Chapter 2717 Destroying The Young Master's Sect
Lin Mu stood high up in the sky as he observed the River Bending Axe Sect below.
Just like its name, the sect was built around a large river, with two of its divisions positioned along its bend. The Left Bank was on the inner side of the bend, while the Right Bank was on the outer side.
Both divisions housed numerous buildings, ranging from large halls and pavilions to smaller houses intended for disciples. There were courtyards as well as rows of houses, their arrangement dependent on the rank of the disciples. The inner disciples enjoyed private courtyards, whereas the outer court disciples were confined to shared housing.
However, the core disciples and the sect's higher-ups resided in the Central Ridge. This ridge was essentially an island—a large rock jutting out from the middle of the river. Evident signs of erosion on its sides suggested that it had stood for countless years.
Perched atop this rock was the heart of the sect, consisting of a cluster of grand halls and a towering palace that served as the sect's core.
But at this moment, the sect was far from its former glory.
"What happened here?" Lin Mu wondered, his brows furrowing.
He observed that an entire section of the Left Bank division had been demolished, with rubble strewn everywhere. A smaller portion of the Right Bank division had suffered a similar fate. Most striking, however, was the Central Palace—it bore a gaping hole that stretched from the roof all the way down through multiple floors, reaching the main hall.
"Did someone attack them already?" Lin Mu pondered.
Another surprising observation was the eerie emptiness. A sect of this size should have been bustling with activity, even during the night.
Scanning the area, Lin Mu finally spotted a large congregation at the sect's gate. The group appeared to be in a heated discussion, their gestures animated. Though he couldn't hear them from his vantage point, their fervor suggested they were preparing for something.
'Those must be the elders… are they giving out orders?' Lin Mu speculated.
The scene below matched one of the worst-case scenarios he had anticipated.
"Looks like they've received news of the High Elder's fall and are preparing for an all-out offense." A deep frown settled on Lin Mu's face.
This was the most dangerous possibility, and he knew he couldn't afford to be complacent. Steeling his resolve, he decided to strike with full force right from the start.
HUUU—
Taking a deep breath, Lin Mu pulled back his right fist, channeling a vast amount of energy into it.
A formidable surge of Immortal Essence and Metal Elemental Immortal Qi coalesced, manifesting as red and yellow ribbons swirling in his arm. These ribbons spun in opposite directions, forming a rapidly tightening double helix.
Once the energy reached its peak, the two colors fused, creating an intense orange glow.
"Mountain Collapsing Fist: Third Form—Metal Devastator!" Lin Mu roared, thrusting his fist forward.
WOOING—
A spiraling helix of energy erupted from his fist, streaking toward the sect like a comet. Its immense velocity caused the surrounding air to ripple violently, creating an audible shockwave.
BOOM!
The attack slammed into the sect's protective array, meeting resistance for only a brief moment before tearing through it.
SHATTER!
The once-impenetrable barrier, strong enough to withstand multiple attacks from a Seventh Tribulation Stage Immortal, crumbled in an instant.
At the gate, the gathered disciples and elders turned their gazes skyward just in time to witness the devastation.
"Heavens! The sect is under attack!" a disciple screamed in horror.
"How can this be!?" an elder gasped.
"The barrier is broken!? Even if all the High Elders attacked together, it wouldn't collapse so easily!" another elder shouted in disbelief.
Among them, the High Elders exchanged anxious glances, their minds racing. Even if they combined their strength, could they have achieved such destruction? Their thoughts were soon drowned out by the roaring energy spiral streaking toward the Central Ridge.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The Metal Devastator smashed into the sect's core, burrowing through the Central Palace with terrifying force. The structure, once a symbol of the sect's strength, crumbled like a fragile sandcastle. Debris was flung in all directions, turning into deadly projectiles that razed nearby buildings.
BANG!
The attack did not stop there. Its energy had only begun to unfold.
The shockwave alone reduced entire halls and pavilions on both the Left and Right Banks to rubble. Flames and dust choked the air as the attack continued its path of destruction.
Finally, it reached the very foundation of the Central Ridge, drilling into the rock upon which the sect was built. The immense force penetrated deep into the riverbed, rupturing the earth itself.
For a moment, an eerie silence settled over the land. It was the calm before the final, devastating climax.
KABOOM!
The entire island that housed the sect's core exploded. A titanic eruption of rock, dust, and shrapnel filled the sky, raining devastation upon the entire River Bending Axe Sect.
TREMBLE!
The land beneath the sect quaked violently, as if nature itself was retaliating. Buildings that had miraculously remained standing now succumbed to the relentless tremors. Cracks spread like spiderwebs across the ground before entire sections collapsed into the earth.
Disciples who had been within the buildings screamed in terror as they were buried beneath the wreckage.
The sect was in ruins.
Lin Mu hovered above, his gaze impassive.
"The River Bending Axe Sect… is finished." His voice was a quiet murmur, but in the wake of such devastation, it carried the weight of finality.
For years, the sect had terrorized the weak, manipulated power, and acted with unchecked arrogance. Now, it had reaped the consequences of its actions.
As dust and debris settled, the remaining survivors looked up at the sky in despair, searching for the one who had brought doom upon them.
Lin Mu's figure remained suspended in the heavens, like an unrelenting deity delivering judgment.
This battle was over.
But Lin Mu knew that war… had only just begun.
