The World Conquest: Giving Birth To Become A God
Chapter 763 - 763: The Real Price (2)“Then, I’ll take good care of your lab,” Maximus said, clenching the emblem Frir had given him.
Just as Frir had said, Maximus’s development of the ether devices for extracting plane origin had encountered a bottleneck.
According to his deductions, unless his profession reached its peak, his Absolute of Knowledge reached 100%, or he himself advanced to the Overlord Realm, he wouldn’t be able to break through this limitation.
Fortunately, there was a loophole that could circumvent the problem: the Space-Time Lab.
Equipped with the most advanced technologies in the Aeon Plane and empowered by the blessing of Frir’s Origin, the lab would give Maximus a high chance of creating an ether device capable of extracting plane origin.
“Good. With your path and your creative mind, I’m sure you’ll succeed,” Frir said with a rare smile.
As long as Maximus managed to increase the efficiency of absorbing plane origin, wouldn’t their advancement to the Tier 13 realm become much faster?
To Frir, sacrificing a little dignity in exchange for reaching the peak wasn’t a problem at all.
Hearing their conversation, the other Overlords also nodded in understanding.
Meanwhile, after settling with Frir, Maximus turned his attention to Nyx.
“Do you want the Abyss?” Nyx asked knowingly, even before Maximus could speak.
“Yes. Can you let me borrow it?”
The Abyss was his wife, Scarlet’s Origin. Without a Seed of Law of her own, Maximus had concluded that the only way to perfect Scarlet’s foundation was through the Abyss.
With the Abyss’s help, Scarlet could advance to the Absolute Realm much faster and with a perfect, ultimate foundation.
“I can’t let you borrow it, but you are allowed to use it.”
Nyx already knew of Scarlet’s relationship with Maximus.
Allowing one of his “children,” a being born from the Abyss, to advance to the Absolute Realm was actually beneficial to him.
As the will of a dimension, having another Absolute emerge from the Abyss would only strengthen him further.
As for letting Maximus meddle directly with the Abyss’s core? That was impossible.
“It’s fine,” Maximus smiled, seeing Nyx readily agree.
Compared to the others, the condition he placed on Nyx seemed the easiest. Not only did he not need to pay anything, but it would also ultimately strengthen Nyx.
What Nyx didn’t realize, however, was that Scarlet wasn’t merely planning to advance to the Absolute Realm—she was aiming to consolidate her foundation to perfection.
Once Scarlet succeeded, perhaps a third of the Abyss’s power would be carved away permanently.
Finishing the negotiation with Nyx, Maximus turned his attention to Sira.
“What do you want?” Sira asked, her heart pounding with nervousness.
Could it be… that this brat wants my body?
Given his reputation for keeping several wives, her heart skipped a beat.
Should I agree? Should I reject him? Should I make him agree to the conditions first?
While Sira was busy battling her chaotic thoughts, Maximus, after some thought, finally spoke:
“I want to use the Zerg Nest.”
The Zerg Nest was the source of all Zerg, a biological wonder, her Fruit of Origin when she advanced to the Overlord Realm.
With the Zerg Nest and Maximus’s unlimited energy, he could produce an endless army that could match the tide of the Dark Beasts.
“Impossible! Absolutely impossible!” Sira shouted, her voice trembling with shock.
Compared to her body, a mere flesh and blood, offering the Zerg Nest was an Impossibility.
Shouldering the life of every Zerg, she couldn’t let anyone touch it.
“Don’t even think about it—we won’t agree either!”
The other Overlords immediately voiced their rejection.
If Maximus gained control of the Zerg Nest, why would he even bother negotiating with them afterward?
With access to plane origin, countless strands of causality, and the Zerg Nest, he might very well mass-produce Tier 12 Zerg armies.
Unless the Aeon Plane was truly on the verge of destruction, such a result was something none of them wanted to see.
Granting Maximus control over the Zerg Nest was no different than surrendering the entire plane to him.
Unless the Aeon Plane faced extinction, or unless they themselves reached Tier 13, none of them would ever accept seeing Maximus so close to the Zerg Nest.
“What about partial control? I only it to produce biological samples and limited number of soldiers.”
“Still no! It’s impossible for you to even touch the Zerg Nest!”
“I just need some troops! You can set the limits—how many, what tier, even restrictions on quality…”
“No!”
As the negotiations grew more heated, Sira frowned deeply.
They were negotiating over the Zerg Nest as if she wasn’t even there.
Had they all forgotten she was the one who owned the Zerg Nest?
It seemed, even without her, these Overlords were determined to keep her away from Maximus.
Feeling completely ignored, Sira finally exploded with rage.
“Enough! Since Maximus wishes to use the Zerg Nest to produce an army, then I, Sira, will allow it!”
“You—!”
“How could you decide that so easily?!”
“Do you even realize what this means?!”
“I don’t care! It’s mine, I decide what to do with it.” Sira muttered coldly, looking at them with killing intent.
As the leader of the Zerg, how could she allow herself to be sidelined in such an important matter?
Today, no matter what these so-called Overlords said, she would make her voice heard.
“Alright, alright, don’t fight. Why argue over such a small thing? You are mighty Overlords, not a bunch of squabbling children,”
Lazo muttered, suppressing the tense atmosphere.
Instead of worrying about dominion and balance, why couldn’t they simply focus on advancing to the Tier 13 realm?
Wouldn’t it be better to put all their efforts into getting stronger?
Like him, even if the Void Beasts didn’t have much territory, they still commanded everything they needed through sheer strength alone.
Reputation, status, and land—those were meaningless when one had absolute power.
“Then what do you suggest, Lazo? How do we settle this?”
Though they had no strong attachment to ruling the Aeon Plane, they certainly didn’t want anyone lording over them unchecked.
“Just set strict limits—how many warriors Maximus can produce, their quality, and their tier.
Once we ascend to Tier 13, all of this will be irrelevant anyway.”
“This… is acceptable…”
After deliberating over Lazo’s words, the Overlords finally compromised.
It was only a matter of time before they reached Tier 13.
And once they did, none of this would matter anymore.
Watching them nod in agreement, an imperceptible smile appeared on Maximus’s lips.
“This is good…”
