2709 Beginning Of The Fall
The River Bending Axe Sect didn't know that their bad days were just beginning.
The complaint reports that they had received were just the start. As the day went on, more and more reports piled up until they exceeded a hundred. At first, the elders thought it was merely a coincidence-random grievances from various business partners. After all, in the world of cultivation, disputes and conflicts were common. But as the hours passed, it became clear that this was no ordinary backlash.
These weren't just minor disputes over trade discrepancies or
misunderstandings over delayed shipments. These were serious accusations, spanning from fraud and breach of contract to outright criminal activity.
Entire shipments had mysteriously gone missing, high-value deals had been canceled, and their reputation was being smeared across the realms. What was worse, it wasn't just the business side of their sect suffering-there were shocking reports of their disciples and elders being arrested across multiple worlds.
At first, the reasons seemed trivial-some arrested for being too loud in restaurants, others for minor scuffles. But then the accusations escalated. Theft, robbery, smuggling, extortion, and even murder. These weren't fabricated charges, either.
Many of these incidents had already been officially recorded and backed by powerful factions. While the sect had always had its share of run-ins with the law, they had never faced such an overwhelming number of cases at once.
The real nightmare, however, came when the elders reviewed the latest reports. Over ninety-nine percent of their members who were posted outside of Jui World had been detained or outright vanished.
It was as if an unseen force had orchestrated their downfall with precision. The realization sent waves of panic through the sect's leadership. Their external influence, which had taken centuries to build, had been crippled in a single day. By the time the Patriarch and all the elders convened to address the crisis, it was already night. The once-majestic grand hall of the sect, adorned with ornate banners and glowing lanterns, now seemed suffocating. The elders, usually exuding arrogance and confidence, sat pale-faced, their once-proud postures slumped.
"What... just what did we do to deserve this?" The Patriarch muttered, sweat dripping down his face while his heart pounded in his chest.
"Patriarch," the elder in charge of intelligence reports spoke hesitantly, his voice barely above a whisper.
No one paid him attention.
"Patriarch..." The elder tried again, a bit louder this time.
Still, no response.
The elder swallowed nervously. He knew what he was about to say could break what little composure remained within the room, but he had no choice.
"Patriarch!" he finally shouted.
The Patriarch, exhausted and enraged, glared at him. "What now? Did my concubines cuckold me?" he snapped.
The elder flinched but forced himself to speak. "I have a message from one of our informants."
"Who?"
"He's a minor one, an independent operator."
"What does he have to say?" an elder asked, sensing the urgency in the report. The elder took a deep breath before delivering the message. "He says that we've touched someone we shouldn't have. And now he has to flee Jui World because of us. He also emphasized, and I quote... 'Fuck your mom."
Silence.
The hall was frozen. The words echoed in their minds, unable to be ignored. Then, suddenly-
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The Patriarch exploded in rage. His aura surged violently, and a terrifying burst of energy erupted from his body. The force was so immense that the entire grand hall trembled. Before anyone could react, he shot upward, blasting straight through the roof, shattering it into pieces. Debris rained down as massive pillars crumbled, forcing the elders to scramble for safety.
Outside, disciples and other members of the sect looked up in shock as they
witnessed the enectacle
"The Patriarch is destroying our sect!" someone cried out in horror.
"The Patriarch has lost his mind!" another wailed.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Several buildings collapsed under his relentless attacks. In his blind fury, he had obliterated entire sections of the sect grounds. Homes, training halls, and storage facilities were reduced to rubble within minutes.
"Noooo! My house!" one disciple lamented, falling to his knees as he watched his residence crumble before his eyes.
Despite the destruction, no one dared intervene. Who would have the audacity to stop the raging Patriarch? Even the most powerful elders were still reeling from the situation, barely able to process what was happening.
But then, amidst his rampage, the Patriarch suddenly froze. His eyes widened in shock. His chest tightened. A sharp pain pierced through his core.
He coughed violently-
SPLURT!
A mouthful of blood sprayed from his lips, staining his robes. He barely had time
to react before his body trembled, his limbs turning weak.
"The Patriarch is in Qi deviation!"
"Heavens! He's falling!"
Like a brick, the once-mighty leader plummeted from the sky. The ground quaked as his body crashed into the debris below, sending dust and rubble
flying everywhere.
A chorus of gasps erupted from the disciples. Their mighty leader, the one who had ruled the sect with an iron fist, lay unconscious, blood pooling around him.
The elders rushed over, checking his condition. "He's alive, but severely weakened! We need to take him for immediate treatment!"
As the disciples scrambled to move him, back in the ruined grand hall, the remaining elders stood in stunned silence.
The elder who had delivered the report trembled, his heart pounding as he thought to himself, 'It's a good thing I didn't tell him that two of his wives are cheating on him with the core disciples... he might have taken my head off on
the spot.
That had been additional information that the intelligence brokers had slipped into their report-information that no one had asked for but had been conveniently included, almost as if someone wanted to rub salt into the wound.
Meanwhile, the Grand Elder, who was now responsible for taking charge of the sect in the Patriarch's absence, sat down heavily. His face was pale, his body trembling. He reached into his robes, pulling out a handful of medicinal pills and swallowing them as if they were candy.
