(Second update)
Upon seeing Yang Qingyin, Yang Qingye immediately put on a smiling face, stepped aside to let Yang Qingyin in.
“Sis, I was wondering when you would arrive; didn’t expect it to be so soon. It’s really cold outside, come in and have a seat. I’ll call the waiter to serve tea. What would you like to drink? Longjing tea?”
Yang Qingyin didn’t pay much attention to Yang Qingye’s enthusiasm, just nodded slightly before taking a seat on the chair.
“Qingye, go back and rest early. I’ll contact you if there’s anything,” Luo Ziling issued a direct eviction order upon seeing Yang Qingye sit down as well.
“Alright, I’ll leave so as not to get in the way of your love talk,” Yang Qingye said, and immediately stood up, then started to pack up her things to leave.
“What did you tell Ziling?” Yang Qingyin asked Yang Qingye, “Still consulting him on how to deal with your mess?”
“Sis, both,” Yang Qingye didn’t dare lie and honestly reported the matters she discussed with Luo Ziling. Without waiting for Yang Qingyin to reply, she immediately ran outside, teasing Yang Qingyin on her way out, “Sis, keep brother-in-law company. I won’t interfere. Stay a while longer so brother-in-law’s warmth can reheat your cold heart…”
Yang Qingyin picked up a cup from the table, pretending to throw it at Yang Qingye, who screamed and fled out the door.
“Are you upset?” Luo Ziling snatched the cup from Yang Qingyin’s hand, put it back on the table, then reached out to caress her cheek, “Qingye just told me about tonight’s incident. If you’re upset, just tell me. Don’t bottle it up inside; it can be very uncomfortable.”
“Actually, it’s just those issues, nothing else,” Yang Qingyin held the hand Luo Ziling had on her face and gently caressed it, smiling bitterly, “I just didn’t expect my dad to discuss this matter in front of so many guests. After returning home, I argued with him for a bit, but thankfully my mom was there to smooth things over, otherwise we would have definitely had a fight.”
Luo Ziling recounted what Yang Qingye had told him before asking, “What did you say after you got home?”
“I made it clear to my dad that I wouldn’t go study abroad, at most I’d pursue a master’s degree at our own university, and I wouldn’t accept an arranged marriage from the family.” At this point, Yang Qingyin scoffed, “I knew what my dad meant by saying those words in public, to let everyone know he planned to send me away for studies and then prepare a marriage alliance with some well-off family’s son. I’m just not going to fulfill his wishes.”

“I don’t even know what to say,” Luo Ziling chuckled bitterly as well, “Actually, I’m quite curious. Your dad has been low-key recently; I wonder what he’s busy with.”
“My dad went abroad for a visit a few days ago, then got busy with a sports meet; he is the deputy chairman of the Sports Meet Preparation Committee. So, he doesn’t have much time to deal with our affairs.” After explaining, Yang Qingyin then asked Luo Ziling, “Are you suspecting something?”
“It’s been a while since the Yang Family has plotted against me, and I’m not quite accustomed to it. Do I seem a bit masochistic?” Luo Ziling said with a wry smile, “I’ve been thinking that your grandfather and your dad will never let go of me, an enemy of the Yang Family. So, they will definitely take some action against me.”
“Perhaps some small moves have been made by the Yang Family, and you’re just unaware of them,” Yang Qingyin said softly, “But based on what I know about my dad, he won’t act rashly now that he is aware of your capabilities. If he does act, it’ll cause you significant losses, even a great deal of trouble. So, you should still be careful. Thankfully, your dad arranged two bodyguards for you.”
“These two got some skills,” Luo Ziling told Yang Qingyin everything that had happened that day, then added with a bitter smile, “Senior, the Ling Family’s people have even more tricks up their sleeves. In my opinion, they harbor even deeper resentment towards my mother and me than the Yang Family does.”
After hearing what Luo Ziling had said, and seeing him proudly recount how he had dangled Lin Jiaming upside-down out the window, Yang Qingyin was startled, and she said with palpable anxiety, “Junior, what if you had slipped? Wouldn’t that have caused big trouble? Lin Jiaming would have been smashed into pulp, and you would’ve become a murderer. Even if you weren’t executed by firing squad, you’d still end up in jail for many years.”
“How could I possibly slip? He seemed very strong, and I just wanted to scare him a bit,” Luo Ziling reassured her with a smile, then continued, “What puzzles me is the reaction from Great Grandfather and my grandpa; they seemed completely indifferent to the incident as if it didn’t matter at all. I don’t know what their attitude means—I’m not afraid of being blamed by them, my greatest fear is being ignored.”
“Right,” Yang Qingyin pondered Luo Ziling’s words seriously before agreeing, “Having them let you run wild, acting utterly indifferent, that’s the most terrifying. If they were angry or scolded you, that would mean they care about you, and you could place some hope in that. But if they totally ignore whatever you do, even if you do something outrageous and they don’t blame you, then there’s an issue.”
“Exactly, those who blame you are the ones who truly care for you, like the saying, ‘A beating is affection, a scolding is love’, huh?” Luo Ziling mused thoughtfully, “Even my mom sometimes blames me.”
“Eh, why do I feel a bit better after hearing about these dangerous things from you?” Yang Qingyin suddenly exclaimed in surprise, “I was so upset when I first got back and wanted to vent to you, but now it seems like it’s not a big deal anymore.”
Luo Ziling couldn’t help but chuckle and cry at the same time, “Senior, don’t put it so bluntly, huh? Even if you’re secretly pleased, you don’t have to say it out loud.”
“I’m not gloating at all,” Yang Qingyin quickly denied, “I would never do something like that!”
“As if I gloat all the time,” Luo Ziling grunted discontentedly, then playfully stroked Yang Qingyin’s nose, “Is my character really that bad?”
“You actually do it quite often,” Yang Qingyin sniffed indignantly, “In front of Fang Dongxun, in front of Ling Haining, in front of Lin Jiaming, I bet there have been times when you’ve gloated, right?”
“Alright, as long as I don’t do it in front of you, it’s fine.” Luo Ziling said, while he reached out and pinched Yang Qingyin’s cheek, “Actually, getting to touch Senior’s soft cheeks can make any unhappiness I have disappear right away.”
Yang Qingyin rolled her eyes, “You’ve got it all wrong. I was the one feeling down today and came to you for a talk. If you’re not feeling down, shouldn’t you comfort me a bit?”
“Uh, my bad,” Luo Ziling said, grabbing Yang Qingyin’s hand and placing it on his own cheek, “Feel my face, it’s also soft and delicate, great to touch. Give it a few more pats and your mood will improve, too.”
Yang Qingyin burst into laughter at this and didn’t touch Luo Ziling’s face. Instead, she pinched him, “Always so glib with words!”
“See, isn’t it working? You’re already laughing,” Luo Ziling said, as he gently stroked Yang Qingyin’s face again, “How about I accompany you to your new place tonight for sleep? I can give you a massage and listen to your chatter?”
Yang Qingyin didn’t expect Luo Ziling to make such a suggestion, and her pretty face instantly flushed red.
