His vision blacked out, and no matter how much time passed, he was still in the darkness, unable to find a way out…

Aiden wasn’t sure what to do anymore. His mind was completely flushed by his past memories, affecting him mentally.

He could see images flashing in his mind as he felt his knee weaken, falling onto the cold, hard floor.

’Where am I?’ Aiden thought as he couldn’t even see an inch away from him, not even a millimeter.

With his knees touching against the ground, Aiden softly let his hands touch the cold floor, making his entire body shiver because of the coldness.

At first, Aiden thought he had been in his mind. However, he could move his body around, which meant he had been sent somewhere. A place where he was alone, or so he believed.

He kept seeing passing images of his past training, practicing all kinds of techniques he had long forgotten as he arrived in his new body.

Who was helping him remember those things?

Why would anyone try to help him remember those memories?

Was it because of that liquid that Bo had given him?

That was likely to be the case. However, there was no way for Aiden to know. Maybe the effects of the Elixir had taken a while to kick in. Maybe that was why he was in his mind, slowly losing himself…

’So many maybes…fuck. When will I know everything.’

Aiden clenched his fists and sat on the ground, not moving the slightest inch.

Knowing there was no reason to keep his eyes open, he closed them and concentrated every fiber of his being on the images that would pop up in his mind. He tried to analyze every single detail from every single technique shown.

The more Aiden looked at those, the more he realized that the techniques he had learned in the past weren’t normal by human standards.

’Could we…could we really do all that without the help of mana or qi? How was that even possible?’

He could see himself running at a speed that wasn’t humanly possible, but there was nothing helping them apart from their body.

So…how?

Aiden had known for a long time that his previous body was at the absolute peak conditions for humans, but in no way should it be possible for him to move around so fast.

Still, those were just memories. They were in no way connected with the person he was now. He had long forgotten about his past self. His ideologies and his experience were all things that had crossed over to this world. However, while they helped shape him into the man he is now…time passed, and it’s not the case anymore.

He had learned how to love, he had learned how to make friends, or at least he had tried to do such a thing. He had learned to depend on others even if it was extremely difficult at times. Aiden had once gone back to his past self where no one else mattered except for him…

However, he had realized fast enough that he was wrong. In this life, he didn’t want to be alone at the top of the world, completely isolated from any kind of relationship. Aiden wanted to be loved. He wanted people to care for him.

Still, there was one crucial thing that was needed for such a thing to happen…he needed to get stronger. Strength will and will always be the factor that makes everything else meaningless. The strongest person on Earth can make everyone under them do everything they wish.

’But I don’t want that…I don’t want to be like the Lumithars, controlling everyone with their systems. I don’t want to be feared. I want to free everyone. I want to make sure everyone lives the life they deserve no matter what.’ Read new chapters at empire

The cold and rough floor slowly started warming up, and Aiden could feel his cold skin slowly getting warmer. The darkness surrounding him also started to diminish, letting him see one inch away from him.

It seemed the Elixir was trying to send him a message that he was on the right path. Maybe the one dictating this whole thing was his mind; however, none of that mattered. He was happy with the realizations that he was making.

He was slowly realizing that it was something he had forgotten right after meeting the five Gods. He had gone back to his old ways instantly, deciding to push everyone away in order to gain strength to fight back.

’I need to get strong enough to gain control of Nova.’ However, it didn’t end there. ’I need to get strong enough to destroy the Lumithars.’

There was only one small problem for the second part of his plan. He couldn’t hurt any of the Lumithars because of a deal he had made years ago.

’I’ll need to find a way to get out of this stupid deal that I made

Aiden wasn’t sure how, but he had a feeling that it would be related to the shackles inside him. If he were to break them for good, he had a good feeling that everything restricting him would be lifted.

Thinking of his chains situated near his heart, Aiden concentrated himself as he took a look at his inner self. The chains were shaking violently without the slightest intention to stop.

’Is it because of my memories? Are they still trying to restrict some of my memories to come back?’

Images hadn’t stopped entering his mind while he had gotten all those realizations, and now, with a clear goal in mind, Aiden couldn’t wait.

’Wu Lan…you better convince Li Feng to train me Aiden thought.

Having this sudden influx of thoughts, Aiden felt revitalized, as if the motivation was overflowing from his body.

Moving his sight from his inner self to his outside self, he realized he was back in the white laboratory.

It seemed he had passed whatever test the Elixir had thrown at him. He had done it; he hadn’t lost himself to the temptations thrown his way.

"Ah…time to leave,’ Aiden quietly muttered as he manifested mana in his right hand, completely obliterating the cage. However, he had done so quietly, not wanting Bo to realize what was happening.

Out of his cage, Aiden only had two little things to do before leaving his laboratory…two things that were extremely important.

He needed to go and get a huge amount of that Elixir because while it may make him remember painful memories, the amount of strength it had given him was absolutely worth it.

The second thing he needed was a map. However, he wasn’t sure if he would be able to find one here. Aiden remembered getting lost when he first appeared in the dimension and to find his way to Wu Lan…having a map would surely help him greatly.

Minutes passed by, and Aiden had searched everywhere for a map. Though, he hadn’t been able to find any…

’Well, I’ll just have to find my way,’ Aiden thought as he headed for the exit of the laboratory, leaving behind Bo, the crazy scientist.

’Thanks for the elixir!’ Aiden thanked in his mind as he reached the surface once more, flying upwards with no hesitation. He needed to get away before Bo woke up and found him again.
