving rise to large numbers of Heaven’s Stowaways.

“In the cosmic sea, even more naturally-born eternal lifeforms come into being. They face limitations, making it extremely difficult to create their own Daos, but they have the advantage of numbers. Over long ages, many still manage to break through.

“Since the Primordial Era, hundreds of samsara cycles of heaven and earth have gone by. Now, in the Nine Megaverses Spacetime, I’m not clear about the other eight megaverses, but in our Central Megaverse alone, the number of Saint Realms has exceeded ten thousand.” Saint Zuo Zai said.

Behind every flourishing Saint Realm stood a True Saint Eternal. Over ten thousand Saint Realms meant over ten thousand True Saint Eternals.

“The Nine Megaverses Spacetime?” Wu Yuan seemed to realize something. “Saint, are you saying there are other megaverses besides ours?”
