Chapter 745: Fear Alan Peccator. (2)
“Hmmm.”
Ariel was conflicted, she had viewed all of Alan’s trials and… He did what she expected him to do.
“…”
Alan had indeed killed Kizmal, but the issue was moments after his pyrrhic victory he had melted.
Yes, Kizmal’s blood covered his decapitated and limbless body and melted it along with his heart. She almost gulped, she was no stranger to pain but even she knew that would be a traumatic experience.
But even if it was, How was she supposed to grant him victory if he also died in the process?
The multiple lives were meant to simply give as many tries as he needed. If he did it that way, did he even learn anything?
’…’
It wasn’t a clear, no matter how you looked at it a victory like that was awful. Everybody had performed well, but they all died in the process. In her eyes, a victory like that was meaningless.
It wasn’t as if she had set an impossible task, defeating Kizmal was possible without everyone dying, it would take a few more tries but it was definitely possible. However… She had wanted to teach him about sacrifice.
But not sacrificing everyone including yourself to win. Something like that really did not sit well with her. She sighed, contemplating on what to do.
Eventually, she decided to give it to him, however the main reason was that she could sense Lanesha coming over to protest.
She would rather that did not happen.

Meanwhile, as Ariel dealt with her daughter, Alan rose up to his feet, aimlessly walking towards the trial room once more.
His mind was not exactly a mess, but definitely not fine. He had gone through many things, breaking it now would be a chore no one would take willingly. Everybody else watched him in silence.
Exhausted looks were apparent on their faces, and if one paid close attention, they could see their bodies twitch, they were shivering ever so slightly merely glancing at the tunnel.
However, they all got up as well, with shaking legs and tired minds. They walked towards the entrance to the tunnel.
But just as they reached the entrance, Alan bumped into something.
“…?”
With a tired gaze, he looked in front of him only to find a white wall. Everyone else didn’t notice, they just thought he was waiting for them, and so they collided with the same wall as well.
Alan, like everyone else, was mentally exhausted and didn’t process what was in front of him, and so someone else had to break the news to him.
A voice rang out from a far.
“He is dead, young prince. Congratulations.”
Azmakul had to repeat his words for Alan to finally hear them, and understand. His eyes opened wide, in disbelief.
He opened the trial interface.
[Trials of Frost.]
[1: Gain the approval of Lanesha:(Completed).]
[2:Gain the approval of Azmakul:(Completed).]
[3:Defeat what lies in the heart of Kizmal:(Completed).]
[Reward: Heart of Winter.]
Upon witnessing this, and confirming it. There was no applause, no cheering, no celebration.
He just toppled down with a smile on his face, going to sleep in mere seconds.
When everyone else also realized… They did the same. They toppled to the ground, sound asleep.
“I guess that was to be expected.”
Maxwell inquired as to what they would do now, staring at the old dragon who he could never understand.
“What now?”
Azmakul looked at him, before turning towards the fallen group. He said.
“Nothing, you have accomplished all you needed to here.”
“I meant what’s next?”
“The winter heart will be transplanted into the prince. And then, you will all go towards the next series of trials.
To the world of shadows, Nocumbra.”
Maxwell felt something stir within when the name was mentioned, but he didn’t pry. He didn’t have the heart to question the dragon. Azmakul merely smiled.
“But before that, I must give you something. You are the person who manages this group, after all.”
That piqued his interest, with a somewhat confused and expectant gaze, he looked at Azmakul.
Who, from God knows where materialized many things.
He handed Maxwell a bunch of medallions.
Almost all of them besides three were white.
“What are these? Artifacts?”
“Identification. The white medallions can turn into proper identification in any world, Elves, Dwarves, Demons, they will give you all the information you need when there, about yourself and others. I went through the trouble to make identities for you all in all recognized systems. But in the case you need to hide your identities, they will help.
They are also equipped with high level transformation magic.”
Azmakul continued.
“The three other ones are extremely special. They are the personal Identities of the princes. They hold a lot of power, and were made by her majesty Ariel.”
Maxwell looked at the three closely, one was made of jade, while the others of a black stone with an outline of white, and inner engravings of purple and gold.
“The jade one is for you, it means your a servant of a high ranking dragon. In this case, the prince. And believe me that will give you a lot of power. Don’t go abusing it.”
And then, he handed him a lot of rings.
“That’s money.”
Maxwell’s eyes shone when he heard ’money’.
He already knew what he had been handed were priceless treasures, but money was simply something else.
“A couple hundred million in elven currency. A few million in dwarven coin as well. Those two will work almost anywhere, even in the empire of the Godbeasts and the abyss. But there is still an artifact that can change them into whatever form of money you desire, all that are recognized of course.”
Maxwell had stopped listening to the last part, his mind was simply filled with…
’89.7 BILLION studs. 89 billion…’
The amount of dwarven coins within were equivalent to that much in human currency. Humans did trade with dwarves somewhat, so he had a rough idea of it… But.
With the amount of elven money in there… He was dying to find out how much it was worth… They never traded with the elves at all.
But he would find out…
“It’s not a lot, but don’t use it carelessly. The dragons in charge of accounting or finance…whatevsr it was really are a bunch of young ones you do not want to mess with.”
“… There are dragons that do accounting?”
