VILLAIN MMORPG: ALMIGHTY DEVIL EMPEROR AND HIS SEVEN DEMONIC WIVES
Chapter 1033 - 1033: Small HopeVillain Ch 1033. Small Hope
Allen chuckled, leaning back in his chair. “Yeah. Glad you guys like it,” he said in a playful tone. He couldn’t help but reflect on the contrast between his past and present. There was a time when he thought he would never escape the anger and pain that defined his teenage years.
The rebellious, street-roaming kid he’d once been seemed worlds apart from the man he had become—a young master in a powerful gaming empire family, surrounded by people who truly cared about him.
The girls, picking up on his lighter mood, decided to take the teasing up a notch.
“I wonder how Sophia would react if she found out your true identity, a successful gamer and young master with an entire empire at your fingertips,” Jane mused with a sly smile, twirling her fork between her fingers. “I bet she’d be losing her mind.”
Zoe smirked and leaned in. “She would definitely be shocked. After all, she’s been trying to get back with you.”
“I bet she’d flip out,” Shea chimed in, laughing softly.
“Exactly,” Larissa added, crossing her arms. “She’s been looking for some wealthy guy to latch onto ever since things with Elio didn’t work out.”
Vivian nodded in agreement. “I’ve heard that too. Apparently, she’s been flirting with some of the higher-ups at the agency. Trying to secure her next meal ticket.”
Emma, who had been listening quietly, finally spoke up. “Elio, huh? Is that the guy she cheated on you with?” Her voice was sharp, and there was a glint of protective anger in her eyes.
“No. Elio is a guy she knew from Hell’s Gate. His in-game name is Mac. He’s the leader of one of the top guilds and the one who stole my team before the last tournament. Well… he didn’t really ‘steal’ my team, but they left me to join him. It hurt, though,” Allen explained.
Azura chimed in, looking at Emma. “Remember what I was telling you last night? About the top guilds and the issues between top players named Mac and Yora? Sophia’s in-game name is Yora, and she’s a bit of a ‘pick me’ healer, always seeking attention.”
Emma’s eyes widened in recognition. “Ah! So she’s that Yora. I looked into it this morning on the forums and saw the drama about her, that guy and other players. Makes sense now.”
Larissa rolled her eyes dramatically, clearly unimpressed by the whole situation. “I swear, some people are so predictable. She probably thought hopping from guy to guy was the way to win at life.”
Shea nodded in agreement. “And look how that worked out for her. She’s scrambling to find another rich guy while Allen’s sitting here, living his best life.”
“Did her relationship with that cheater guy even last?” Emma asked, curious.
“No,” Allen replied with a small chuckle. “From what I heard, it fell apart quickly.”
Vivian let out a soft laugh. “Well, she’s probably out there now, thinking she’s so clever, trying to reel in some other wealthy guy. It’s kind of sad, really.”
“Not just sad,” Bella interjected, shaking her head with a hint of amusement. “Pathetic. Honestly, Allen, you dodged a bullet.”
“Not just dodged,” Shea added, leaning back in her chair. “You avoided a whole minefield. Imagine being stuck in that mess.”
Allen couldn’t help but laugh, a real, genuine laugh. “Yeah, you guys are right. I guess I didn’t see it back then, but I really did dodge a huge mess. I was too naive, thinking she cared about me because she showed up when I was at my lowest.
Turns out, she just liked the idea of me, not who I really was.” Allen realized this was the main reason why he was always on guard and was afraid to show his true self.
Vivian reached over and patted his hand. “Well, now you know better. And you’ve got people around you who actually care about who you are, not what you can do for them.”
Zoe grinned and leaned in teasingly. “Yeah, like us. You’re stuck with us, Allen, whether you like it or not.”
“Exactly,” Allen said with a playful smile, glancing around the table. “And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
There was a comfortable silence for a moment as the girls smiled at him, clearly pleased with his response. Then Larissa couldn’t help herself. “So, do we get a bonus round of omelets or what? I feel like we earned it after all that deep conversation.”
The table erupted in laughter, and Allen shook his head, amused. “How about you guys let me recover first?” he joked. “I just made an omelet for Azura.”
“Recovery?” Jane raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “From cooking or from last night?”
Allen feigned innocence, glancing around the table. “A bit of both, maybe? You guys wore me out.”
“Poor baby,” Shea teased, reaching over to playfully ruffle his hair. “We’ll take it easy on you. For now.”
Azura, who had been quietly eating her omelet, finally spoke up. “I didn’t expect you to cook this well. I mean, considering everything,” she said, glancing at Allen.
“Well, this is way better than anything I can make,” Jane quipped. “Instant noodles.”
Vivian nudged Larissa with a grin. “That’s not saying much, Jane. You can barely make toast without burning it.”
“Hey!” Jane protested with a mock glare. “I’m not that bad.”
The teasing continued, lightening the atmosphere, but Azura remained thoughtful. Her mind drifted back to what Allen had said earlier about Sophia. There was something comforting in knowing he had moved on, but it also reminded her of her own complicated feelings toward him.
But watching Allen now, so at ease, surrounded by people who genuinely cared for him, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of contentment. He was happy, and that was all that mattered. Even if she had to keep her feelings tucked away, Azura knew deep down that she wanted Allen to be happy, even if it wasn’t with her.
‘If fate wants us to be together, we will,’ she thought, clinging to the small hope that perhaps, someday, things would change. She didn’t need to force it. For now, being near him, watching him flourish, was enough.
